Tom Falls From Top Ten, First Time in a Decade
June 1, 2009 by Julie Bonner
In the latest ranking of Hollywood’s most bankable actors, Tom Cruise has dropped from the top ten for the first time in a decade. He placed 11th with 80 points. His latest film “Valkyrie”, grossed $200 million worldwide.
Tom’s good friend Will Smith topped the list, scoring 96 out of a possible 100 points. Smith’s last three movies averaged $459 million in worldwide box office and has climbed the list, ranking 12 in previous rankings.
The list is compiled by author James Ulmer, whose book “Actors Hot List” ranks the box-office clout of 1,400 actors. The rankings are based on a survey of more than 100 movie buyers and sellers. A former editor and columnist for the Hollywood Reporter, Ulmer resumed publication of his annual list this year after taking a year off.
Who else made the list? Following Will Smith is: Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Will Ferrell, Reese Witherspoon, Nicolas Cage, Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe.
Can Tom Cruise climb the list again and make it back into the top ten?

Tom Cruise’s Spaghetti Carbonara Recipe
March 29, 2009 by Julie Bonner
Way back in November of 2003, Tom Cruise went on the Oprah Winfrey show and cooked his special Spaghetti Carbonara. Katie Holmes talked about how good it was in her interview with Glamour Magazine. She said, ““We love the outdoors. Once when we were camping Tom made his pasta carbonara for me.
“He knows exactly how to do it. A pinch of this, a pinch of that. He has a recipe, but he also kind of improvises by himself. You have to do the egg at a certain time.”
For fun, I thought I would post the recipe here, in case any of you want to give it a go. I think I might! I’ll let you know how it turns out.
Ingredients
* good first cold press extra virgin olive oil, 1/2 inch in large saute pan (Don’t skimp on oil quality!)
* 2 garlic cloves, minced, to taste
* 1 chopped onion, to taste
* 8-12 slices pancetta, thick slices (Italian bacon)
* 4 eggs
* 2 (16 ounce) packages spaghetti (use your good judgement on quanity, we eat alot!..you may not!)
* 2 cups fresh grated parmesan cheese or parmigiano-reggiano cheese (Again, don’t skimp on quality!)
* crushed red pepper flakes
* salt & fresh ground pepper
Directions
1.Put 1/2 inch of olive oil in sauté pan.
2.Add 2 cloves (or more) chopped garlic, onion and bacon cut into small squares.
3.Let simmer 30 minutes, don’t let mixture boil!
4.During last 10 minutes of simmering add crushed red pepper flakes if using (I used 1 teaspoon).
5.In bowl, beat 4 eggs with lots of salt and fresh ground pepper.
6.Cook spaghetti until al dente.
7.Drain and immediately add egg mixture to pasta. (The pasta needs to be real hot in order for the eggs to cook).
8.Stir until eggs are cooked.
9.Mix into sauté pan and finish with the grated cheese.
10.ENJOY!

Tom Cruise, Jimmy Kimmel Live Promo
February 22, 2009 by Julie Bonner
If you watched the 2009 Oscars and didn’t take a potty break during the commercials, then you probably saw the Tom Cruise promo for Jimmy Kimmel Live.
I wish that Tom and Katie would have been walking the red carpet for something this year, but this promo was the next to best thing. It is hilarious!
It starts off with Tom and Jimmy (okay, 2 stunt men) falling through a window of a burning house. They get up, and Tom says, “Jimmy Kimmel, man you saved my life.”
Tom goes on to say, “I’ll do your show. But please save my cat.” Jimmy runs into the burning house, a big explosion occurs and Tom walks away saying, “I don’t have a cat.”
I literally laughed out loud! It’s so great to see Tom Cruise on TV.
Injured Valkyrie Extras Offered Settlement
August 29, 2008 by Julie Bonner
(Photo above is of Valkyrie extras filming a scene.)
The studio bosses from Tom Cruise’s movie “Valkyrie” have offered the 12 injured extras a settlement. The actors claim that they were injured when they were thrown from a vehicle while filming a scene. Most of the injuries were minor, excluding one who was hospitalized for serious injuries.
The extras were seeking out $11 million in compensation. Although United Artists have offered them a settlement, they have yet to react to it.
Charles Woebcken, president and chief executive of Studio Babelsberg AG, which co-produced the film with United Artists, says, “We have offered a settlement. But they haven’t even reacted.”
Woebcken made another interesting statement that had me scratching my head. He didn’t approve of the extras not coming to him first and instead, leaking the story to the media. He said, “In America, these things happen. You have a different system in Germany. If you lose an arm, it’s not worth a million dollars.”
I have no word on what the settlement they were offered is. I’ll update this story as I find out more information.

