I can’t remember the last time I watched Oprah. She is not my cup of hot chocolate, and at 4Pm, I am usually cooking dinner, exercising and watching STAR TREK, or out with the kids somewhere. Besides, Friday is field trip day for my kids and me :)! So, Lauren, now you know why I said ‘Maybe not’.
Does that blow your conspiracy theory out of the water? Believe it or not, I have a life besides TomKat and Suri!!

i don’t see the point of watching this, i mean come on, this is going to be so rehearsed, fake, phoney, false etc etc - it is a case of damage repair on tom’s part and ratings for oprah - there won’t be anything ‘new’ or ‘interesting’ to be gained from this, just the painful experiance of watching tom and his performing family on show

For three years Tom Cruise and his family has been fodder for media, bloggers etc……………….He has not responded to any of the ridicule. they have not responded to the sustained smear campaign that has known no bounds/limits.
I will not be able to watch the interview as it airs but Tivo is a great invention………..Looking forward to the interview.

Of course it will be a ratings hit. Everything TC is a ratings hit, that is why magazines ask where Suri is.

I was also under the impression from Julie that the site was a place were “fans” and “nonfans” could come and get the latest gossip on Cruise and family. In fact, she seems to be trying to keep us up to date on news from various angles. With that in mind, there are OBVIOUSLY going to be differences of opinions, I may even have some, but does that mean that I should be “put out to pasture?”

I’m not singling you out. I just pointed out a “fact” that was stated that this was a site for fans and nonfans to come visit to post comments. Not sure what’s going on with you and other bloggers, but please don’t imply that I’m here trying to take the side of “fans.” At times some may say I’m a fan. At other times I may seem to disagree, but that has nothing to do with my status or where I should be pigeon-holed on this site. I guess if I have to agree with “everything” to be a “fan” then you would have to cross me off the list.

well, as far as i am concerned this isn’t a TOM CRUISE site - it is a tomkat site - am i to be excluded because i only like two out of the three main members of tomkat??
as for the comments on babyrazzi - i think you will find that there are actually THREE different ‘amys’ that comment on that site - it is laughable that you have the arrogance to assume that there is only one amy in the world who isn’t pro tom!! (no need to apologise to me for your mistake on that!) and for the record, i rarely comment on that site - and i do mean rarely…

Tom Cruise hasn’t brought anything on himself lately……….The man hasn’t spoken about Scientology in almost three years. Videos of him from 4 years ago mind you has been brought in to sustain what i consider a smear campaign unlike anything i have ever seen directed at anyone.
Is it panic time because Tom hasn’t folded?
Is it panic time because the public still is interested in what he has to say?
Is it panic time because with everything that’s been hurled at that man and his family they continue to be gracious beyond belief?
Or is it panic time because finally after three years of everyone deciding they know the “truth” he is finally speaking for himself.

I plan to dvr the show like I do most of my shows and watch later. And yes, Amy, that is exactly what Julie stated. Room for differing opinions here not just a lovefest. It seems like the ones that can’t handle that as well are the total fans…And I for one, don’t plan to be chased away. For those of you sort of following folks around the net, that seems a bit strange to me especially when you comment on something said somewhere else in an entirely different forum. I totally agree that non fans and obsessed TC harassers are scared because people are going to watch this and think, ‘hmmm he seems such a nice guy’ I saw someone on JJ calling themselves anonymous asking people to complain to Oprah and threatening Oprah. Why if TC is finished and his career is finished? Why are they so scared about this show? Why should Morton have something to say about TC and TC himself is not? What is wrong with PR? This is the industry and his career and his life.
TC has not said anything or attacked anyone in three years. He has put up with so much and it is time he spoke out and told his side of the story.

Desperate is when something from more than three and even four years ago is used repeatedly to ridicule someone.
Desperate is also when one harps on the old because there is nothing new.
Desperate is also the fear that a smear campaign that has gone on for far too long may be seeing and end because the recipient is in no way deserving of all the ridicule directed to him and his entire family.

