Tom and Katie Go For a Jog in Boston

September 21, 2009 by Julie Bonner

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise go for a jog along the streets of Boston, Massachusetts today (September 21), where Tom is filming his newest movie “Wichita”. And while others will scream “PHOTO OP!”, I scream “GO TOM AND KATIE!”. I love the fact that they exercise together.

tom and katie

This is the second time we have seen Tom and Katie jogging together in the last month. Back at the end of August the couple were seen jogging together in Melbourne, Australia where Katie was filming “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark”.

Katie and Tom have on matching jogging outfits today, just like they did back in Melbourne. Today they opted for a gray shirt and black pants. Looking good! A few more pictures below.

Has anyone seen the latest pics from today of Suri and Katie out shopping. Suri is wearing high heels!! I’m mortified!! My daughter used to love playing dress up with my high heels when she was Suri’s age, but to let her wear them while walking the streets and shopping? NEVER!! A child’s arch is just developing at that age. It’s bad for her feet, not to mention totally and completely inappropriate!! First it was lipstick and now high heels! Makes me think of Jon Benet Ramsey!! I wish Katie and Tom would use better judgement!!

  2. Mary says:

There are clear Cinderella shoes………….Very appropriate for kids that age.
There’s always a car with Katie and she has a bag, it’s quite possible Suri has other shoes in them.

    Those pictures are too cute!

  3. Mary says:

LOL Julie. I just read what you wrote……….I scream GO TOM AND KATIE too! :)

  4. annie says:

Those shoes don’t bother me, Suri loves dressing up, she probably changes shoes and clothes all day long. They are such a perfect fit on her, and as long as they are only 1 off , thats ok.
I must admit, loved the pic of Suri and Katie sitting together on the step of the building, it was a lovely pic. Gosh, so much to say today !

  5. ari says:

the shoes are fine, suri looks cute, and I agree the pic of katie and suri together on the step is priceless, they look way to cute, LOVELY :)

  6. Starkist says:

Those shoes are fine and aren’t hurting Suri’s arch. Trust me I work in the medical field and wearing high heels is not going to hurt Suri’s arch!

  7. dido says:

cinderella shoes are for little girls so what is the matter, ı think it is normal and suri is so cute

  8. Zigzag says:

I really admire Katie’s physique…how tall is she and how much do you think she weighs? I’m not talking about the info you can get from Googling info or anything (I don’t think it is accurate), but do any of you have a fair idea of how tall she is and how much she weighs? I’d say around 5″8 tall, and 120 lbs? What do you think? I only ask as I think she looks gorgeous and I’m really curious about the measurements LOL.

  9. annie says:

There are so many good pics at Zimbio of them jogging, and about 45 pics of Katie and Suri, more on Suri Cruise Italia, Suri changed from her heels to sneakers. This is a true feast.
Zigzag, I read that Katie is 5″9. She seems to me to have put on some weight, and looks much better, and her face is more rounded, love how she’s looking, really cute. Have no idea how much she weighs, but it seems a good weight now , not like in NY and the beginning of the year, she looked thin. I’ve always thought that tall girls who are a bit rounded look spectactular, being tall it probably wouldn’t hurt to put on few pounds more , just a few, actually a bit of weight really suits her, Well, Ive said everything , but havn’t answered your question, its hard to guess, I don’t know.

  10. annie says:

    Hi Jenna and Lauren

Where are you guys …come back!

  11. Lauren says:

CR, you have never seen a 3 year old in cinderella heels? Really? or painting their faces for fun? Now you are the one being too harsh. Who else do you think those shoes are made for? Adults, with that size of feet? Once again too much hoopla about nothing. I actually love those pictures they are so cute for words. Suri is so grown and like her father said, a real girly girl.

  12. Charlotte Rose says:

Lauren, I have a daughter and she has friends, and NO, I have never seen a child of that age SHOPPING in high heels. I live in LA and we see people all the time, by the way. ;) It may be nothing to you, but OBJECTIFYING a child of that age by dressing her the way Katie did in INAPPROPRIATE in my opinion. Don’t you remember the Jon Benet Ramsey case?!?! You guys can make excuses all you like, but that won’t change my opinion. Suri is not “grown” as you assert!!! My God….what 3 year old is considered “grown”!! That’s ridiculous. The entire situation is inappropriate.

