Tom Cruise is a Car Nut

Supposedly, Tom Cruise has a fleet of cars that all look normal on the outside, but in reality they are bomb-proof. Keeping his family safe is important to him and I guess he believes bomb-proof cars are necessary for the type of life he lives. All celebrities know that they have to be more careful than the rest of us. This makes me wonder though, if and how many, threats Cruise has had against him.
One insider has told In Touch, “A-list celebrities know they can’t be too careful. Tom’s vehicles look perfectly normal, but in reality they are more like armored trucks. He really, really loves his cars and he can afford the best.”
Cruise does have a professionally trained drivers who know how to get out of traffic problems and protect him from trouble. But Cruise also likes to drive his family places himself.
“Tom is a car nut,” the insider adds. “He has practical everyday cars, classic collectibles and high-powered sports cars like the Porsche 911 Turbo. Of course he loves every minute behind the wheel, but he’s not stupid and he’s not going to take any chances while he’s driving.”
Man, all I have to worry about is people running red lights and the day my kids get their licenses.

No Amy, attacks on other posters are not allowed. I think I’ve been pretty clear on that and have been deleting those as I see them.
TC lives a very ‘large’ life with all these houses, cars, planes, travel. Seems to be going constantly-I bet he can’t sit still a minute. Not sure if it is a happy life, however. Money can buy a whole lot of stuff and people around you, but real peace and happiness? Who knows?

Lauren: They are not MORMONS, despite what they call themselves. In fact, they have probably been excommunicated for practicing beliefs that are NOT Church doctrine. Get your facts straight. As a lawyer (if YOU really are one, which I doubt), you should know how to do verify facts before posting lies and rumors.
In Scientology, it is MAINSTREAM to ban those labeled SP from your life, non-believers and those who left the cult. (So yes, I am sure Nic is kept from her kids and her kids are taught to not talk to their mother.) In Scientology, the Fair Game doctrine is considered fine and mainstream. BAsically, you do what you have to protect the Church and its cash flows (i.e. Cruise and his wealth).
What other religion gets in people’s faces calling them wife beaters and murderers because they will not go for an introductory course? Answer: Only Scientology does that. And Lauren, it is on video from news organizations who have tried to meet with Scientology reps. of Scientology ‘missionaries’ doing that exact thing outside the celeb center.
Julie: I don’t think you are editing comments from the professed fans. They are the ones constantly breaking your site rules, calling everyone else ‘haters’, bringing up other topics, stirring the pot (as TIA calls it), and personally attacking people. I have found from talking with others that if the non-fans do complain here to your boss and B5, you put them in moderation and ban them all together.
It is amazing that Lauren has not at least been put in moderation. I am sure I will soon be banned or put into moderation for this comment.
Yes, the non-fans do attack back, but I notice it is mostly in response to the constant attacks from Lauren and others.

I think this should apply to you too! You talk about NK and her kids as if you know them and know what the kids are taught?…No one knows what goes on in their house. From the pics we’ve seen and from what NK said her kids do talk to her and see her.
I think Julie has been very fair with everyone. Two of my comments were deleted (even though I thought I didn’t attack anyone or broke any rules) lots of Lauren’s comments have been either edited or deleted.
Most of the “non-fans” starting with Amy, DonnorParty, Tyler (I read only once but she/he did apologized), B , PuckHappy, Con.mom have either attacked the fans, bring up other topics, advertise other websites (many times) or called Tom, Katie and Suri names BUT they are still post here.
Besides Julie started posting rumors and gossips to please the “non-fans”.

Anon, I am put into moderation from time to time, it is just that I don’t whine about it. I have had my comments deleted, that is OK because Julie is the administrator and I respect her decision. Where I have been cautioned, I have apologised. Saying that Julie favours fans is in your head.
I don’t care if you don’t believe that am a Lawyer, it doesn’t make me any less of one. I have not read anywhere about the mainstream Mormon church coming out strongly to distance themselves from the cult. All respectable media use that term. Maybe you are mormon and this insults you, I apologise, I don’t know how else to refer to them. I don’t care if they are mormon or whatever, my point is that they are worse than scientology and they have p*lygamous, inc*stious, pae*dophile relationships and yet none of the posters here is coming out strongly to attack them. If your fight is against cults, then go all out and condemn all of them, not select a few and a particular member.

I suppose the main reason that posters here don’t “strongly attack other cults” is because this isn’t a site for people belonging to one of them. It is a site about Tom Cruise (in part) and HE is attached to Scientology which many believe to be a cult. It would be inappropriate and off topic to bring in any other religion to bash it….even if people felt strongly about it. I don’t want to get in the middle of this war of the words but I just don’t think it would make sense to start criticizing other religions or the nameless, faceless people belonging to them when this is site about TC and KH. I also don’t think anyone is “terrorizing” anyone here. My goodness, that is a very strong word and a serious accusation to make. People coming to this site and expressing their dislike of a person’s actions, their religion, or their words is a far cry from terrorizing someone.
I thought this thread was about Tom being a car nut anyway? I read somewhere recently that Tom was either doing it or trying to make his cars bomb proof. It could just be a rumor but if it is true it is kind of weird. I think that celebs (since they have so much money) should set the good example for everyone and only use hybrids. That is just my opinion.
Lilianne, I confess I do visit anti scientology sites and scientology sites. Mainly because I would rather know what I am arguing about. I have read a lot on the subject in order to argue from an informed point of view. Some of the posters here post on these sites. However what bothers me is that many say their problem is cults, I don’t see them having any quarrel with other cults, they don’t even mention them, which leads me to think their problem is not cults perse. Also I notice that they do not visit this scientology sites as much as they come here to attack Tom and Katie and terrorise (I am using this figuratively) their families. Also some arguments are so far removed from their fight against cults. My argument is that this is all about harrassing Tom Cruise. Yes, some have a genuine grievance against scientology (to those I say, get over it, move on) but most are just hiding behind that veil.
I agree about celebs and their fake environmental concerns while doing the exact opposite of their campaigns. I do though doubt the rumour about the bomb cars is true.
Hi all, I’m new to tomkat - big howdie!
I think it’s cool he got his cars bullet & bomb proofed. So many people dislike him, I’d even go so far as to say some folks hate him, because of his success, his belief in Scientology, so many different things! If it makes him feel happier then I say go for it!
One thing though, I’m a lover, I’ve loved TC since TopGun, I come and check out the gossip on this site as often as I have time to do which isn’t that often! I also go to other sites with contents that I’m interested in. I don’t really have time to post very often though. What I certainly don’t do is waste my time on football sites (not keen on the old football!) and I certainly wouldn’t bother wasting my time posting comments on them.

Back to the actual topic, didn’t TC recently purchase a motorcycle that was around $100 grand?? BP got one too I think…He definitely is a collector of cars, bikes, planes. Does he have a yacht? I can’t remember. In the US stories spring up once in a while about a yacht named SU-RI but oddly enough there is one with that name but it doesn’t belong to Cruise. Just saw that story somewhere yesterday.

I read that story about the yacht named SU-RI. At first people thought it was TC’s (for obvious reason :)), but later they found out the owner was a wealthy private American. I wonder how that person came about to naming their yacht SuRi…

Just a note: this is a Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes fan site. Will I report the stories that are just gossip? Yes. If it’s out there, I will report it.
If you would like to argue Scientology, call it a cult, or speak harsh words about Tom Cruise and his family, please do so elsewhere. There are plenty of sites for you to do that, but not here.
I am going to start banning the ones who continue to be rude, discuss off topic stuff, or question me over and over again. Whether you are a fan or not.
