Pictures of Katie Holmes and Suri Out Shopping in New York City
I love this picture of Katie Holmes with Suri! They were seen out shopping at Jacadi on Madison Avenue in New York City this weekend. Let me just state the obvious that everyone will talking about…Suri is still drinking from a bottle. I know that has been a big issue with a lot of people. I am still trying to break my 4 year old from his sippy cup.
As far as why Katie and Suri were in New York City, I have heard that the whole family went there this past weekend and that Tom and Katie attended The Country Girl at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre Saturday night, which has fueled the rumors about Katie heading to Broadway to appear in All My Sons.
Before the couple hit the play, they were seen dining with Jerry Seinfeld’s wife Jessica.
One more picture of Katie and Suri below the cut.

I love the way Suri looks in the color red. Her little doll is precious. She is a cutie. I don’t think she likes wearing anything that is confining like coats, sweaters, or closed shoes.

Caption should be: Katie posing for the cameras and trying to prove she is a devoted mom.
Suri is cute. She is cute in red!!
Suri is probably wondering why all these people are taking her pics and mom feels a need to pose for them with her in her arms. Poor kid!! She can’t be just a two-year-old!!
This is so reminiscent of January, when KH was posing for the cameras and had so much going for her. Then it all came crashing in. Maybe things will go better this time for her.

Were they shopping or was Katie just posing outside the store? What was the temp in NYC? Everyone is in long sleeves and coats and Suri looks ready for a trip to the beach on a hot day.

Katie must be burning up in her sweater, coat and jeans. It was about 60F, I think. No matter the weather Suri should have shoes on. What IF Katie had to set her down on the DIRTY pavement. ick!

I think a good rule of thumb is if the mommy wears a coat or jacket, the child should probably do so as well. Beautiful pic tho..

The World Health Organization promotes breastfeeding until the age of 3. Certainly getting milk in 2-3 bottles a day for a total of 10 minutes of drinking can’t harm a baby if the WHO is saying that babies up until the age of 3 are still “on the breast”. We women need to look beyond the cultural boundaries of American tradition to realize that the trend of bottle weaning at 12 months IS NOT a trend everywhere, nor does it have a negative connotation. Truly, where did any of us learn that babies “should wean” from a bottle at 12 months? Think about it. Where did you learn that? From OTHER people’s judgements! Whatever is functional and healthy for a child to drink needed nutrients is a-okay for that child. It is a mother’s responsibility to feed her child in the way that is best for that child…and not others’ decision to make.
Suri is probably sleeveless because she wanted her sweater off while shopping inside. They are probably walking all of 10 feet to a limo! Big deal!
We should be celebrating the fact that Katie TAKES HER SHOPPING versus leaves her at home with a nanny. We need to be supporting fellow women by looking at the glass as half-full rather than half-empty. Come on ladies! :)

Pretty much Puck. I guess if they just came from Colorado, it might feel warm in NY at 60 degrees. I know when we are freezing here in FL and it is in the 50’s folks from the north are walking around in sandals and shorts. Still think if Mom puts on a jacket, need to have kiddy in one as well tho.

Why you gotta exaggerate? She is only two years old. Angelina Jolie pics came out, like, yesterday, and she is carrying Shiloh even though she is preggo. Now, just because the kid has lots of hair, does not mean she isn’t little. She isn’t 5 years old. She has only been on this planet for 2 small years, and she still says, Dada.

Little puzzled about her need to drink from a bottle. The child needs to be weaned off and begin the sippy cup process.

Well I think what she actually says according to Tom, is “Dada Cruise” which I find a bit unusual. But then way back when they were in Germany months and months ago Katie said she said, “Good morning Berlin” every day. But she is one well traveled tot. Her passport is already probably adding pages. So who knows?

Yeah, sooner or later all kids get off the bottle. That other cos person, leah remni, her daughter is almost 5 yrs old and still gets 7-8 bottles of milk a night. Maybe it has something to do with their audit sessions.

It’s hard to generalize about the bottle, but seems like the longer parents wait, the harder it gets. I’ve seen this firsthand. Still, she’s still very young. Not that unusual to have an occasional bottle (of milk) at that age :) She’s cute.

The most a child of 2+ should have is perhaps a little tiny bottle (4 Oz) before going to bed–not IN bed but before bed if they must. I think with the newer sippy cups that are available, they should be out of the bottle stage completely at this point. I am a part time Nanny on the side and not one child I watch (and these are rich families) is on the bottle over about 14 mos. My 14 mo old twins have 1 4 oz bottle a day before bed-not in bed ever.

