Pictures of Suri Cruise’s Birthday Cake!
Well, we have a little something that has to do with Suri Cruise’s second birthday. Gossip Girls just posted 2 pictures of Suri’s birthday cake!
It is a very cute cake with yellow polka-dots and butterflies with green trim. What do you think about the cake?
Update: Here’s more information about the cake:
The four-tier, custom-made birthday cake was made by a local specialty shop and has been adorned with yellow dots and butterflies. There are also 24 miniature cakes for the party guests to enjoy. Total cost: $5,000.

Wow that’s a big cake for a 2 year old birthday. But the design of the cake is more suitable for wedding and the yellow polka dot? I don’t know I think it’s not the kind of cake I will buy for my daughter though.

I love it. It is a beautiful cake. I wonder what the ‘theme’ of the birthday party was? All my grandson has wanted for the last 4 years (he is almost eight) is a Spiderman cake. Since he fell in love with the Pirates of the Caribean movies I was hoping to do a pirate theme last year but, “No Grama, I want Spiderman.” Sigh. His party by the way, cost about $100 to rent the space at the park and the cake, etc. Wonder what Suri’s little shindig totaled out at??

I agree that it is a beautiful cake. I too had wondered what the theme was and judging from the size of that cake she had a BIG party!
A butterfly theme is nice and peaceful for that age. Two year olds don’t really have dislikes just mostly likes!

I want everyone to know how I decide what IS and IS NOT true in the tabloids.
IMO:
Katie was NOT out doing the “banking” and buying DVD’s for she and tc to give Suri as a birthday gift.
YES, the cake WAS delivered for the party!
Anyone have thoughts that differ?

I love that cake. I was at a party today for a 3 year old and there was a very elaborate Princess cake, but with butterflies all over it too, wonder if that is an ‘in’ theme.
I cant get over how much Suri looks like Katie. It is a ‘mini me’.

Well butterflies and little girls just go together. I was thinking they might do the whole princess thing. If money is no object, can you imagine how elaborate that could have been. But I thought the cake was beautiful and a great choice for a young little girl.

I hate to say this but I thought the cake could be much more elaborate considering all the money they have. It looked smaller than what I had envisioned and did not seem to have enough butterflies surrounding it. It was pretty, but I was expecting something more dramatic……like what we may have all watched on those Food network contest programs that air the world’s most elaborate cakes. Honestly, my bakery here in PA has done jobs similiar to that cake in the photo. I guess I jusy expected something more over the top!!

Jenna, my thought is that maybe they’re trying not to be too ostentatious (after all there’s been a lot of criticism about their new house, Suri too dressed up to do ‘normal’ things, etc). I think it’s good that they ordered a cake that looked like it could be made in a good local cake shop. It’s nice and normal, and looks yummy to eat… I guess a 2 year old doesn’t want much more! I DO, however, wonder about the price tag - $5000? Whew! Is everything in LA so expensive?

Bumble, I doubt they read that stuff and care that much.
Jenna,
I get what you mean, personally I didn’t expect anything over the top because there was nothing over the top last year. It is just that non fans have spent the last couple of weeks psyching themselves up for a big PR do for Suri’s birthday. Nothing of that sort happened and they have to make excuses now. Which is a pity. As usual, some people speculated and they were wrong. It didn’t stop them from using such speculation to attack TK from all sides and drawing conclusions.

Know one knows if any of the speculating is right OR wrong.
For all ANY of us know, that cake we see in the picture is for the staff or maybe it is Suris PERSONAL cake that only SHE gets to dig into!!
MAYBE that cake is for a tea Party that Tom’s sister and mother are hosting.
What we all do know for sure is that it is a cake and it is pretty!

could be right donner as the article also said that each guest got their OWN personal cake. I was glad to see that it wasn’t the elaborate thing we might have expected from the TK bunch. I did really think they would do some sort of Princess theme tho as my granddaughter is in that age brackett and that is ALL she thinks about pretty much. LOL But, Kids don’t usually remember so much about these very early birthdays anyway. I still think the cake was lovely.

I have no quarrel with speculation, but why would some one speculate that Suri is going to have a mother of all parties probably at Swartz and TK are going to use it for PR? I just don’t understand why one bashes someone over speculation.
And I may not be here typing too.
