Tom, Katie and Suri Go on Dinner Date with Ben Stiller and Company
Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and daughter Suri Cruise went on a dinner date at Nobu restaurant in New York. They were joined by Ben Stiller, his wife Christine Taylor and their daughter, Ella.
Katie was dressed very casually in jeans, sandals and a very cute shiny silver shirt. Suri was in another cute dress and barefoot. I can see Suri being very happy on a beach somewhere in a dress and no shoes. From all the pictures we have seen of her, you can tell she does not like shoes! I don’t blame her one bit. Suri brought along a couple of her own dinner guest…her bunny and Cabbage Patch doll. :D
Tom is looking handsome, as usual, in all black.
I wonder how fun this dinner must have been? I imagine they all have a great time together.

I think Ben Stiller’s daughter is very pretty.

stillers wife is absolutely stunning and dressed beautifully. suri looks miserable, as always. as always. as always. pathetic. the kid is in distress too much. head down, cowering face in parents shoulders, rarely, if ever, a grin. what is wrong with her???? are TC and Katie oblivious???

No, they’re not oblivious. They know exactly what they’re doing. In other pics, they’re laughing as they look at her with her eyes covered.

Can’t they leave her home sometimes? I cannot understand why they feel the need to take a 2 year old to a grown-up dinner particularly when they know how much she hates the flash photos. You never see Brangelina taking their kids out at night!

This was not a grown up dinner…………….The Stiller’s brought their daughter.
The Cruise’s know their daughter and in all of those pics Katie/Tom or both are holding on to their daughter.
In the video they quickly head to the car and you can hear security asking the paps to move away because they got their pics.

If they know their daughter then they also know she is distressed by the light bulbs. They seem to think it’s amusing though.

In the above video, you can hear poor Suri crying. I think that she is too young to be out so late, and it seems like Tom and Katie often have her out sooo late. I’m sure Suri would much rather be at home where she’s comfortable and secure.

I find it interesting how people here comment how horrible it is for the pap to be right in Suri’s face yet we all come here to check out the pictures so I don’t think people can say how awful it is if those people are partaking in viewing the pictures. It’s like saying smoking is bad but you smoke.

I agree that we are all guilty because they take the pictures because people like us look. But personally I am curious about Tom and Katie, not their daughter and would be very happy to never see a picture of her looking sad and scared. And yes the Stillers brought their daughter but she is quite a bit older it would seem. I take my 6 yr old to dinner sometimes, but leave the 3yr old behind so she can go to bed at a proper time. And I am not dealing with papz obviously! :)

Ben’s daughter is 6 years old, not 3.

I am sure Tom and Katie love their daughter more than any of you. It is their life and their life to lead as they want. If their daughter was indeed to affected, I am sure they would do something about it. Suri is a drama queen, follow the link using my name and you will see what a drama queen she can be. I am sure she would wail the house down if she was left at home. She makes faces at paps and when they put her inside the car she still wants to stay outside and peek at them.
I won’t be a hypocrite, I enjoy the pictures and it is one of the reasons I looked forward to seeing them in NY. This is going to be Suri’s life and the earlier she gets used to it the better.

It is never one size fits all when it comes to children. What is a proper bedtime for one child is not for the next. Katie has said that Suri goes to be at 11 or so and sleeps through until 9 or so. Every child is different.
The link Lauren posted are from the next day. Suri seems perfectly fine and playful.
I do think the paps need to back off and have some sense of decency.
Tom and Katie are always gracious to them and they do not need to be this lens happy and intrusive.

VBride: You are so right…I watched the video and you clearly hear her crying. Unreal. What is going on with these two? Also, Katie surely must be under some major performance stress as she prepares for opening night does she really need to add to it with a crying child? This wailing by Suri could have been easily avoided if the family decided to keep her at home a few nights/days in a row. Instead of all this galavanting around, why not just put her to bed at a reasonable hour, draw a hot bath, and relax without this constant exposure? I have always liked Katie, but this refusal to shield her toddler from the constant barrage of media is very frustrating. Why must she constantly submit Suri to this type of “trauma”? Wonder what Mrs. Holmes feels. Afterall, its her grandaughter that is shown walking around town, head down, self-soothing herself with that constant finger to mouth body posturing. If I were the grandma I would say Katie, let the kid stay at home for once and play like a normal child.

Suri keeps bringing different toys every time she goes out but she doesn’t seems to be the one carrying them. My suspicion is that I think TC & KH knows that their daughter will get photographed so they choose which toys should they bring for a show off. I know kids at that age tend to have a favorite toy at a time for a certain period of time which they will carry anywhere they go until they are bored then they move on to the next toy. What do you guys think about this?

What is reasonable for one child is not reasonable for the next.
Why should Katie and Tom be bullied into leaving their child at home especially in the summertime. There are moments in time when Suri is not seen. The paps are and will continue to be annoying and intrusive.
What would Mrs.Holmes say? Katie said in an interview that her mother took her everywhere with her as a child. The only difference is that Mrs. Holmes didn’t have to deal with hordes of get a pic at any cost paparazzi.

Looika, I think your are starting to get the ‘magnifying glass’ syndrome. Interpreting everything these people do. Giving meaning to every minute detail or mundane things.
Suri has many toys unlike many ordinary kids who have a number of toys and one home. She probably doesn’t stay in one place enough to get attached to any toy. She may also be one of those kids who don’t get attached to toys. In any case, kids getting attached to toys though common, is unhealthy.
Think about it, why would Tom and Katie change toys to show off? Wouldn’t it be easier to take her off the bottle and please the public since that is what people are complaining about? Or carry Sippy cups for the sake of appearances?
Whenever we see Suri she has lost her shoes, maybe she is playing with the toys that her parents are carrying. That aside, she does carry the toys most of the time anyway.

no, you’re right lauren. 100%! tomkat do nothing for the sake of appearances; rather, they live and behave exactly as they please. that’s why when suri’s screaming her head off, katie continues smiling placidly. it’s a NATURAL mommy reaction. even mommy monkeys in the wild and in the zoo prob wouldn’t act that way. and YES, I HAVE BEEN TO THE ZOO. have you?

Katie and Tom are holding on to their daughter and trying to get to the car as quickly as they can……..That is what Katie does when it’s her and Suri and also her and Tom with Suri, they try to shield her or distract her.
They want to enjoy outings with their daughter. I don’t think they should sequester themselves because the paps are bloody annoying.
The pics of Suri from the next day with her dad show a child that seems happy and playful.
The paps don’t seem to know when to back off and the constant flashes and shouting by the paps is more than just annoying.

I think the paps seems to bother Suri more now then they did last summer. We saw lots and lots of pics of Suri out and about with her parents. But the constant attention seems to really be taking it’s toll on her and it may be a little too much right now. I just wish they would keep Suri at home a little more is all. As much as I enjoy seeing pics of Suri, maybe they need to give her a little break since she is clearly getting upset at all of the attention.

that is why Celine Dion son does not leave the house, he is afraid of the paps…I think take Suri out in public…just like all of YOU….If, she was to stay home ALL OF YOU…would complain…”WHERE IS SURI, WHY DON’T THEY TAKE HER ANYWHERE”….GROW UP PEOPLE…STOP FEEDING THE PAP..AND STOP REMOVING MY POST…THIS HOW YOU GET PAID…..

Anyone want to fake bet that once inside the restaurant, during the meal, that the Stiller’s daughter and suri were at a different table being entertained by nannies so the parents could talk about adult things?
I think it is perfectly normal for people in this industry to do that sort of thing. In someways it is better then leaving them home alone. It may teach them how to behave in a very nice eating establishment when mommy and daddy are not around!