Kids can be attached to a bottle or a blanket. I saw pictures last week of Zahara Jolie- Pitt with a blanket at almost 31/2 years! and Ryder Robinson with her pacifier at 4 years. Every child is different. Suri seems to have a very strong personality. I doubt you can persuade her to do something she does not want to do like wear shoes or leave a bottle behind. There are kids like that. The best practice is while in public, indulge them or they can embarrass you. In any case I doubt she will be 10 or 15yrs and still on the bottle.
Beautiful pictures. Thanks Julie.

Cute pics.
NOS: Katie is actually walking not Posing. Usually there are videos and from the video you can see the pics are taken in a matter of minutes, while they are walking from shops/restaurants to their car….
I just hate the fact that people will be complaining where is Suri or Tom and Katie when we don’t see them and the same people will complain when we do see them.

This won’t go through but very cute pictures of Suri. I liked how her baby isn’t dressed which is exactly the same thing that most little kids do with dolls. They just whip the clothes off and that is how they stay. Very sweet. I think the bottle should really be a non-issue at this point…it might be a little unusual for a child her age but it isn’t any different than a pacifier.

Glad I wasn’t the only that noticed she wasn’t wearing any shoes, hopefully Katie bought some while shopping. Oh she could’ve lost them along the way too. You know how those little ones hate their shoes. I picture them somewhere on the way to the plane back at home. hehe.

Tyler: I agree with you. Maybe this is her security since her parents have her in front of so many strange people who are taking her pic and alling to her. Also, giving Suri a bottle is a good way to placate her when she is in all those posh shops. You certainly don’t want a two year old throwing a fit in those shops. There are quite a bit of expensive things there and they are not kid friendly. Nor do you want her eating snacks to satisfy her hunger. Can you picture Suri running around stores with soggy animal crackers or sticky hands?
Either way, it does get harder to get rid of.
Something that is easy to do in the long run, but a pain in the short run, is to chuck those bottles in the garbage. We had to that with my son when he was over two and still on the bottle!
Our peditrician told us that it was bad for his teeth. The other issue is that he was filling up on the milk and not getting the nutrients he needed from other sources. Who knows, maybe Suri’s barley water is healthier and has more nutrients than milk.

I have seen plenty of kids with a blanket at this age. Usually they are holding it or dragging it themselves. Watched a 2 year old last weekend who carried his blanket everywhere. In my opinion, I would like to see Suri dressed in weather appropriate clothing, shoes, etc maybe sippy cup but it is really hard to get a child of any age separated from their blanket or favorite toy. To me, it would look more normal to see Suri in a jacket and shoes if her mom is dressed warmer and carrying her blanket. Don’t know how long they were outside tho, just from store to car isn’t so bad.

The last thing you want to do is to start indulging your kids in public for fear of embarassment. If Suri’s in charge now, just wait til she gets older. Parents need to set rules, not be their kids’ best friends.

For goodness sake, trim her fringe (bangs)!
How can she be comfortable with hair in her eyes.
My daughter is still very attached to her blanket at the age of 3. Like Suri she is also an Aries, very strongheaded and quite a character but I’m sure she’ll give up the blanket when school starts. She has no choice but to!

I agree about not placating the kids for fear of embarrassment. It’s not very often people tut tut mothers whose kids throw tantrums in public. Plus, tantrums and the results (i.e. parents not giving in) is how kids learn about things.. boundaries, life, right and wrong etc.

Parenting is one of the most rewarding, yet tuff, jobs someone can tackle. I agree that rules have to be set even if it’s tuff. There were plenty of times I heard “I hate you!!” Boy, those times were and still are tuff. Doesn’t stop when they enter the teen years. I still trudge on, however, because I’m their parent for a reason. It’s my job to help mold them to be the best they can be in life and to prepare them for life. If I was always a “yes man”, I know I wouldn’t be helping them in the long run when they are going to hear the word “no.” Heck, I’ve employed people who I could tell were never told “no” hardly if ever as a child because when I told them “no” as their boss, I faced a meltdown by adult men and women who couldn’t or wouldn’t abide by everyday rules, many of which I set in place to protect them.

