I got such a kick out of Tom beginning his presentation speech by talking about a “singular” woman he has known his entire… (pause) career. Of course he was describing Sherry, but for a split-second there, I could have sworn he was describing me, someone he has known for almost his entire life (since age 3).

Liz, I cried too when I heard Sherry talking about her relationship with Tom on ET later the next day. She said they had come a long way and she thought Tom had snubbed her at the Armani party. That when he whispered in her ears at the awards, she he was explaing the snub and telling her he loved her! So sweet!I think Tom is a really nice guy.

Libraesque, if you watched the Oscars, you will notice that his wisper was quite longer than than ‘don’t be nervous’. I know as a gay person you think Tom is you wrong not declaring that he was gay, but lets just imagine he is(I believe he is not)maybe he does not want to be, it is like having a special sight into the future and being able to predict things and you decide not to practice it. What is wrong with that? Scientists have found no gay gene, so it is a choice people make to get the most pleasure out of life. He does not want it so respect his choice. Besides, every one in hollywood says Brad is a closet gay and in his days as an escort he serviced both men and women, how come you have no beef with him? You have to learn to respect people’s choices. Gay people think if Cruise comes out every one’s attitude is gonna change, it won’t, so deal with it. Go nag Brad, clooney, Aiken and all other closets. Leave this one.

Anne Henche dated DeGeneres for a while and then got pregnant and married a man who she has since left for another man, why aren’t shouting that she is in the closet? Give us a break, you chose to be gay so be content and stop harrasing those who do not follow suit. If you are unhappy, then try out being hetero and see, but do not hold Tom Cruise accountable for your miserable and sad life.

Sumner Redstone, who famously blasted Tom Cruise over the summer, says he wants to be friends with the actor again.

“I haven’t talked with him recently,” Redstone told PEOPLE at Thursday’s Zodiac premiere in Hollywood. “But who knows, I look forward to seeing him again. He’s a great, great actor – one of the best. He was a great friend. And I look forward to being his friend again.”

Redstone, who is chairman of Paramount Pictures parent company Viacom, made headlines in August when he criticized Cruise’s behavior in the Wall Street Journal after revealing that the studio had ended its 14-year partnership with Cruise’s production company.

“We don’t think that someone who effectuates creative suicide and costs the company revenue should be on the lot,” Redstone told the newspaper. “His recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount.”

Cruise’s camp quickly fired back, with his lawyer, Burt Fields, telling the New York Times that Redstone’s comments about Cruise were “disgusting” and suggesting that Redstone, who is 83, had “lost it completely, or he’s been given breathtakingly bad advice.”

But Redstone told PEOPLE on Thursday he was “surprised” by the way his comments were interpreted.

“I didn’t know anything was going to be so explosive,” he said. “What happened was, I just gave an interview to the Wall Street Journal. In the course of it, they asked me what was going on. I said, you know, he would no longer be in the lot. They treated that like I was firing him. I didn’t fire him! I had nothing to do with it. But they treated it explosively. And I didn’t like it.”

Three months after his split from Paramount, Cruise signed a deal with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer to resurrect the United Artists movie studio – and, of course, married Katie Holmes in a lavish Italian ceremony.

Redstone told PEOPLE he hasn’t talked to Cruise and Holmes since the wedding. “I see the pictures of them. I haven’t seen him,” he said. “Of course, I had met him and her before they were married.”

Asked if the couple seemed happy, he said: “They do, they do. I’m happy for their happiness.”

Bumblebee, that is the point that am always trying to make. If the Tomkat affair is a farce and a contract, whose problem is it? Have they hurt you in any way? If Tom jumps on a couch, whose problem is it? I never understand people who claim they do not like being lied to. Who are you? Who told you to watch, is Tomkat a matter of national security? I can’t stand this trend of people thinking they own celebrities.