Mary: Just had to comment on the panic time comment. If I am panicing about anything it is not Cruise and family. I know he could careless for me and mine.
Seriously, the only thing I am panicing about is how my family and I are going to ride out the recession, rising food costs, and global crop failures. (I guess that would be a life or death situation.) And you know what, I am not panicing about that too much because I am doing what I can to be prepared. Maybe we should all be focusing more energy on that one.
Find it funny that the Cruise’s are having the media blitz to repair their image and their fans are getting more rabid as the media blitz takes momentum.
When you are struggling to feed your family, will you still care if people love Tom Cruise or not? Of course, maybe Cruise will be genrous and share his millions with you–anything strange can happen!!
Can we all put our sparing swords away and have a mature discussion and just accept that we will all differ? It is okay to agree to disagree. One of the great concepts of Western Civilization–freedom of speech.
The most annoying thing about all this is all the know-it-alls on this site. You all know what Cruise and his family are like based on the same pics I have seen and for some reason, quite a few of you seem to know who I am and where I put ALL my time and energy based on three or four comments I make here a day.

Still there seems to be an attempt to worry and assume so much about an interview that we haven’t seen yet and only Oprah’s words and very short previews in which that she says that she very much enjoyed speaking with Tom and they touched on everything.
TC is speaking to Oprah alone……………..I think the media blitz is coming from those who want to continue the smear campaign.

Hey FANS: The first segment is this Friday. It is in his house in Colorado. The second part is on Monday so there is two parts to this. I am DVRing both of them. I would have missed Friday if I didn’t see the show today (nice preview).
I am happy he is on Oprah again….she asks him great questions. I saw a blip today on the Oprah show.

I didn’t see none until in the final 15 minutes. Finally I saw it! It shows more than that clip from Access Hollywood. two more days!

I can’t wait to see his home, Katie and the kids. Ihope they are all there. Oprah and Tom seem like they had so much fun.
This site will post the good, the bad and the ugly, but it is still a fan site. But even if it was not, why would anyone who does not want to waste their time on TC have to visit a site clearly about him to make snide remarks? Isn’t that time better spend with family. I can understand a fan visiting hoping for some positive energy, but someone always coming here all the time for negativity cannot be healthy.

Amy you don’t have to pretend to like Tom’s wife and kids, maybe his ex wife. I have seen your posts elsewhere and I know you don’t. You sometimes do resort to calling Katie names too and you sounded more than happy when you read that she fainted. It is OK to be a non fan.
I doubt there is an MI 4. If it is there, who knows Rocky Balboa had a decent performance, Die hard 4 too. Ethan in M1 is not like Bat Man or Ironman so he can be 45. Young actors like Gyllenhaal have failed to break the hold that older actors have on the industry. I guess that is why Redstone made an aboutturn on his comments.

Folks, I strongly recommend you ignore those few who want to keep drudging up old posters and who are questioning whether or not the rest of us are worthy to comment about Cruise and family. By responding, you are acknowledging that what they are saying is okay, and it is not. These kinds of people will eventually stop if they are not getting the attention they are screaming for!

Tia: I will admit it wasn’t him. Sorry, I make mistakes and will admit that.
I don’t have archives of this stuff nor do I memorize it. This is just a small fraction of my life and it is more for fluff time, if anything. So, I don’t waste time memorizing it because ultimately, who really cares if I know what date KH and TC got engaged, etc. It won’t change my life any.
Either way, the some of the powers-to-be don’t want Cruise back or him being in MI:4. From what I understand Paramount is a corporation, so there are several people making the decisions, not just Redstone.

Redstone makes all decisions there and if any one does not tow in line, he sacs. Actually he has sacked almost every one and fell out with his lawyers and his kids. Besides this industry is full of untrue rumours and unless I hear it in an aired interview and the exec has a name, am not going to believe it.
Any one in the industry will agree that no one will make more money from that franchise than TC. Mention one actor who can.

If as an actor you’re only as good as your last release then actors like Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Nicole Kidman as a few examples should never in fact work again.
TC’s last movie Lions For Lambs was about the war……,……every single one of the war movies did disastrously at the box office…………Even Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhall couldn’t save Rendition. In The Valley Of Elah the ssme, Redacted the same.