Im not a parent myself so I don’t have a great deal of opinions on this topic but I wanted to say, everyone is different and they have a different way of raising their kids. From what people that know them have said and pics of course Bella and Connor are very down to earth and nice kids and I hope Suri will be no different.
Doug
May 6, 2008 at 9:59 am
I agree that everyone does have different parenting styles. I think the ultimate goal that many parents have, however, is that they want to see their children become happy and well-adjusted adults. As parents, we know we won’t always be there for them, so we do the BEST we can, even making mistakes along the way, to prepare them for the that Big World out there that they are going to have to face whether they are prepared for it or not.
bumblebeej
May 6, 2008 at 10:07 am
I think Suri is being brought up different to how Connor and Bella were. They were kids together, and now they’re older. Suri is more like an only child in that sense (i.e. the older kids have their own life. I’m sure they play with her but they are tweens / teens… they are not full time playmates like a sibling who is only two years older/younger would be).
Also, if the tabs are to be believed, Suri is brought up by Scieo rules. TC wasn’t as involved in the religion when the other kids were younger, so may not have been as ‘Scieo’ a parent (i.e. not saying NO etc).
Anyway, a kid who can walk should wear shoes all the time they’re out, especially in NYC. Even if they pull them off every 5 mins, the job of the parent is to put them back on. I’ve done it when I babysit, drives me nuts but the kid usually gets quite bored with the process after 20 minutes. The same child would pull off her diaper every 5 mins too, but I’d just put it back on!
No one in life gets to do what they want to do. So why should anyone give in to a two year old? She may just grow up thinking she can do what she wants to do, and like a lot of celeb children, it won’t a pleasant person make (just look at all the brats in the UK now.. Bob Geldof’s kids, the royals who are coming of age, etc).

I agree 100% with setting boundaries for kids, personally am tired of over-indulged adults who seem the world owes them. Having said that, it would not be wise for Katie to try and be a disciplinarian infront of 30 cameras with the world watching your every move, moreover to a kid like Suri who to me seems as difficult as they come.

Tia, you’re right that different people have different ways. That’s the point of this discussion. Those that realize they represent authority figures have the best chance at succeeding in what is an extremely difficult job. Doesn’t mean you have to rule with an iron fist, but you have to be able to set boundaries. If a parent can’t do that, it means they’re taking the easy road.

Now Lauren that was funny. What I said did look silly in retrospect. I do think it is good for little kids to wear shoes. I never put my oldest in shoes until she was like 11 mos-don’t everyone shoot me now. LOL And then I had to buy Stride-rite because her little feet were so wide. Turned out normal tho so no harm done. I did have her in little socks to keep her feet warm tho. That was what I meant. I sure don’t think shoes would have made the difference in Will and Harry. My kids were born in the same timeframe tho so maybe it was what we did at the time? Don’t know. And yes Suri is sitting there all bored and tired looking. Like any kid you take out for too much shopping. They would rather be playing somewhere else.

I agree with many of you on the subject of over-indulged children who grow up to be adults who thinks the whole world revolves around them. People like them are not only hard to be around, but they also seem to be thoughtless self-absorbed individuals who could care less about anyone else’s feelings but their own. Believe me, I’ve employed some who were very “booksmart” but were arrogant, cocky or whatever you want to call them beyond belief. I had to let many of these people go because you just couldn’t talk to them, even to give constructive criticism. Sad.

Suri looks adorable as usual, but if Katie looks this gaunt in a photo (when draped in a turtleneck AND coat), she must be terrifyingly thin in person. If she is so happy and everything is so wonderful, why is she disappearing? People DIE of anorexia. Something must be very, very wrong.

I think there’s way too much criticism about Suri’s clothes, bottle, shoes, etc., considering that no one actually knew what was happening in that situation! So many moms today want to attack other moms who aren’t doing things exactly the way they would do it. Suri looks healthy and happy so there is no need to be so harsh towards them. Oh and its obvious why Suri is usually carried everywhere - there’s always a throng of papparazi around and it seems much safer to carry her than to risk her getting injured or lost. I’m sure they don’t carry her around the house at home. I think some people just need to lay off and be glad that there’s not a camera capturing all of their parenting moments for the world to pick at.

I have a question and maybe someone can explain to me.
If Cruise has been so successful with LIONS FOR THE LAMBS and soon to be VALKYRIE, why is he trying to get back into Paramount’s good graces?
Wouldn’t it speak volumes for him and Paula Wagner if he can make UA more successful than Paramount to prove to Redstone and clan that he really didn’t need them?
I’m sorry, but it looks like Cruise is begging for work from Paramount. He was the one who called Redstone and set-up the lunch.