Honestly, I love TomKat for their entertainment value, they are both cute and funny as hell. These other celebs who REALLY ARE in love are sooo boring. ;-)

So who cares if Tom REALLY shares his bed with a guy named Charly, David, Gary or whoever. None of anyones business. But it sure is funny to watch these gay/lesbians get into huffs over that!! ;-))

Actually, I was not much of a Tom Cruise fan because though I admit he is a great actor, I always found him stuck up and his relationship with Nicole so boring. Then I saw him jumping on Oprah’s couch, ever since then I have been hooked onto Tomkat like a drug, eating up every news story and buying magazines. They are so refreshing and interesting and give a new meaning to love. If people could just sit back and enjoy, they will understand my sentiments, And their baby, gorgeous or what?

And Bumblebrain, just because I shamed you last week by posting the Penny Cruz quote saying that she and Holmes were not friends, don’t embarass yourself with this half ass attempt at doing the same. Sumner Redstone is a feeble, senile old man. Here is what he said in Vanity Fair just months ago when he still had SOME of his wits about him.

“When did I decide [to fire him]?’’ Redstone asks. “I don’t know. When he was on the Today show? When he was jumping on a couch at Oprah? He changed his handler, you know, to his sister—not a good idea. His behavior was entirely unacceptable to [my wife,] Paula, and to the rest of the world. He didn’t just turn one [woman] off. He turned off all women, and a lot of men.… He was embarrassing the studio. And he was costing us a lot of money. We felt he cost us $100, $150 million on Mission: Impossible III. It was the best picture of the three, and it did the worst.’’

The deal with Cruise/Wagner Productions was scheduled to lapse at the end of August. Redstone indicates he decided to cut ties to the company sometime last spring, waiting until the July time frame to notify Freston and Paramount’s C.E.O., Brad Grey. “I made my decision without their support; I didn’t tell anyone for months,’’ Redstone says. “But [eventually] I made my position clear to Tom and Brad, that he should be off the lot. They had some concerns.’’ In fact, Freston and Grey realized that “firing’’ an actor with Cruise’s visibility and track record, a highly unusual if not unprecedented move, would trigger a severe backlash in Hollywood’s creative community. Still, it was Redstone’s company, and they were his employees.

“This wasn’t just Sumner—he had a right to feel the way he did,’’ says a person involved in Paramount’s deliberations. “I mean, women didn’t go see the movie, because of Tom Cruise’s behavior. It showed up in the research.’’ Freston and Grey, this person says, had put a lowball bid on the table to renew the contract—$2.5 million, by all accounts—and everyone involved realized that both sides would probably allow the deal to quietly lapse. “The negotiations had started when Sumner weighed in,’’ this person says. “Brad had to get rid of the offer, which is a hard thing to do. They were working toward that. They understood where Sumner was coming from. They really did. They were trying to pull [the offer] back, and when they were trying to do that, Sumner went public. That’s when everything hit the fan.’’

Redstone characterizes his decision to “go public’’ as entirely an accident. A savvy Wall Street Journal reporter, Merissa Marr, caught wind of the story and telephoned Redstone at his home, and Redstone told her everything, castigating Cruise for his behavior. Redstone acknowledges his comments were unnecessary, but he brushes aside any suggestion he went public merely to re-assert his role as Viacom’s alpha dog. Still, there’s no denying the sparkle in his eyes as he recounts the reaction to his comments. Clearly, he loved every minute of it.

“I wasn’t looking for an explosion,’’ Redstone insists, “but I didn’t mind it. The explosion was good. It sent a message to the rest of the world that the time of the big star getting all this money is over. And it is! I would like to think that what I did, or what we did, has had a salutary effect on the rest of the industry.’’

Sorry to disappoint you but am not! I am atheist, so to me all religions are crazy, scientology , Islam Christianity etc.

It is just that I hate unfairness and people being criticised unfairly. Though I like Tom Cruise, more so these days, I was not happy at all when he criticised Brook since she was leading life the best way she knew how. True for a while her life was messed up but still for Tom to ‘attack her’ moreover publicly was very unfair.

Having said that, I really like Tom Cruise because he is principled, does not drink, do drugs, go to prostitutes, cheat on his wife or feel sorry for himself like most stars do.I have never heard anyone who knows him personally say a bad thing about him and that says a lot about a person same goes for Katie.

