Video About the Fire at Kansas City Barbeque
June 28, 2008 by Julie Bonner
Here’s some video footage about the fire at Kansas City Barbeque. If you are new here, you can read the story about the fire here.
They show the scene in Top Gun that was filmed at Kansas City Barbeque. There are two scenes that were filmed at this location and they are the scene where Goose and Maverick are at the piano singing “Great Balls of Fire” and also the final scene where Charlie plays “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin‘” for Maverick, just like Michelle said.
It’s such a shame that this has happened.

Chilling video. Thank God no one was hurt. Sounded like it was a very fast blaze. It is disheartening to see anything destroyed, people out of work, etc. As a history buff though, and because I still feel like Maverick is a classic American film and that was one of my favorite scenes (which I will admit I will still watch if I see it on tv somewhere)-very sad to see this piece of American culture destroyed.
It is so sad. It’s amazing how fast fire does it’s thing.
I used to work there, in 1990, and Jerry was the bartender/manager then, too. I am so saddened by this news. I loved working there, I loved the people I worked with, and I loved the customers, many of whom were Navy men/women. I have some great pictures of those days and memories that will last forever. Thinking of everyone there. Best wishes, Cindy.