Mary: Where would that leave Katie? Most people can’t afford movies and are not in the mood for serious movies.
Besides, I think all of the actors are overpaid.
My husband brought up a good point when we were watching I AM LEGEND. He said that he is tired of seeing the same actors in the movies. He said it takes away from believability because you already saw in so many different roles. He also said actors like Smith and Cruise seem to play the same kind of character over and over and that gets boring as well.
I haven’t seen much with Jolie. Most of her shows are not what I would watch.
We did see BEOWOLF, and I think what impressed me and my hubbie was the animation. It is so much more realistic and less cartoonish. I wonder what kind of impact that will have on Hollywood and actors. It won’t have to be about looks any more if movies were animated, just acting ability.

No One Special……………..I agree with you when you speak about the way the public is seeing movies……….I think it’s toward more family oriented and comedy……….without a doubt those do well at the box office.
With regard to Katie, if the reports in the media are to be believed she is looking into more than just movies, she’s looking toward the stage and she has said that in terms of acting she would like to do a period piece. It seems to me that she and others are taking note in the shift in what we the movie going public will pay to see at the movies.
We might have forgotten that TC has allowed himself to be extended as an actor in Magnolia and Interview With A Vampire (for example ) and to me when he takes on roles like those you see what a great actor he is.
I also think Valkyrie is one of those roles with or without a German accent. :)

To add……………..People talk about Katie and her box office appeal, Mad Money made $20 million+ at the box office in the US. It has not yet been released overseas. On opening I believe it made $8 million.
Deception with Michelle Williams ( katie’s co-star from DC and Oscar nominated actress from BrokeBack Mountain) opened with $2.2million and also starred Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor.
I believe Katie will be just fine.

i don’t understand the strong desire to constantly compare tomkat with other people - as in EVERYTHING in life, there will always be those out there with more than you and those with less - whether that be talent, looks, charisma, intelligence, money, status etc…

in all honesty - mad money was a flop and katie did receive poor reviews, and it has been apparent from the images we have seen online that this DID affect her - as it would ANYONE
tom, on the other hand, has been skating DOWN the slippery slope of fame for a few years now - and it won’t be long till he crashes at the rock bottom - i blame scientology for his downfall - not him, i think he has been brainwashed, pure and simple

box office appeal is one thing, critical reviews are another. from what i’ve read of reviews, katie’s performance was highlighted as the worst and one critic even called it ‘cringe-worthy’ or something like that.
i haven’t given up hope for this girl. she has a lot of work to do. but hollywood has a lot of talent, so does broadway. and she’s going to have to bring her game, if she can.

Amy now that is the smartest thing I have seen posted out here in a long while. I have said all along that I don’t like or dislike Tom, but I also think his downfall is directly related to Scientology. I would love to see the whole family come out. I just read over at Xenu that Tom forced Katie to go to the Gold base for 3 days and do special auditing because she was wanting to try to go to NY on her own. What religion other than this one is guarded more heavily than Fort Knox?? Why is it people can’t just freely walk away when they want to? Why does it cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to do take the classes and most of all why is this religion ‘allowed’ to have child labor camps? Why does it make people disconnect from their families if they don’t want to be part of the CoS? What other religion in the world is so paranoid that if they perceive you are the enemy, fair game comes into play and they can do whatever it takes to destroy you or your reputation. Now, These are the questions I would like to see TC address on Oprah.

you know it really annoys me when ‘fans’ say comments like ‘who cares what tom’s religion is’ - they don’t seem to realise or accept that his ‘religion’ IS him - and that this ‘religion’ is an extremely DANGEROUS one -
OF COURSE tom is no doubt oblivious to the information we are all able to go and read anywhere online - i have no doubts that tom is closely guarded and monitored AT ALL TIMES, the CO$ would not want their messiah having any doubts…..

Amy………..I think Katie’s previous roles speak for themselves………..She herself has said that she doesn’t want to be the biggest star in the world, she just wants to do good work. She wants to stretch herself as an actor, the only way to do that is to try things.