Like Mimi Rogers pointed out, why are people so quick to believe that it is a sham relationship, Tom is the biggest star in the world and Katie’s career was going places. Why do they need a sham affair, wedding, kid and all. Besides, why can’t they love each other, Tom is a meagastar hunk and Katie a young beautiful girl, what is there not to love? If people stopped to think and rationalise, most of these conspiracy theories do not make sense.

Iam also tired of this culture of people trying to crush anyone they percieve as better than them, I mean Tom has been an open scientologist for almost 20 years, why does every one decide it is a strange religion now?

For almost 30 years he has built his career with principles and diligence, now all lazy hags think it is unfair and have jumped at a chance to pull him down. Tell me what did he do wrong? Did he kill someone, rape someone? People have done worse but he jumps on the couch and suddenly people ‘can’t stand being lied to’ and decide to call him all names. Through it all, has he abused the paps? Has he complained? No, he did not even attack Redstone when he publicly ‘fired’ him.

I will not stand for it, I am going to stick up for him always, and good always triumphs, I have all the faith in him.

There are too many bad people for me to direct my anger on such good people as Tom and Katie. I like good people and always make a point to stick up for them in the face of unfairness.

What would quash Pellicanos Enforcer more than a pregnancy? He was elated, and danced and jumped around. How happy he must have been to think the gay thing would finally be a thing of the past.
He was wrong. They over did it in public. It screamed they were trying too hard to convince people and had something to hide.

She turned up in October looking approximately 6 months pregnant. And in Feb. was photographed with a completely flat stomach
In November the kid was photographed with hard soled shoes that were scuffed from walking!!!

Nothing about the Cruise/Holmes union makes a damn bit of sense. You don’t have to rape someone or kill someone for the public to be outraged.

I never understand people like Libraesque who have so much negativity in them. Tom is getting better and better and I cannot wait for his new movie and Katie’s. Good luck to them. Who knows why people do the things that they do? Are you one of those people who labels everything as evil if you cannot explain it? They have their reasons for the things they do. It is not upto us to wage a war on them because they have not told us their best sex positions.

You are a hypocrite to attack people who inquire into the lives of Brad and Angelina and then the same person you, WAGE A WAR on Tom cruise for not divulging secrets of his private life. It was not working with Nic and as his personal hater that is all you need to know.

Am sure even if Tom himself gave you answers to thos equestions you would still be jealous of him. My guess is that you are not concerned for either Nic or Katie but you have a deep seated jealous of any one better than you. Your biggest problem is that Tom refused to say that he was gay.

My advice is that you need help to make peace with your sexuality. You should be happily gay even if you were the only gay person on earth. It seems as though you will only accept yourself if Tom said he was gay too. You sound like those people made a choice to be gay but cannot make peace with yourself so they call every one gay and get angry if some one says they are not.

You are always posting many comments on JJ, I think you like Angelina because you feel a kinship to her because of her past hatred for herself and her lesbian behaviour.

I will keep my fingers crossed that you get well. And with time you make peace with yourself and accept who you are not depending on TCs choices.

Maybe he didn´t love her anymore after 10 years. Hollywood marriages have broken up much sooner than that prior and post Tom and Nicole. Brad and Angelina have also a bastard child and aren´t married, now they adopt again.. without being married. If they´re so in love, why don´t they marry?

And maybe he didn´t say more than that because they wanted to keep that private and not share each detail of their private life with the world, much less something this delicate and even if only for the sake of their children. Ever thought of that? The public doesn´t have the right to know everything about celebs.

#32, I’m not a hypocrite, I bash the AJ haters on the appropriate boards. ANd the fact that a person who can’t even spell or form a rational thought is commenting on my sexuality is a JOKE. You know NOTHING about me, have never met me, don’t know anything about my life. I stick up for AJ because I think as a woman it’s deplorable that other woman bash her. It’s absolutely UNREAL that someone who has made SO MANY positive changes in the world, has given so much time energy money, etc to those in need.
