The Guinness Book of World Records Calls Tom Cruise Most Powerful Actor
I wonder how the Guinness Book of World Records decides on these kinds of awards:
Till now, Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie had nothing in common except for a certain Mr Brad Pitt. But things have changed. Both the actresses, who make up the past and the present of Pitt’s love life, have been awarded the shared title of ‘Most Powerful Actress’ in the Guinness World Records book.
The new book also announces that in spite of his sofa antics Tom Cruise has regained his crown as Most Powerful Actor pushing Johnny Depp off the top spot.
Cruise regains his record thanks to his earnings from ‘War of the Worlds’ and the massive PR coverage from his high profile relationship with Katie Holmes and their baby Suri. Samuel L Jackson shows his worth by being awarded the title of the Highest Grossing Actor at the Box Office with 75 films that have grossed over £3.95 billion worldwide, while Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson celebrate their record for Highest Average Box-Office Gross per Movie with a whopping £143.5 million each. Funny man Baron Cohen and his film ‘Borat’ break the record for Highest Grossing Mockumentary with earnings of $157,470,996 in 2006. And it’s official – ‘Spiderman 3’ won the war of the trilogies beating ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 3’ to the record for Highest Box Office Film Gross for the Opening Weekend with a staggering £75.7 million!