I’m sorry guys, but I disagree with all of you.

  13. Mary says:

Let’s see now………..Pink T-shirt, ruffle skirt with petticoat, Hello Kitty bag, Barbar the elephant toy and holding mum’s hand while walking around town and from pics shown having other shoes on hand as well.
I either need to get out more or maybe my eyes are deceiving me when I see other kids dressed similarly in NYC, LA and countless other cities, towns and countries.

    Priceless!

  14. Mary says:

I forgot the Cinderella shoes!……..Too, too cute! :)

  15. Mary says:

I can just imagine Suri asking to wear her Cinderella shoes and Katie saying yes but we’ll take another pair of shoes just in case your feet get tired………..Again………just too cute!

  16. Julie Bonner says:

Charlotte – comparing Suri to Jon Benet seems a little extreme to me. When my daughter was Suri’s age, I never knew what she wanted to wear, but I was told to let her be and express herself the way she wants…even if that meant her wearing something that I thought was ridiculous. She’s now 12 and is one very creative and well-rounded young lady/.

Jon Benet was in pageants with fake hair, a fake tan, complete makeup, hose, and on and on and on. She walked down a runway for crying out loud. Suri is out shopping with her mom and she looks as cute as can be.

  17. Julie Bonner says:

Mary – yeah, I love the fact that Katie lets Suri be Suri and doesn’t worry about the criticism. It’s hard enough being a young, new mom in the regular world. I can’t imagine everything I did as a mom being picked apart in front of the whole world.

A friend of mine was out with her little one the other day and had a woman call her son (who was having a bit of a temper tantrum) a brat under her breath. The nerve! Us moms need to support each other, not attack and make accusations. Okay, I am done venting. :)

  18. Charlotte Rose says:

    Hello Julie,

We’ll have to agree to disagree then, my dear. :) I have a daughter as well and as I said, she has friends. All had shoes with heels for play but they weren’t worn out of the house for safety reasons. A 3 year old’s muscles and bones are still developing, not to mention the fact that tripping is definitly a concern. As a parent, I put my foot down as did the parents of the other little girls my daughter played with. Thats not a bad thing when something is inappropriate or dangerous. Wearing heels at the age of 3 can’t be good for a child’s feet. That’s my opinion and although it may be different than those of the other posters here, it does come from a place of concern.

I didn’t “attack or make accusations” and I’m surprised as the moderator of a site that allows differing opinions that you would step in and say that. Aren’t you supposed to be atleast somewhat neutral? I’m fairly sure Katie is not reading this site. I don’t think my little opinion would crush her. I’m just a poster on a message board, after all. All you and others had to do was agree to disagree.

By the way, my daughter is 13 now. She’s wonderfully creative. Quite the artist. She’s well rounded, does amazingly well in school, has a multitude of friends and knows what will be allowed and what will not. Hubby and I did well with all 3 of our children. ALL are doing incredibly well and seem no worse for the wear for having a few rules and parents that care enough to step in when something is not appropriate for their ages.

That’s the end of my responses. I’ll just have to disagree with you all.

  19. Charlotte Rose says:

    Mary,

I have no problem with the rest of Suri’s outfit. The top, skirt and little bag are all adorable. The skirt isn’t my taste, but I have no issue with it. My problem is solely with her shoes from both a physiological and psychological perspective. It’s just an opinion from a Mother who wouldn’t allow it. That’s all.

You girls all have a nice day!!

  20. kate says:

OBJECTIFYING is a little extreme. IMO Katie is raisimg Suri like her mother raised her. In 2002 Katie was on the show Revealed with Jules Asner her mother(they interviewed family, freinds, movie and DC cast) said she would let her dress herself and that she fely other people were thinking she was crazy for letting their child dress like that. Her mom said she read a book on how to raise a strong willed child and one of the things the book stressed was pick your battles. You save the important decisions for you(the parent)and the child makes less important decisions. When you (the parent)make decisons you give the reason and rational behind it. One of the childs jobs is to rebel and with a stong willed child it is more frequent and if you are always telling them what to do you will always be in a battle. If you(the parent) let them make decisions the child will become confident in their decision making abilities and less combative. When the big decisions come along they will be able to listen and reason through the process instad of reacting.
I had to do the same thing with my second son (because what we did with the first did not work to well) and the difference is night and day.

