Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Make PopSugar Top 100 List
PopSugar has come out with their second annual PopSugar 100 List and Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes made the cut!
Their list is formulated based on their readers’ votes on each celebrity’s likability, talent, style, class and looks. They then mix in their “Pop Factor” which is their secret recipe of how many times a celebrity has been written about, views on a story about them and the number of comments. With over 20 million votes Tom & Katie made the cut!
Tom Cruise came in at number 11 and Katie Holmes came in at number 26. Be sure and click on those links to read a short summary of Tom and Katie’s year.

No surprise to me, more people look at Tomkat posts and comment on them than other celebrities. They are so big that, of all celebrities you’ll get the most viruses and spam from searching them.

Anabel..i totally agree with you, but one of the best photos i think i’ve ever seen of tom and katie was from the MET GALA night, it wasa full cover photo on our WHO mag which is the sister to your PEOPLE mag, tom and katie were pressing noses and they both had these huge smiles, it wasn’t a posed photo, it was just so nice

Hardly a surprise. Online haters are loud but regular happy citizens that get past the media and ignore the tabloids are numerous. The praises for Cruise on “Tropic Thunder” are making powerful waves.I watched “TDK” this weekend and my friends including myself thought Katie was a more capable actress than Maggie. Even the pairing of Bale/Gyllenhaal backfires they dont smolder. Bale/Holmes had little interaction on “BB” but their chemistry was there and Katie is the kind of woman you believe Bruce and Harvey would pine for.

Katie looks vibrant in that picture?? I thought she looked well a bit too orange.. This is not one of my favorite pictures of her. But I have decided to chalk it up to the event they were attending. Some kind of super-hero thing right?? There are so many prettier pictures of her out there then this one.

I do have to say I miss Katie’s old nose! It crinkled so adorably when she grinned. This new nose doesn’t have the same sweetness. I hope she doesn’t have anymore surgeries done!
I wonder if Tom was behind it, but if he likes it when she sticks her tongue between her teeth when she grins, why wouldn’t he like her nose crinkles?
I love Katie’s natural beauty.

Anabel, as far as I read Katie hasn’t done anything with her nose, that is just a rumor and according to that same rumor she supposedly had “he nose done” way before she met TC.

Hana, her nose now is different from her Dawson’s Creek nose. And I loved that nose, it gave her that girl-next-door quality, part of her uniqueness.
Maybe Katie felt she needed to show the world that “Joey Potter” had grown up and moved on. She has become a truly beautiful woman.

I wish people would not jump to conclusions, people’s noses change with lighting, age, pregancy etc. Magazines have been sued for alleging people have had their noses done and putting side by side pictures with different lighting in different years as evidence. now am not saying that Katie would not do surgery but to say she has done it because her critics allege so based on pictures is unfair. I know they want to prove she is not perfect, (of course she is not!) but telling lies to get that point across is a bit extreme.
i am not calling you a liar, just that it is not a fact that she has had her nose done. in your post, you make it seem as though it is.

I think a ranking on popsugar would be the equivalent of a National Enquirer rating. Have you guys honestly read some of the bizarre stories that Popsugar posts about Cruise and other celebs. NOt exactly a reliable source.
But, if it is positive, it must be true–vomit!

I’ve never heard of a nose changing because of pregnancy!! LOL!! I’ve had 3 pregnancies and have seen countless more and I’ve never seen a nose change AFTER the pregnancy. I’ve also never heard of any publication being sued for alleging that someone had a nosejob. It’s so prevelent in this town that it’s ridiculous!! It seems as if no one has the original bodyparts!! LOL!
I think Katie’s had work done as well, although obviously it can’t be stated as a fact since she or her people have not come out and confirmed it. However the pics are pretty convincing for me. Celebrities usually don’t confirm things like that anyway. The entire shape of her nose has changed since her DC days IMO.
Just my opinion….

If the ranking is based on comments made, that’s not necessarily a positive thing, IMHO. Alot of comments on these silly gossip sites are extremely negative, especially when it comes to Tom.

Lauren, thanks for posting that adorable picture! I truly believe Katie did have surgery on her nose after Dawson’s Creek because there is no way makeup could “thin” a nose down that much. There are pictures of her face side by side that show her then and now.
Just because Katie had a nose job doesn’t make me think less of her! It is a personal choice. If she were to get double-D boobs, then I would be negative!
I just miss her old nose! And the new one doesn’t crinkle as great as the old one did! - LOL, that sounds silly, doesn’t it?

