Rumor: Tom Cruise Refuses IVF Even as a Consideration
Reportedly Tom Cruise is refusing to even consider IVF treatment in order to conceive a baby with Katie. Katie is rumored to be growing very concerned that she will not be able to conceive a second baby with her husband. What’s Tom’s reasons behind the refusal. Well, we all know his strong beliefs in Scientology right? :) IVF treatment is frowned upon by the movement.
A source said: “Katie’s concerned about Suri being lonely as she’s kept in a bit of a Scientology bubble. She wants her to have a playmate.
“Tom keeps telling her to focus on Scientology methods of creating “positive energy” to become pregnant, which he’s convinced worked the first time around, but Katie’s losing patience.
“She’s getting frantic and the worst thing is she knows that the more stressed she becomes, the less likely she is to conceive.”
I respect people’s religious or moral beliefs but I can’t imagine not doing anything in my power to have a child. I love my three kids with every ounce of my being and I would have hung upside down for nine months if that’s what it took. I know that IVF is a grueling process though. I have watched many a friends go through that. Hard, very hard.

Katie signed up for the cult/religion and now she is realizing it not all roses and hand outs. She has to make sacrifices for it. She also signed the medical treatment agreements too. She knew what she was getting into. It is called choice and consequences.
I find it funny that is this day and age people have problems when they can’t have everything they want. She wanted Cruise, the lifestyle, the fame, and supposedly even the religion, but now that she has actually follow the tenets, its poor picked on KH.
Katie wanted all the goodies and now she is crying because she is finally realizing that her sugar daddy and the cult will tell her “NO”.
Personally, I never would have signed the medical contract. I would have seen past the immediate glitz and realized that at some point something like this would come up. There are consequences to choices.

In agreement again with you Battlemama. If I had to sacrifice possibly my life because I signed a crazy medical clause that forbids me to possibly get life-saving treatment, I would give him back all the things he had or was willing to buy me and run for the hills!! To add insult to injury, she also put her vulnerable little child in the same situation. She had a choice to renege on things such as medical care, but Suri doesn’t get the choice. Sad situation.

I wonder if this might be sort of a wake up call to Katie. As she sees her daughter more and more isolated and is unable to get pregnant-there are varying opinions on that subject–and not allowed to use other medical means to get pregnant… And God forbid little Suri ever really needs any medical care because I could bet that at that point-it would be a deal breaker for katie. I know a lot of people think they use Suri for their own purposes and I don’t know what is true in that. But pictures I see of Katie seem to show me a young mother who adores her child. I don’t see Katie as a total user and greedy person. If you go back to interviews in 2001 and 2002 on Letterman and elsewhere she was just a 20 something young woman having the time of her life. People in their 20’s do a lot of dumb things. That is the age that you look back on and think –What were you thinking!! lol

I don’t see why anyone would spend money for invasive procedures for another child. She has one cute girl. Isn’t that enough? If not, adopt!

she looks like selma blair in that photo. DO you guys remember the little darling from Poltergeist? I heard she died because her parents were Christian Scientists

Powder: You obviously have never had problems conceiving or been around those who have.
I had no problem and I was always grateful for that, but it is hearbreaking seeing friends who have that problem. It made me more grateful for my babies.
Either way, you are entitled to your beliefs as long as they are not harming anyone.
But, at the same time, I agree she should be grateful. She has a lot more than most. I always find it amusing when stars are whining about x, y, or z because they have got so much.
Also, another baby is not going to be a playmate for Suri. If she had a baby in nine months, there will be three years difference. Also, if it was a boy, they will have totally different interests. That is a big age difference when kids are little. And I doubt she will let Suri near a newborn to ‘play’ with it.
Here is a logical thought: Let the kid have playmates her own age…arrange play dates!!
The issue I have with the story, and i think that is all this is as well as PR, is that KH is whining now that she isn’t getting the goodies or things her way. She was quick to sign herself and Suri up for when things were great and going her way, but now she pouts because her husband expects her to follow the COS guidelines…the same ones she agreed to legally!
I believe this is why Nicole Kidman became disillussioned with Scientology–She wanted a baby and TC and Church said ‘No IVF’. I know Kirstie Alley has the same problem, but she is fine with COS guidelines on the issue.
I guess Katie will get more auditing—that is COS guidelines for this issue.

why is she saying every time she is ACTUALLY interviewed that she doesn’t want kids right now? I think the story is bogus personally

