Tom Cruise Tells Katie Holmes to Stop Shopping So Much

by leora on March 25th, 2007

I think a bunch of you guys were commenting about the numerous shopping sprees Katie Holmes seems to be going on so soon after having Suri.  According to this article Tom feels like she’s been taking it too far:

Tom Cruise has reportedly told Katie Holmes to cut back on shopping.

The Hollywood actor is rumoured to be unhappy at his new wife’s constant shopping sprees.

According to reports, Katie recently spent a whopping $200,000 in one visit to Barney’s department store in Beverley Hills recently. As well as buying clothes for herself and her baby daughter Suri she bought two pairs of designer shoes for her best friend Victoria Beckham.

A friend of Holmes told Grazia:" Katie looks like she has been moping about having to curtail he shopping sprees. She said Tom wants her to take a break as he thinks it might be sending out the wrong message.

He certainly doesn’t have to worry about money and Katie is not on a budget- it seams he doesn’t want people to think she is frivolous and all about shopping and money."

LOL, I doubt some people really understand the dynamic of husband & wife. Its not really some dominating thing for a husband to say “slow down on spending” and honestly, a wife who gets offended by a suggestion is probably wise to just abide by the counsel in the first place. In my life, I’m glad for a break on spending and shopping at least once a week to really think about what I want. Why spend so much money if its not exactly what I want. Seriously though…I bet everything she bought was worth it or will look so dang cute on Suri. Another thing people have to learn is context of the original statement. Maybe he was just trying to say, “I don’t mind you spending all that money, just let other companies enjoy our wealth too.”

Annalisa, that last line was so funny. Magazines will speculate about something, e.g why isn’t Katie going to Burney’s any more and another answera, probably Tom told her to slow down, dang! A story is born with themselves as the insiders. At least these days people have brains and can see through them.

I never really buy the public’s concern for Katie, it is just veiled jealousy. Why was there no concern for Anna Nicole Smith? Why aren’t there T-shirts saying,’save Dannielynn Smith’? they need more concern and sympathy than Katie. She tells us she s happy and we scream, ‘no you are not! You want to free yourself of your controlling husband’ Crazy world.