  21. Charlotte Rose says:

Again, kate….it’s my opinion. Am I allowed that? I thought I was!!

Maybe I’m wrong and maybe I’m being too sensitive, but if feels as if you’re lecturing me on raising children. If that’s not the case, I apologize. As I said, I have 3 very successful, very well adjusted and very bright children. We adjusted our parenting based on their personalities. We allowed them their individuality and their creativity and it worked out very well for us.

At this point, I’m starting to feel a bit “jumped on” and judged for having a different opinion than the majority of the board! What happened to agreeing to disagree? Why are my parenting skills being called into question, if that is indeed what you mean in your post?

You guys are worried about how Katie would feel when she will never see my comments, but seem to have no concern about how I would feel regarding all your comments. I’m here. Katie’s not.

  22. Mary says:

I can’t get enough of those pics ………….So precious! :)

Also, Babar the elephant is a great series of children’s books that teaches children valuable lessons.

  23. kit says:

Went on Just Jared to see what the fuss is all about.

    I’m with the majority here – Suri’s Katie’s business.

She’ll be starting school soon enough and then all the photo excursions will likely stop and we can get back to analyzing Tom, who BTW has packed on a few lately. Jogging is good.

  24. Julie Bonner says:

Okay, agreeing to disagree sounds good to me. I just felt that the comparison was a little extreme, especially when it involves a little girl that was murdered. That’s sensitive territory there.

And my “attacking and making accusations” statement was regarding the woman who called my friend’s child a brat. I thought that was so rude!

    Let’s move on now. :)

LOL. He looks good to me but I like that he’s back to running more. He used to run quite a bit.

    Julie,

I disagree that the “comparison is a little extreme”. Jon Benet’s mother set her up from early childhood to parade her sexuality at an early age when it’s very unnecessary to do so. She dressed her inappropriately….etc. That was what I was referring to. Jon Benet was far too advanced for her years, thanks to her Mother. Children should be dressing like children, not small adults IMO.

Obviously, I was incorrect in thinking your “attacking and making accusations” comment was directed toward me, but it sure felt that way considering the other comments. I was feeling very attacked myself at that moment for having another opinion.

At this point, I ask that if anyone can’t agree to disagree that they simply ignore my comments if they make them uncomfortable. My opinion is just that. My opinion. I think I’ve been hit with enough abuse for one day. Thanks and have a good one.

  27. Charlotte Rose says:

Interesting that I’m now “awaiting moderation” when that has not been the case recently. Guess that’s what I get for being an independant thinker. LOL!! :)

  28. Julie Bonner says:

Charlotte – I didn’t put you in moderation. We have had this discussion before. Sometimes it moderates, sometimes it doesn’t. There are times when I don’t have control. Right now I can’t even log in! Argh.

  29. that, good But I love to walk better, it good for you. take care tom susie kuby stassi,

  30. kate says:

I was not commenting on you Charlotte Rose but commenting on the OBJECTIFYING comment you made about Katie and Suri. I do not make a comment on the people making the comments.
In my comment you(the parent) is from what Kathy Holmes said she read about raising a strong willed child.
The comment said IMO about how Katie is raising Suri not you Charlotte Rose.
I am not worried about Katie feeling anything about what you said.
I am not liking that I made you feel I was saying something against you so please do not think that.

Thanks kate. You’re very kind. Perhaps I was being too sensitive considering the bashing I’ve received today. Thank you for being so nice. I really appreciate it.

  33. Lauren says:

Daily mail has a whole set of pictures and you can see that Suri had pink canvass shoes later on. I don’t think Katie is careless, just picking her battles. The pictures are too cute, can we just leave it at that?

  34. Zigzag says:

Thanks Annie, she is tall at 5″9, and I agree with you that Katie does look nicer a little rounded out. Just adorable.