I guess when it comes to technology and medicine, Im a little more old school myself! I don’t think that we should tinker with our bodies! We were made a certain way, if you are not able to conceive, I think it is meant to be that way! I was pregnant and lost it! I wanted a baby SO bad and did everything right! When I finally got pregnant, I was so excited! I lost the baby in my second tri. It was an extremely painful thing to go through, and I still don’t think I am completely over it! I do believe in my heart that for some reason, it wasn’t meant to be! Maybe I wasn’t ready? Maybe my body wasn’t ready? Who knows!
I just think that if we start trying to play God, there will be no end in what we will do! Let nature take its course.
I may not be able to have children, and I have accepted that! What happens will happen! If it doesn’t happen for me soon, then I have options like adoption!

fyi-the little girl from Poltergeist died from Crohn’s disease. Not sure what that has to do with her parents being Christian Scientists-which is just another form of Christianity and has no affiliation or anything to do with COS.

I believe CS don’t believe in doctors…..until it’s too late. I heard that had her parents taken her to the doctor regularly she would have lived

I honestly think people’s choices for having children should be their own, it is a subject that always has many different opinions. But if I wanted to try IVF I would only hope my husband would be on board. But stress could keep anyone from conceiving. And the way she is dressing lately, are we SURE she is NOT preg.?

That must be because of the Christian Science. That is an illness that if treated can be managed to a degree.

Ok back to Katie. Of course a new baby would not be an instant playmate for Suri. But if 2 children were close enough in age they could be company to each other. Suri probably only gets to play with other CoS children I imagine. Except maybe for the Becks who haven’t been seen with them in months.

Secondary infertility happens pretty frequently, but wow, in this case, it just fuels the fire for the rumor that Suri isn’t Tom’s. I feel for Katie, I know how frustrating it is to try and try and try.

Tom said he wanted tons of kids, and there is a means to that end, although he refuses to allow Katie to have the procedure (if this whole story is true). If the story is true, I wonder if Tom is afraid because it will be proven that he actually isn’t able to father children. Then who is Suri’s papa? I’m not so sure I believe the story. I would think Katie would be planning her escape, not trying to ensconce herself further into this nightmare. She looks so disconnected. I hope she finds herself, for her sake and for her beautiful little girl’s sake.

I am actually happy TC rejects IVF, so be it.
I really have no interests seeing another Suri held by KH walking down the streets of Manhattan in the middle of a freezing night, only covered under a blanket loosely.
Know which sighting I was talking about?
Even if it’s another Burberry blanket, still couldn’t cover Suri’s fatigue and helplessness. The child in the pictures wanted to be home, to be in bed and to be warm. No child wants be used that way.
So, I am kind of happy they have to slow down the process of producing another PR tools. Let people doubt how fertile KH is. Let people even wonder whether TC is Suri’s real father or not. So long as they don’t bring another indoctrination target to the world, so be it.

Didn’t Mimi Rogers divorced Tom Cruise for lack of ability to have children? He was also with Nicole Kidman awhile and she immediately get’s pregnant by Keith Urban, I’m sure it’s not for lack of trying why/that they had to adopt. Even before TC getting into Scientology he wasnt able to produce his “own” child.
Suri is a beautiful little girl, but has no features that connects her to TC.

We’ll probably NEVER know truth about Suri’s parentage; if COS doesn’t believe in invitro and Tom actually fathered Suri, then how come Katie can’t become preggers again with TC? and his other wives could not become pregnant? The only absolute in this situation is TC who could not father children with Mimi and Nicole. Now what are the odds that it is the women and not TC who cannot produce children? And Mimi is NOT talking, neither is Nicole, but Niki is preg. and Katie is not. If TC is not Suri’s sperm donor, then who pray tell is??????????? Again, we will NEVER know.

I doubt this story is true and I won’t bother even commenting.
Anxiel, Nicole and Keith got married in 2005 and have been trying for a baby since, she did not get pregnant immediately as you conveniently assume. They did use IVF and there is nothing wrong with that.
After two years clinging on conspiracy theories gets rather old.

TC will have to get another, much younger gal who is pregnant from someone else, so that he can pretend to be able to father children. Only a year, and katie is already a has-been.

Why do people insist they know what’s the truth in a couples life when they don’t know the people, no nothing about thier beliefs (eccept what the media and tabloids tell them) and talk as though they are experts. None of us know what is going on in this couples life. Let them be. I only see a happy family, but I’m not going to pretend to be an expert either so I am not going to speculate on what will happen. I hope the best for them and if Scientology is making them happy, then good. So far with the organization itself I can’t make any bad comments, because I have no idea really on what it’s about, BECAUSE I have never checked for myself and I am not going to have the media (full of half truths) and tabloids tell me what to think. I have seen a lot of charities the organization is involved in and I particularly like thier views against drugging children, so hey what’s to knock there.