Tom Cruise Rep Says Katie Had Nothing to Do With Family Moving Out
August 1, 2008 by Julie Bonner
When Tom Cruise’s mother and sister moved out of their house, everyone was very quick to blame Katie Holmes for the move. A rep for Tom Cruise has spoken out about the move and has dismissed any claims saying, “This has nothing to do with Katie“.
Tom’s mom and sister have lived with him at his house in Beverly Hills, CA since 2001. For reasons, none of us know about (and really…it’s none of our stinkin’ business anyway!!), both his mom and sister have moved out. Sometimes, it’s just time to move on. I imagine Suri Cruise enjoyed having her grandma and aunt so close!

Spoiler About Tom Cruise’s ‘Tropic Thunder’ Role
July 30, 2008 by Julie Bonner
I was over at JustJared checking out pictures of Rihanna’s private Tropic Thunder screening and there was a little blurb abut Tom Cruise’s role in the movie. Here it is:
SPOILER ALERT!!! As reported by NYT, Tom Cruise has a rather large role in the film, “a surprise portrayal of a bald, hairy-chested, foulmouthed, dirty-dancing movie mogul.” Every other word coming out of his character’s mouth is an expletive! And as an extra treat, Tom closes out the movie with some dirty “air spanking” to hip-hop music. All in his fat suit!
This is the first I have heard of the “air spanking“. Interesting. I am trying to picture Tom Cruise in a fat suit cursing and air spanking to hip hop music. I am having a very hard time picturing it all. This definitely sounds like a role where Tom possibly had to step out of his comfort zone.
You can see Tom Cruise’s air spanking in theaters on August 15th. LOL.
A Video Clip About Tom Cruise and His Past and Present Relationships
July 25, 2008 by Julie Bonner
I am a little short on TomKat news today, so I am having to do some digging to find something for us to talk about. I found this video clip about Tom Cruise and his past and present relationships.
I was disappointed and surprised when I heard that him and Nicole Kidman were splitting. It was one of those romances I thought would last forever. And then there was Penelope Cruz. They definitely seemed happy and I had forgotten that they dated for three years. It was reported that busy film schedules caused the break up.
Now he’s found Katie Holmes and despite everything this couple has had to endure with the media, they seem happy and have a beautiful daughter. I truly hope this relationship last for them. I know its Hollywood, but I can hope right?
Tom Cruise Rep Says Top Gun Sequel Rumors are False
July 23, 2008 by Julie Bonner
The other day I mentioned that there was a possibility of Tom Cruise reprising his role as Maverick in a Top Gun sequel. Well, it appears that those rumors were false.
Access Hollywood contacted a spokesperson from Paramount (who released “Top Gun” in 1986) and they said there was “no way” Tom Cruise would be returning to the role. A rep for Tom Cruise also told them that the rumors are false.
I wonder why the spokesperson said “no way” or if they really did say that. You never know what is true these days when it comes to quotes. Well, I for one am disappointed to hear this and I hope that if they decide to do a sequel, Tom would be asked, and if he’s asked, that he says yes.
I’ll just wait and see what happens and not believe anything for now.
David Beckham Says That Tom Cruise Has Been a Great Friend to Him
July 18, 2008 by Julie Bonner
David Beckham was on Fox & Friends for a 2 part segment. He talked about his friendship with Tom Cruise and what it’s meant to him.
“I’ve known Tom for about 4 or 5 years and he’s been a great friend to me. He’s looked after me. He’s told me where to go and what to do. He’s been very supportive, not just for me, but to the family as well. It’s always good to find good people and good friends.”
I have always heard Tom’s friends say what a great friend he is and how supportive he is of everyone. It seems that he is also very supportive of Katie Holmes and her career projects.