Con Mom: If Cruise were to answer those questions or Oprah ask them, I would watch Oprah. The problem is it will all be fluff and all we will here is how great Scientology is and how ‘amazing life with Suri and Katie is’. I am sure Cruise either pre-approved the questions or that his people told Oprah’s people what Cruise will say, base your questions about that.
The only reason he is addressing his bizarre behavior on this show is damage control, pure and simple. The question is: Is it too little way too late? People have had 3 years of mulling over his bizarre behavior and those Scientology tapes are something that people are not going to forget any time soon, no matter what Cruise says to Oprah.
I agree that Scientology is to blame for ruining him, but so is his character. He joined a religion that panders to his self-righteousness and self-centeredness. They treat him like a God and he likes it. Just look at that video of his birthday on the Scientology ship. He loved the hero worship there.
People ask how could KH turn on her Catholic backround. Simple, she valued fame and wealth and being Mrs. TC more than her religion. Ask her today what the best day of her life is and it is her fairy tale fake Italian wedding….party. Note the ‘fairy tale’ and even that day she was acting; it was not real, it was a party. She wants her fantasy more than anything else–and the high credit limit.

Bottom line: Both Katie and TOm have choices in life. They value the things of this world, wealth, fame, etc., and Scientology has minions to shower both of them with that. Based on their values, or lack their of, they were both easily seduced by Scientology.
The real shame is the innocents that are along for the media/sceintology driven ride.
I have a horrible feeling that Suri is being groomed for Scientology Princess and both her parents are allowing it.

Katie has always, always said she wants to do good work. Never have I heard her say that she ever wanted to be the biggest star.
As for Tom and Katie’s marriage, those who know them say they’re happy together but the tabloids and others persist in saying otherwise. I can’t see Katie’s family in the many times they’ve travelled to LA and recently Germany to see her, turning a blind eye if Tom was anything but loving to her.
Katie’s family is wealthy in their own right and so is she.
As for NK and her international acclaim as an actress, as in all cases there are hits and misses.

David Miscaviage himself has called TC the “SAVIOR” of CoS! Many consider him the NUMBER 2 guy in this religion. That is not ‘just a regular member”. All the information out recently about the CoS and yet people are so willing to hero worship a man who is the second in command of this thing. Even mainline news shows are running stories on the CoS now-He isn’t just a member, he is the voice of this ‘church’. Those videos of him that were leaked where he is talking about being a Scieno are STILL being used in the church. Sad. I’ve really never seen such blind devotion. I can’t find any proof of that but maybe COS has. John Travolta has said the exact same thing.
The videos all over Youtube are apparently made by COS members……Jason Beghe mentioned he made some as well. Maybe it’s required.

The mainline news reported what was in Morton’s Book which was that TC is effectively second in command, whatever that means. Maybe being held in high esteem equates to being second in command, who knows.

I have a dvr.. and I will watch it too. I have my hopes that it will be something really spectacular but I think it is just going to be more about damage control. My goodness, Tom has been known as the most famous movie star in the world! If his star is somewhat faded now- so many years later, what is wrong with that?? Careers in Hollywood last about 20 minutes. LOL His has been going for 20+ years. Maybe taking on UA is not a bad idea for him at this stage. Maybe he should star in movies that truly interest him now-indies and what not and leave the box office to a younger generation. His moment in the sun has been a pretty darn good one if you ask me. Sure in my view, some of his antics and behaviors got his career rolling a bit downward, but what a career it has been. His movies have made billions of $$ all together. Not many that can say that.

I don’t blame Tom if he thought the public will not buy into some of the ridiculous stories published about them! I still find it hard to believe averagely intelligent person will buy into those nonsense.
I think someone here has said before if Cruise is done and finished with his career then the critics should not have anything to worry about and work over time to discredit a show that hasn’t even been shown yet.

This is not just for you but for most of the critics. Why do we need to do research when you don’t do yours? Most of the fans here try to prove gossip using facts and quotes but most of the critics just either make up or don’t do their research but use tabloid stuff and try to pass it on as a fact or as if the person has said those thing when in fact it was a tabloid.
I think the critics will be more effective if they just didn’t uses anything and everything to discredit this family or insult them. For example Puckhappy was trying so hard to make little of the actor Tom Cruise but when he was getting nowhere with what he was saying…he claimed Harrison Ford has more awards than Tom Cruise. So who would actually believe the nonfans/critcs with the amount of garbage and insult they are coming up with?

