Tom Jumps on Reporter’s Cellphone
He’s gone from acting weird and jumping on Oprah’s couch to acting weird and jumping on reporter’s personal cellphones and conversations. The Electric New Paper reports on an incident during the filiming of Tom Cruise’s new movie, Mission Impossible 3:
Cruise told the surprised journalist: ‘Put her on the phone.’ The man sheepishly dialed up someone Cruise assumed to be the man’s girlfriend:
Handling the Mandarin words for ‘thank you’ and ‘how are you’ with ease, the star said to the person on the other end of the line: ‘Hello. Xie xie. Ni hao. Are you good?’
Cruise’s translator, who stepped in to help the conversation along, said: ‘Oh, you’re married?’
The actor, who’s known to the local media as Tang Ge (Big Brother Tom), said: ‘Tell her I wish her happiness. Xie xie, bye-bye.’ He then handed the phone back to the reporter.
Big Brother Tom, we like the sound of that.