Given that popsugar is an on-line tabloid, I’m actually surprised they didn’t rate higher, particularly Katie. I would have thought #3 or 4.

Why with no confirmation but just supposition are people missing Katie’s ‘old’ nose?
I remember Katie saying that as a child she broke her nose. Don’t remember her saying anything else about it. I have never even seen this in those rags, even enquirer (hope I haven’t given them ideas LOL) It was a rumour started by people who don’t like tomkat around the internet. Tabloids didn’t even bother picking it up and they have picked up some rubbish from blogger’s theories.
Her nose looks the same to me and it is perfect.

By the way, Scarlett Johanson sued Us weekly over a nose job story. They also used side by side pictures and drew such conclusions. She had also been featured on a plastic surgery internet site where the story originated. Just google it.

When you google the story, notice that in the pictures, her nose does look different, it doesn’t mean she had work done on it. Do you mean your noses look the same in each and every picture you take?
I agree pop sugar is rubbish. Why would we even care for their lists.

That’s true Anne, but I’ve never known the change to be permanent! They swell along with the entire face sometimes, but they go back to normal after delivery. Mine never did, but some women have that problem.
Personally, my opinion regarding Katie having work done does not come from a gossip site or someone’s blog. It’s something I noticed all on my own. ;) When I look at pictures of her during her DC days and then look at current pictures, I see a definite difference that can’t be explained by just a different angle or the way a picture was taken. Her nose is much thinner, especially at the bridge and a little less “pugged” (is that a word? LOL!) than it was. IMHO, she had it done.
I guess we’ll have go agree to disagree on this one Anne! :)
In any case, Katie is a beautiful woman. I love her high cheekbones and her lovely full lips. She’s really, really pretty!

Katie’s face looks nice now as it did pre tc. In the above pictures, I don’t see “love” in Katies face, I see a “this is a blast” look. I am NOT saying she is not in love. I’m just saying that she looks more like she is having fun.
They both look like they are roll playing and having fun doing it.
Now don’t anyone try to read anything bad or hateful into my post. It is all good.
I’m just saying that they do not look “in love”. Which makes sense, they are not at a romantic event. They are at a fun event and they look like they are playing a fun part.

But Charlotte, you could also argue that scarlett’s nose looks different and indeed it does, she however insists she did nothing to it and I believe her, she has no cause to lie.
I noticed too that in the latest pictures, Katie’s nose is flatter, some pictures it is pointed others it is flat-ish. I don’t think she had work done. I don’t believe either that it is an innocent comment made in passing. If there was nothing wrong with it, Scarlett would not have thrown a hissy fit when usweekly imputed that she has had her nose done. Notice that posters who have admitted not liking this family are the ones that are supporting your case for a plastic nose. That alone should tell you that it is not a nice thing. Saying that she is still beautiful does not change that.

Annie, good observation she used to have a round face with full cheeks, do you mean that her cheeks are done too? after all sometimes they look round and other pictures they sink in. At this rate i wouldn’t be surprised if someone started ‘missing’ her old cheeks and saying the new ones look nice too. LOL………..

It is usually two-three years after a relationship begins that a couple settles down from that ‘high strung’ (infatuation) love of being in a new relationship. They settle into a more lasting love. The problem with our society is that we tend to associate love with that new ‘high strung’ love (i.e Hollywood’s portrayal of romance) and that things have to be always like that. No one can maintain that because it is exhausting and it will not carry the couple through rough times. It is also because reality sets in, you have to go on with life, and you do become familiar and comfortable with that person.
What replaces it, though, is something more deeper and longer lasting. You also have to work it to keep it going. Most people depend on feelings to carry them through that they forget to work on it. At that point, your seven to ten years into a marriage and you are trying to figure out what happen and why you ever loved that person. Some work to rekindle the deeper love, others just choose to end it because it is not the perfect Hollywood romance from the movies anymore.
That being said, I think they are having fun too in this pic. I think Katie likes the role of the princess in the long gowns.
In terms of these two, who knows where they are at? And time will tell what will or will not happen. But, yes, they are past infatuation/high-strung love point in their relationship, which is great.

I agree that love changes too. I also believe that it’s best if one allows the infatuation to grow into a deeper love before they get married. The long-term chances are much better that way. I’m not targeting the Cruises alone on this one, but also most of Hollywood.

Anon, what a great post and observation! I think all the criticism has helped them bond together. Us against the world kind of thing. I look at couples like Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong, both are building a reputation of not sticking around when the excitement dies down, but you can’t live like that.