Tyler, I believe that too. TC has NEVER given an interview except to promote a movie or something. And we know he has no movies coming out until next year.I think this particular thread is actually sort of ON topic as an interview with Oprah opens up all the questions most people have been wanting answered for a long time now. And from the previews, it looks like she does ask him some of the questions about Scientology, jumping on that couch, etc. Gotta go set my DVR. I love to watch shows on my DVR. Midwest Girl: One thing I have noticed since I have been on this site, is that when the tabs print something favorable, even when foxnews does, the fans are all over it as their evidence.
Yet, when it is negative, the fans are saying it is lie and the non-fans as truth.
Seriously there is so much contradictory evidence out there, I think the truth is in the middle.
Both sides are using the tabs as their sources, since that is the only source we all have. None of us personally know these two nor do we know what is happening behind closed doors. ONly Tom and Katie are privy to that.
Again, please stop taking yourselves so seriously.
I think MARY AND AMY had a very mature discussion yesterday without implying and hurling insults. And Hana, Lauren has been vicious recently–especially telling Doug he wasn’t a man. Frankly, I was offended by that comment. CONCERNED MOM has also been just sticking to the topic as well. She has also been fair too–giving compliments and criticisms.
Speaking of rules, Julie herself said that those who are viciously attacking ARE NOT USING REAL URLS, SO SHE CAN”T DISCIPLINE THEM. I think we can all guess who that might be.
TYLER: I have to agree. Stars don’t come on TV unless there is something to promote. Frankly, neither really has any movie to promote. (A two minute cameo is not something Cruise is a major player in.) I think Cruise realizes there is a lot out there that is causing a lot of damage to his image and it needs to be addressed. The problem is most thinking people will see this as damage/image control…or else why is there a happy family segment in Telluride and why Oprah?

Con Mom: I still think Cruise’s people told Oprah’s that this is what Cruise wants to say, gear your questions to these answers. Either that or he preapproved them and got them scripted out.

Hello Everyone,
I want to thank No One Special and anyone else out there for your great comments. I have to admit, please forgive me if this is off-topic, but I was taken aback by Lauren’s comment. I know that many men don’t frequent your site, but everyone made me feel comfortable coming here. Frankly, after the other day, I didn’t know if I would post again, but you know what? I had to come to the realization that this is life and it’s not always fair. Plus, this is a site I like to come to because of the intelligent people who post here. Like anywhere else, there are people out there in the world who know how to use tact, and then there are those who don’t. Again, thanks to everyone again.

I checked out the pop pics of the “Napa” trip. But strange, out of the 13 pictures, tc and kh are not in a single one. Wonder why?

I meant the sweet part is the boot camp for his wife. How generous that he wants to help his wife so she can be the best robot, oops sorry, person she can be!!
We all know TC would never brand his wife or tie a cannonball to her leg!! He is way to kind for that. And to suggest otherwise is cruel.
I am sure we will find all right in TomKatland when Katie stars on Broadway in the months to come. Guaranteed: The tabs will be coming out with the ‘Fit and Healthy Katie’ doll in this summer.

Doug, stay on please. I enjoy your posts! That was a generalization Hana and I do apologize. I know it disturbs me as well when people generalize about anyone here. I wish people could just state their opinions and not take this place so seriously. This is a gossip site, gossip mags say all kinds of things. In my view it makes it more interesting if you get varying opinions on different stories.

In regards to the Cruise interview, I think someone brought up the fact that this is a VERY important interview for him considering how his image has taken a beaten in the media these last couple of years. I hope sincerely for his sake that this isn’t a “fluff” interview as was stated earlier. He needs to address the tough questions and come off truly sincere at the same time to help improve his image at this point. His level of sincerity is a “key” factor here.

Doug: From what I heard/read, Cruise preapproves all questions from interviewers. I am sure when he is well rehearsed, he can sound sincere. He is an actor after all and has not earned money and fame without playing the roles well. That could also mean Katie is well rehearsed in what she says as well.
I still think he either had the questions pre-approved or said this is what I want to say/cover, stick to these topics.
