Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes

TomKatCrazy Update

by Julie on May 5th, 2008

I wanted to give everyone an update. I am all moved into our new house and am slowly, very slowly getting settled. I will not have internet until Thursday, so if you email me or have a question, I will be in and out over the next few days. Thanks for being patient about a few comments that got out of hand. I haven’t been able to dig through all of the comments and won’t for the next few days, so if there is a comment that has offended you or attacked you personally, or you have some concerns, please email me.

I have not even been able to see the Tom Cruise interview on Oprah yet!! I am hoping to watch it soon. From what I have heard it was a good interview. I can’t wait to read through all of your comments on that post Jeanne put up for me. ;)

I am looking forward to bringing you updated TomKat news again. Anytime you want to send me a tip, feel free! Thanks.

welcome back!! By the time you settle in a bit more, you will be able to watch both the Oprah shows!! I have not watched the first one yet. Keep putting it off. But soon. I have of course surfed all over the place and read all the varied opinions. No news there. LOL If you love TC, it was a great interview, if not, it was ‘damage control’. Pretty much the same on every site even Oprah’s! So now you know. LOLOL

    Julie,
You might want to have yourself an irish bomb, make that a double, before you settle in and read all the posts LOL

You could tell they were all really trying hard, everyone knew their lines, well rehearsed, but it just seemed awkward , good effort but not a Broadway hit. See what you think.

Hey - when you watch the interview (the one in Telluride was pretty awesomw) are you going to be screen capping the pics of Suri that they showed? They’re family photos that we haven’t seen before (and I don’t know how to cap photos). Thank you!! and enjoy both interviews!

I agree with concerned mom that the interview was a lot of damage contorl, I’m not a big TC fan (I watched because of Katie) but I did think it was a great way to see inside the Telluride, CO place they share. If that’s where he decided to do the spin coontrol, so be it, we still get to see the place where Katie and Suri spend so much time. :) The second interview I didnt care for much, just basically tom yammering on, so I didn’t pay as much attention. I have noticed that Tom has perfected the art of “not really answering the question”. He’s always been good at it, but this might be the best example yet, it’s one of the things that bugs me about him. But like I said, I tuned in to see the compound and what it’s like. It looks so gorgeous up there! :)

Katie, Tom has answerd the questions put to him by Oprah and the rest he didn’t answer is, I think nobody’s business. Tom has gotten a lot of heat for answering questions, especially in 2005. Its best this way…both critics and he needs to move on. All he needs to do from now on is keep his faith to himself and concentrate on his career.

And questions regarding Scientology I agree with what he said. “when he refuses to answer questions about it, people question why he’s avoiding the topic. When he does he’s accused of preaching”.

Since I haven’t watched the whole show yet, I don’t even know if he did or didn’t answer any questions.

Tom answered all the questions Oprah asked of him………..He was forthright and honest.

Tia, I agree that he needs to keep his faith to himself like he did in the past so that he can revive his career. In Hollywood, you can’t truly say anyone is down for the count because there have been many who had careers in the “graveyard” so to speak then came back with a splash. Only time will truly tell.

    Thanks everyone!

Tyler - I’ll take two of those Irish bombs. :D
Katie - Yes, I’ll screen cap those photos videos before the end of the week. Good idea. :D

Welcome back Julie. Missed a lot, hopefully you can capture it all.The interviews, the galas and everything in between. It was a Suri fest too.

Mary, just curious, are you Tom’s mother?

Well the cat is sort of out of the bag on his ‘faith’ As far as I could tell he sort of skipped over questions like when Nicole can see her kids. He said whenever. “She can see them whenever” Well if they have joint custody like he says, then to me that would mean that she is just able to ’see’ them sometimes not have them. There was another very interesting and telling question from the audience on Monday. Here it is:

It was a simple question from an audience member: if you had a day without anything on your schedule other than time with the family, how would you spend the day?

“We would definitely…you know, start the morning out and crawl around with the kids, hang out,” Cruise said. “Uh, we’d play games…I’d go for a flight in my airplane, come back, go for a picnic, you know, maybe go to the beach. Hang out, dinner, watch movies, and we would play games. We like riding motorcycles, going for a hike, something like that, that’s how we like to spend the day.”

LOL I don’t think he knows what normal is. I’m sorry but you just can’t make stuff like that up. Straight from his mouth. Kind of takes me back to when interviewers were asking both of them how they met and what their first date was like..

Sometimes I think he is handsome, good actor, fabulously wealthy, but he is not too bright. It’s sort of a contradiction, he did so many impressive things but made and makes so many blunders. Wonder why he can’t get it right.

    mom,
i know exactly what i like to do on a day with my family when time permits, and it doesn’t include cramming it full. motorcyles doesn’t sound like a family activity, more of a guy thing, :)

Mom and Tyler, on the first Oprah show, did you guys see a pic of Tom, Katie, Bella and Connor on a day out on a motorcyles? They look like they were enjoying themselves. To me it sure looks like something they do as a family.

  • Lauren
    May 8, 2008 at 6:04 am

Concerned mom, Tom has ever said all those things in the past. Infact he taught Bella and Connor how to ride Motorbikes before they were ten. And it is one of the first things he taught Katie when they met. This is Tom Cruise not John Smith off the street.