I think Suri is absolutely beautiful and I don’t know why everyone picks on Katie Holmes and judges her because you think she should do things differently. Are ya’ll perfect mothers? NO. NO ONE is. If you’re going to continue to pick on people, I think the problem lies with you having a complex over your own insecurities and needing to pick on everyone else. Who cares?? No. I believe Tom Cruise own’s part of the rights to the Mission Impossible franchise. In order for him to make another sequel, he has to come to an agreement with them, even if another Mission Impossible movie was made without cruise, he would still get some of the monies from the movie, because he owns part of the rights to the franchise. Also, I believe Redstone wanted to make good with Cruise since 2007. But Tom was busy and they had to arrange a date, and it fell last month. I think that reconcilation, probably made Cruise feel that he should get on good terms with a few other people. I think it was a great move. Now It makes it less boring, knowing he is in good standing with them, but at least that means less media will bug him.

NOS, I know everything these days has been spun and spun and spun some more. The truth is that Redstone on two occasions last year held out an olive branch to Tom Cruise. (google it: Redstone retracts his comments). He denied his remarks in VF and on the second occasion retracted them saying he had no problem with Tom Cruise and that he was quoted out of context.
On their last meeting, media outlets spun the story to seem like it is Tom Cruise who wanted to win back Redstone, but if you think about it, if Redstone threw out Tom like he did, why would he then allow to meet him and call him a friend? This is Restone remember blunt as they come.
Mission Impossible has been Paramount’s most successful franchise. Cruise made Paramount over $3 billion over the years and has been their most successful star to date. The rest don’t even come close.
Redstone thought he could make a new Tom Cruise from young stars like Gyllenhaal, he had a good script for Zodiac and even promoted it personally giving interviews and doing the red carpet. It tanked, for no reason at all. Good script, popular young actor, good director, rave reviews, yet it was a dud at the BO. Remember when he was firing TC he said it takes a script to make a box office hit, well he has now realised that he was wrong.
Lauren
May 7, 2008 at 5:57 am
Mission Impossible is a very lucrative franchise. Even with boycotts against TC M13 made 395 million, more that most movies will ever make. At the very worst it can make 300 million if resurrected, that is about 180 million for the studio. Remember at the very worst. This is money we are talking about.
Paramount has certain rights to it, and Cruise Wagner production have the rest (It used to be a TV series back then and CW bought its rights). Why waste that money if neither party is willing to compromise? Brad Grey has always been on TC’s side in this Redstone saga and he said they warned Restone about ‘firing’ Tom Cruise. David Geffen said so too. Am glad they have been vindicated.
Let’s now look at Redstone, he fired his lawyers, fell out with Spielberg (Dream works is severing ties with Paramount in 2009, that’s another story), has lost many senior execs at paramount and fell out with his kids too. Paramount vantage is not doing so well either, smaller paramount affiliated studios like Plan B run by Brad Pitt and Brad Grey are in trouble too, they have produced bomb after bomb at the BO since Departed. Let’s not even start of Brad Grey’s problems and links with some criminal elements in Washington.
Much as the Cruise critics would like to spin things in their favour, to be fair, they probably have not been following Redstone’s affairs. Redstone is in trouble and needs as many friends as he can. The dreamworks merger has been bringing in a lot of money and now things are getting from bad to worse.

They really need to test market Cruise to see if he is still marketable. Just as there’s a lot of $ to be made, there’s a lot to be lost. Looked like Cruise was trying to go in another direction, kinda break free of that stereotypical role he always plays so I’m surprised.

Tyler, this is not confirmed yet. But even if he decide to do that, he has always succeeded in doing different roles, that challenges him and I’m sure another M:I will not stop him doing other non-stereotypical roles.
I wouldn’t mind another M:I with J.J. Abrams, just to find out what exactly “the rabbit’s foot” is. :)

I have read a lot of opinions on different types of women’s boards and many sing the same song. They have all grown up with tc and have been IN LOVE with him, but now cannot get past his ignorant remarks on postpartum.
They all agreed that it was a slap in their faces. One said it was as bad as spousal abuse and that until you have had it you have NO business having an opinion on it.
Bottom line, they all agreed that they cannot and will not watch him anymore.

