Pictures of Katie Holmes Leaving Rehearsals in NYC
Finally some more Katie Holmes pictures that I can post! Katie was seen leaving rehearsals yesterday (I think) in New York City for her upcoming Broadway production “All My Sons“. Katie is going to be busy busy busy this fall with rehearsals and then her play, which will be on 6 nights a week! I can not imagine how exhausting that will be for her and everyone else involved. It takes a special person to do Broadway and I definitely think Katie has what it takes.
I am so excited to hear the reviews I can barely stand it! September 18th is debut day for Katie. I am sure the internet will be buzzing about Katie Holmes that day.

why does she constantly wear those baggy, unflattering jeans? She is so pretty, and has the means to look sooooo good, yet she comes out looking like suburban 80’s mom. She is so lucky to be so pretty and should play it up!

I am more excited about seeing her on Eli Stone. I live nowhere near NY. I can’t catch the play even if I wanted to. I hope somebody snaps a few pictures with their camera phones!

love the pictures– very cute and dressing her age again here. I think this is how she is most comfortable. Sorry to see that she still has to be driven everywhere. How do most New Yorkers get out and about. There are plenty of stars in this town that seem to get themselves from point A to point B. without a ton of security, drivers, etc.

Whoopi Goldberg and all of The View ladies just walk everywhere. By themselves. They talk about it all the time.
Whoopi is WAY more famous the KH is and her wealth is up there near tc’s too. AND she is doing Broadway this month!!!!
I think the “guards” are more because of the status that tc has in “church” and not because kh is a star. (not saying that she isn’t a star)
A lot of stuff is coming down and lives have been damaged or lost in the past. Not that the guards can do much good when they are not armed and tc is the only one in a bullet proof vest.

C Mom: I Agree!!!!! She is dressing her age in these photos and looks very comfortable, very relaxed! She is rocking the whole “I am a stage actress living in NYC look!!!” The faded jeans, and raggy style tank…..this is a hip and youthful look for her. Thank Goodness!! She is way to cute to have been dressing so maturely as she usually is when out and about with TC. I am so thrilled she is off pursuing her passions for the stage….its great she has another part of her life that is reserved strictly for her and not TC.

I accidentally deleted the one for this thread. anyhow i was just saying, that between the ‘hate cruise’ internet socienty and anngry former scientologists, katie needs more security that whoopi or SJP. why would any one kidnap or attack the latter?

Yes does look happy and healthy when she is working. She is the type of artist that gets her “high” when she is able to create.
I really think doing Eli was a great boost for her. She seems most comfortable on a TV set. It was like going home for her. A shot in the arm, a confidence builder to let know that she can do this Broadway gig.

I think Katie looks really cute here. She looks really alive and content and I think that is great. She must love working hard to accomplish something like this and I wish her well at it.
As for driving herself or being driven vs. walking…I don’t know a lot about how it works in New York but I’ve always had the impression that parking is hard to come by there and so maybe that is why she is driven by someone else so that she can be just dropped off. I can remember when Rosie O Donnell did her show every day in that city. She talked a lot about her driver…he took her everywhere. Maybe the ladies of The View walk to and from work because their homes are fairly close to their jobs. I also imagine it is easier (and safer) for them to walk during the day since they are probably done working right after their show is done taping. Maybe Katie’s rehearsals run into the evening hours when it is dark. Anyway, there are pictures recently of her out walking while she “runs errands” and in the other pictures Julie posted from today’s rehearsal it shows Katie walking from around the driver’s side of the vehicle in the picture…perhaps she drove herself?

Katie looks happy, healthy, and 29! I’m a little surprised with comments of how she’s working 8 hours a day. This is a “normal” work day for most people, and during a rehearsal period, there are breaks and down time when she is not actually rehearsing. Once the play opens, yes Katie is performing eight shows a week, but most days will require her to be “on the job for @ three hours a day (one hour make up/dressing and two hours either onstage or waiting in the green room). Most people put in 40+ hours a week, don’t they?

re: security issue
Obviously Wilmington (when Dawson’s was filmed) is COMPLETELY a smaller deal than LA, but to give some perspective, Katie had a body guard who watched her on set when ever she was working (on her days off, or after work, she did not have a security detail). I don’t quite recall which season she was given a body guard ( I’m thinking Season 2 or 3, but it’s been a long time, so please forgive the brain fuzz) because even though we have a pretty sleepy town, she did have a few stalkers. I remember one guy (stalker) drove a couple hours quite often just to sit outside her place and watch for her. He was eventually charged with stalking with a restraining order placed against him and ordered to therapy. Another stalker literally moved into the house next door to her, and Katie eventually moved. Katie was always a little hesitant around fans after so many encounters like this. I’ve heard many people say that to them, Katie came off as b*tchy, but I never knew her to be this way. I simply think that the look of worry was mistaken for something else.
I do think that Tom is over-protective, but given Katie’s history, I think that if Tom told Katie (my assumption here, not concrete fact) she needed the security guards, the car shades, that she wouldn’t be safe on her own, etc that she would believe him and go along with it. After all, he’s her husband and is trying to keep her safe. I definitely think that can create more fear than necessary, though as the old adage goes “better to be safe than sorry…”

I remember seeing Katie her mum and her mother in law on tv one night, coming out of a resturant after having had lunch, there must have been about 50 paps surrounding them, they were honestly trapped, there were a couple of security guys but they could’nt do anything, Katie was trapped in a corner and could’nt move, her mum was holding toms mum by the hand trying to lead her to the car the security guys were yelling at the paps to stand back, they had honestly trapped and surrounded her , it looked really scary for them , after seeing that i can see why she has security with her all the time .

with all the money in the world, just get some capris. it really looks like she lost her luggage and had to wear tom’s pants for a couple days.