Anne Leibowitz also said on Larry King that they did most of those actitivites when they spent 5 days at TC’s place. He has three planes so am sure to him they are like taking your car for a ride. He has had this life since 19 and to him it is normal. Maybe it is because I have heard it all before so I don’t find it extraordinary.

And Tom and Katie met when she went to audition for a role in MI3. There was a lot buzz about her then and she was even touted as the next bond girl (Google Katie Holmes bond girl). Scarlett dropped out of MI3 due to scheduling conflicts and Katie was considered for the role. Initially, Tom had wanted Jennifer Garner to play it after her success in Alias but because of scheduling conflicts then pregnancy she couldn’t. Jessica Alba auditioned for the Eye which is a Cruise Wagner production. I guess that is where the wife auditioning rumours came from.

You can choose what you want to believe what you want but ask yourself, can you concoct a grand scheme like a fake relationship to last for years without thinking about the most obvious question, how did you meet?

Maybe Katie did not feel comfortable mentioning that they met like that, but Tom did in a couple of interviews. Brad Pitt and Aniston met through their agents. I am sure they intended a PR thing in the beginning then they clicked later and the rest like they say is history. When Brad was asked on Oprah how they met, he said ‘through friends… you know what I mean’. Don’t see any one holding that against him.

Stop picking on Tom and Katie and their kids. The met, they married and have beautiful kids. For better of worse they are together and until they split, we shall assume that it is what they want.

it is HEALTHY to be inquisitive AND to not just accept what we are being spoon fed - PARTICULARLY if that spoon is being held by hollywood!!

i would rather question as opposed to blindly accept what i was told to believe

    just me

so thank you - i shall CHOOSE WHAT I WANT TO BELIEVE, and now that i have your approval on doing so - does this mean that all of us who have differing opinions and CHOOSE WHAT WE WANT TO BELIEVE will be left alone by you??
    YIPPEEEE!!!!

also - i found it kinda creepy how you told julie above how she had ‘missed a lot’.
i sincerely hope that she can - in your own words - capture it all - as in - your attacks, nasty comments, accusations (hey, you even said doug wasn’t even a man on one of your off days)
i hope she captures IT ALL - and sees how evil, spiteful and nasty you have been to us all - it would be a shame if your actions were condoned by the webmistress - this site would lose all credibility

Well Lauren, They have both shared a few stories now about that ‘mysterious first date’ Maybe it was a series of ‘firsts’ for Katie…A motorcycle ride down the coast, a picnic at a winery, sushi mile high in his airplane; think that was all the things I have read and heard about that ‘first’ date. When Letterman asked her about it, she just looked stumped frankly. If you look at previous interviews with letterman she was cute and charming and articulate, but after meeting Tom, her answers sounded stilted and rehearsed to me.

And Lauren, I AM a Katie FAN. Don’t care particularly either way for Tom which by the way is NOT a crime.

  • amy
    May 8, 2008 at 11:32 pm

concerned mom- i have tried and tried and tried to point out that this is a tomkat site not just a tom site - some of us care only for katie and suri - and that ISN’T a crime - yet it falls on deaf ears….

and just because we care for katie - doesn’t mean we are blind to her faults either - some of us are concerned for her and others are very disppointed she sold out the way she did

we all see this family very differently and have very differing opinions and feelings towards them, and that should be OK - don’t you think?

amy, how did Kate sell out? didn’t she aquire millions?

  • Katie
    May 9, 2008 at 10:41 pm

As Amy pointed out, even though this is a TomKat site, some of us do come for the Katie & Suri info. I don’t think that anyone should be bashed for liking only one half of the couple and not the other, and I try not to bash but to give my thoughts in a constructive manner… I personally don’t trust Tom, but it could be because I don’t know him. I know Katie, and though I haven’t seen her in a few years, she and I used to work together on Dawson’s Creek all the time. I see a huge difference in her now versus then, but remain a fan of hers and receive the occasional letter from her parents. I enjoy hearing about her life, as well as watching Suri grow up. Having seen Katie in other relationships (with my own eyes) and knowing this one is so different, and Katie so different in it always makes me leary of the situation, but that’s not to be taken as judgement, only observation.

In response to Mary, yes, Tom always “gives answers” to questions, but I don’t think he actually answers the questions. Totally his right to do so, but it is also my right to have the opinion that he slithers around the question to make a pretty answer, not really to give an honest answer. Either way, I am thankful that he allowed us to see inside the CO house, as I know he keeps some things private, and it’s a privilidge to see where Katie and Suri spend a lot of their time. So much better to see it on video than just in photos, so for that I’m happy. Also to see the personal photos in the home was a treat. Being in the industry myself, I’m not blind to the reasons for showing such intimate details of ones life, but am grateful all the same.

Julie - thank you, I look forward to the caps, and welcome back! :)

Con mom, you have to understand that Katie is not the same person she was then. Everything she says now makes headlines and she has to choose her words carefully. When so many lies are told about you and the people you love, it makes you wary who your true friends are. People also criticised her on Letterman anyway and called her brainwashed for being happy and carefree. She seemed confortable on the radio show with Ryan Seacrest in the confort of her homw with no prying eyes trying to analyse her facial expressions.

I am sure if she left Tom, you would all forget about her and not care if her life was miserable or not or even if she did drugs. Like I say, I doubt you non fans give a fig about her, Connor, Bella or Suri. Anything to hit out at Tom Cruise.