PuckHappy………….I don’t believe the “they cannot abd will not watch him anymore” is necessarily true now. Absolutely in the beginning that was true but I think many of those same women see Tom and his entire family as getting a truly raw deal.
He has explained himself and as much as some would like to believe that he can’t do or say enough to show that he did not communicate his thoughts clearly enough, he has.
Most importantly the woman whose name he brought up in the discussion has accepted his apology and in my opinion that says more than enough.

May 7, 2008 at 3:05 pm
I do not believe for one minute that the average woman off the street shares that sentiment Tyler. Yes there are those who have been successfully manipulated by the media to believe that Tom is a bad controlling man who lost his marbles but most movie goers are not on the internet 24/7 trashing Cruise and his family, neither are they angry former scientologists. Infact most of those bloggers are a group of people headed by the so called ‘anonymous’ fighting scientology but using Cruise as a punch bag. They have a lot of time on their hands. You can see by the frequency with which non fans post here. Which gives me the impression that they are always on the internet saying the same thing over and over again on different sites with different identities. I have met some non fans here on other sites and they will say what they say here but of course more rudely.
If someone can create a site dedicated to hating Tom Cruise and his family, what stops them from going from site to site posting what you have just said? If some one can call up Suri’s cake maker and Tom’s barber and the easter brunch place, what stops them from masquerading as ‘women’ all over the world?
I don’t for a moment believe that TC is over as non fans labour to emphasise, why then would anonymous still be bothering with him? Why would non fans visit site after site to attack and harrass him. Why would Redstone be meeting a man who is over and retracting his comments? Shouldn’t he be dancing on TC’s grave instead? congragulating himself on successfully ruining him?
The problem is that when you hang around with people who believe in the tooth-fairy, you start believing in him too. Not to be offensive but non fans are always feeding each other with ‘Cruise is over stories’ that they start believing them, mainly because they want them to be true. It blinds them to other realities. Case in point, none of them bothered to check up on Redstone and his reasons for holding out an olive branch for TC. They simply swallowed the story of TC is begging. Suri being older without proper chronology to support their claims, Suri and lighter hair, I even read some attacks on Perezhilton for Suri having a cameo on Oprah which never was.
It is that desperate need to believe something is true that blinds some to any contrary realities. I love TC but I would never call him tall. LOL. I am sure if being tall became a crime, non fans would add inches to Cruise and scrutnise every shoe he wore for flat soles.

Wow. Lauren. Thought you were toning it down.. While in my opinion, Tom did in fact lose a lot of women fans when he said that about Brooke-even though he apologized later,etc- it was irresponsible on his part and if just one woman came off her meds and was harmed because of what he said, that would be too many. Make no mistake he still believes the same way- whatever he says. Many of those women may come back into the fold as his fans, but as I am one of the ‘others’ I know for a fact many won’t. As far as his career goes, I am taking the time will tell point of view. Don’t think there is any point in wasting so much energy worrying about it one way or the other. I won’t believe that he is in MI 4 unless or until filming starts on it tho. As for Vakyrie-I cant’ wait to see what happens there. I bet Merrill Lynch is watching that closely as well. Studios in Hollywood are a dime a dozen-come and go almost as much as marriages do-hard to keep up

Lauren, I guess the women you are describing is someone you also fit the bill with. You apparently go to the websites that allow for the public to practice their free speech and carefully read and probably take notes of what people are saying. The box office receipts for Lions for Lambs and Mad Money speaks volumnes about Cruise and Katie’s current appeal, people are not going in droves to see their movies at the theaters. You can analyze it from any angle but Cruise has damaged his career and so has Katie.

It’s interesting that LFL is chosen as an example but LFL did many times better than other movies dealing with the same subject matter (the war)……..That list of disappointments includes Rendition with media darlings Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhall, In the Valley Of Elah with Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron, Redacted which was directed by no less of a director than Brain De Palma and Stop-Loss with Ryan Phillipe which got raving reviews.
At the height of the bruhaha with what Cruise said M:I: 3 still managed to pull in close to $50 million on it’s opening weekend.
As far as the treatment of PPD is concerned what has come out of it is that one size does not fit all in terms of treatment and as the discussions coming out of the debate have proven, there are many ways to treat PPD and many and not all of them include medication.
Brooke Shields has accepted Tom’s apology for bringing her name into the discussion at all. She has moved on from that episode enough to be friends with Tom.
As for Katie, if you check her list of movies before Tom, she has never had a movie that was a major blockbuster and I don’t think MM was meant to be that……………Batman Begins was the biggest movie that Katie was ever a part of in terms of Budget, production box office numbers and co-stars.
Julie………I apologize for the off-topic.

