ABC.com has released a great sneak peek of Katie Holmes’ song and dance number on her “Eli Stone” guest appearance. This is definitely a side of Katie we have never seen before. I love the look on her co-star’s face as she is dancing. He has the cutest little smirk.

Watch the clip of Katie and tell me what you think of her singing and dancing.

Considering she’s not a professional singer/dance, it’s pretty good. MUCH better than her singing on Dawson’s Creek, although I’m not sure if this song is best for her voice (e.g. the high notes), but definitely pleased that she doesn’t sound like a kid (On My Own).

I don’t think this outfit / hairstyle is best for her. Also, it would have been nice to see more full body shots.

  2. jenna says:

what??? is she serious? that song is completely out of her range….clearly, she is not a soprano. I am embarrassed for her! Plus, she would have looked much sexier with a long haired wig on!

  3. kristi says:

For just a short clip, I was really impressed with Katie! She is so talented and beautiful. I bet there’s a lot they are not showing so you watch the show!

    Great job Katie!

  4. Amber says:

she makes me uncomfortable. i’m embrassed for her.

  5. annie says:

Like the picture, like the singing, hate the hair , to me, its like Katie wants to get rid of the old Katie totally, its like she wants to invent a whole new Katie. I would prefer to see abit of both Katies mixed together instead of this short haired thin masculine Katie that we see every day, but obviously she likes this look , otherwise she’d change it, right?

  6. zagzag says:

I love Katie Holmes, but I’m not impressed with this clip. She looks chunky, the hair is not flattering to her beautiful face. I’d say bad make-up and costume are mainly responsible for this. Dancing looks stiff although the singing is pretty good.

  7. Lauren says:

I like the singing, the whole get up is sexy and kinda hot, so I don’t mind it. I am surprised she can sing!

  8. jbug says:

I think katie rocks… but i agree they really could have hooked her up with a more figure flattering wardrobe that made her look even sleeker.

  9. Leah says:

This is the first time I have heard Katie sing. I think she sings pretty darn good! It would be hard to hit those high notes! I don’t like her hair either. Hello, why doesn’t she wear hair extensions along with everyone else in Hollywood? At least for the show. The dance number is cute and a bit sexy. I don’t think its intended to be presented as her being a “professional dancer” it’s just a fantasy that this guy Stone envisions her doing.

  10. Starkist says:

Annie, I totally agree with you! I think Katie sounds good but she looks hard and masculine.

  11. maureen says:

very impressive.and very very sexyyyyyyy..I love u katie Holmes

  12. Susan says:

Bless her but she really looks better in a dress – a cat suit only looks good on ridiculously skinny girls. And that hair! Still, she sings quite nicely.

  13. francoise says:

Katie appears ackward with her sexuality. The voice is very strange. No appeal. Too bad

  14. Karen says:

She did a good job for not being a professional singer/dancer. The high notes are tough for her. Good job, but you can understand why she wasn’t cast in the movie “Nine.” She’s not a Catherine Zeta-Jones.

  15. Wen says:

I actually loved her hair! Great job!!

  16. Eliza says:

I think I’m the only one, but I LOVED her hair here. Can’t wait to see the epi and hopefully someone will record the broadway bit and maybe we’ll all get to see it one day.

  17. Mary says:

Hair and makeup suits her character’s description in the dream sequence.

I think she does a darn fine job in that clip. The full preview of that episode has me looking forward to the show when it airs on the 21st.

  18. tyler says:

Another plug from Mary, the PR agent :)

Just in case anyone needs to hear it again, the episode airs on the 21st. LOL.

  19. annie says:

I’d give anything to see it, but we don’t get E Stone here, and I’m sure that the whole dream sequence is going to be great ,and I bet the whole episode is going to be great, but why, why , did they do her hair like that, Iliked her singing, though, she sounds a bit like Brittany S , and do you know why Katie is going to be brilliant, because everybody expects her to bomb, so she’sgoing to rise to the occasion, wait and see.

  20. zagzag says:

Although I was critical, it will be great to see the her in the full clip, perhaps she’ll look better.

  21. Leenee says:

Personally, I LOVED the hair! I thought she looked cute and sexy and I liked how she sang. An adorable number.

  22. jenna says:

Perhaps Eli Stone was having a nightmare!

  23. Charlotte Rose says:

    Oh My! Um….well…..ah……hmmmm……

My Mama taught me that if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.

I’ll reserve my comments until I actually see the episode. Maybe Katie comes off better in the context of the story.

  24. tyler says:

    Jenna, LOL.

  25. jess says:

    Three words: That. Was. Horrible.

  26. RA says:

I thought her performance was just okay. Is that really her singing?

She does look good though. Some of you need to give her a break. I haven’t had a child yet, and my body doesn’t look like that! :-)

For those of you who who can’t see the show where you are, I believe you can catch it on http://www.abc.com after it airs.

  27. Linda says:

she looks like a middle aged woman with that hair….And she cant sing! Katie is not good looking. She is just average, nothing special about her…just kinda plain, girl next door.