Hey TomKat peeps: I just read this at TMZ.com:
Maybe it’s what LRH prescribes, but Suri Cruise is too old to be drinking from a bottle, say doctors – medical doctors.
Suri was spotted yesterday slurping a bottle as she and Scientolomom Katie Holmes strolled Madison Avenue, but Usmagazine.com talked to some pediatricians who say that the two-year-old should’ve been drinking from a sippy cup already. Most babies are weaned off a bottle by 18 months.
Given her parents’ insistence on keeping her under the stairs – this could explain a lot.
Lauren
May 8, 2008 at 5:30 am
I agree Suri should be off the bottle, parenting is never easy and any mother will tell you that. I am sure she will not be on the bottle ten years from now.
Concerned mom, I am sorry my post came off as harsh. It was never meant to be that. Maybe you are used to harsh tones from me so you read it that way. LOL.

May 8, 2008 at 5:35 am
About their careers, again it comes down to selective analysis to suit your theories and wishes. LFL did better than most war movies. Mary pointed out those other actors/actresses whose war movies did not do well, have we written them off yet? Mission impossible was released right after those comments by TC, at the time when women supposedly did not want anything to do with him, yet it brought in close to 400million.
Lauren
May 8, 2008 at 5:43 am
In MM, Katie was not the leading actress in it and it was not meant to be BO hit. It made almost 8 milion in its opening weekend and has made over 20 million domestically. Infact it is one of those movies that go straight to DVD and should make some money that way.
Ng, if careers were finished because a movie did not do as well as non fans or any one for that matter expects, then la la land should have closed shop. How many stars have had duds in recent times? So Brad Pitt’s career is over too, Queen Latifa, Diane Keaton, George Clooney, Jake Gyllenhaal, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Ewan Mcgregor, Hugh Jackman, Meryl Streep has had two! every one, I mean every one has had a less than fantastic performance at the BO at one time or another are their careers over? Only Will Smith would still be around and am sure if he did LFL, it would not have performed any better.
From your theory can we take it that the costars of these movies MM and LFL, should also pack up? Is Robert Redford’s career over?
Deception by Michelle Williams just made only two million for its opening weekend and had bad reviews, should she seek another trade? It had Ewan Mcgregor and Hugh Jackman should they leave too? Is Katie a bigger star than Hugh Jackman or Ewan Mcgregor to expect much more from her? She did better than them already if you take recent movies. These are realities you fail to see because you want to believe the contrary so badly. Why have selective judgement? This is the kind of unfairness that really bothers me.
Non fans point put all the time that Katie is famous for who she is married to. I agree that she would not be as famous were she not married to TC. Why then do you expect her to have hit after hit at the BO even for a caper movie?
Please help me understand this reasoning.

Jenna: I doubt doctors do everything they say you should do. Either that or they don’t have kids. I don’t get the bottle comments any more. If she were three or four sipping out of it, I can see the uproar, but not two.
Also, considering how much this little girl is paraded in front of cameras, and you can tell she doesn’t like it, while her parents have to pose and smile, let her have her comfort.

May 8, 2008 at 8:26 am
Tia thanks for pointing that out. Tyler, am sorry it is puckhappy I meant not you.
NOS bias is as bias does. The glass can be half empty and half full depending on the sentiment of who is looking at it. It doesn’t change the fact that it is a glass and it is neither full nor empty. I could say the same for non fans and critics. They are very biased most of the time and Tom and Katie can’t do right. Damned if they do, damned if they don’t. I base my opinion on facts. Tom and Katie can of course do wrong and my comments when am not deriding posters :) can tell you that I know that they are not perfect. For one I think Suri is spoilt rotten and is very indulged, I am just counting on her parents to reign her in when they think the time is right. Her father has raised two kids and they seem very well adjusted. I do agree with what you say about bottles. It is a fact that perenting is not a piece of cake.
It is also difficult to criticise as it only spurs non fans. Some things are said over and over again that I just don’t see the need to add my substance.
Lauren
May 8, 2008 at 8:37 am
Thanks Tia, I like the polite discussion here too. At least now we can get our point across That is why I rarely if ever post on other sites. It is a waste of time trying to be rational with someone terminally angry and bitter.
NOS with all due respect, I find it ironic that you would find nothing wrong with some one who writes to Tom’s barber and Suri’s cake maker etc calling her prudent for trying to research facts and yet call some one who does the same on the internet a stalker. How else would I be able to comment and understand where so called non fans are coming from? It is a new phenomena, having people very interested in a celebrity they seem to despise. I can’t say I understand it but from their posts here and around the internet, I do get an insight into their mind-set.
Lilianne
May 8, 2008 at 8:37 am
Not that anyone cares about my opinion but I will give it nonetheless…for whatever it is worth. I don’t think that it is possible for anyone here to base any of their opinions about this couple and their child on fact. How can we when we do not know them and their lives? We can speculate and we can read things written or said about them but even that does not make it fact. Even things that come directly from a celebrities mouth may or may not be fact. I am sure that celebs let us know what they want us to know and sometimes mislead the public deliberately. I know I would if I were in that position because my private life would be noones business.
Lilianne
May 8, 2008 at 8:52 am

Lauren
May 8, 2008 at 10:27 am
LOL concerned mom. I don’t follow any one around the internet. As a fan, I just look for news on Tom and Katie and I will tell you that non fans are all over Tomkat threads on any celebrity blog, infact the usually have the first post. It is not rocket science really.
Now jumping from site to site harrassing a particular celebrity, abusing their family and telling lies about them is what I call cyber stalking. Have you ever seen me posting about a non fan on any other topic other than TC?
Stalking is a crime, cyber or otherwise. So checking up on celeb’s private lives and writing to their friends e.g Marc Anthony warning him off TC is stalking and it is sick and criminal.

Ok Katie fans….. I am officially obsessed with how BEAUTIFUL Katie looks in her most recent pics on Just Jared where she is photographed with TC coming out of the MET Costume Gala awards. I recently wrote that I did not like her new shorter hair cut but in these pics with all the makeup and with her hair being straightened with a CHI, she looks utterly incredible. A vision!!! That sparkly red ball gown and pairing it with a unique blue stilleto was a fantastic fashion choice. The gold necklace, the makeup was all perfect. I am soooo jealous of how gorgeous she looked. Ahhhh…. I want to look like that!!!!! And…..I want that gown!!!!

Lauren, I will say you have been doing better the last little bit here. We all probably have a list of sites we look at for our celeb news. Don’t see anything wrong with that. I think it isn’t good however, to bring all kinds of negative stuff back here about people who no longer post here which had been done as you know. I think there is the new tc site and the tom cruise fan site and a bunch of other places where fans can have a lovefest night and day. You also CONTINUALLY drag up the name of people who haven’t posted here for months and months - even QUOTING their recent comments on other sites - now i find that extremely disturbing and, well, just plain sick and nasty
it is obvious that you have a vendetta against ANYONE who dares to not worship mr cruise to the extreme that you do
WHY can’t you just keep each thread to the topic at hand and abide by the webmistresses rules on THIS site

“Continuing to make the most of their trip to New York City, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes had an eventful Saturday night in the Big Apple.
Striding around in a killer pair of Christian Louboutin heels, Katie, along with her Top Gun hubby, attended the Broadway play “The Country Girl” at the Bernard B Jacobs Theatre. The Hollywood supercouple also grabbed a bite to eat with Jerry Seinfeld’s wife, Jessica.
Upon returning back to their hotel, Katie rested a supportive hand on her husband’s back as he signed autographs for fans.
A source on the scene tells: “TomKat then listened intently to a hotel guest who shared a personal tragedy with the couple. As they finally entered their hotel having promised to do what they could to help the guest, even the doorman wanted the pair to stop for a chat before they could retire for the night!”

once AGAIN - i DO NOT post on ‘many’ other sites - there are SEVERAL amy’s in this world
and as for ‘venom’ - it is not ME who appears to have it running through my veins that’s for sure!!
and as for your comments about none of us having any of our own original idea’s - based on the examples above - does that mean that when someone says ‘ooh isn’t tom so wonderful’ that the next person who comments the same line is ALSO displaying that THEY TOO have no original idea’s of their own?? how ridiculous!!!!
gee - haven’t you realised - in life, there will ALWAYS be people who see things in the same way as you and people who DON’T..
once again - your nastiness is unnecessary and shocking - i don’t see why us so called ‘non fans’ should have to be regularly abused in such a vicious manner by a cyber stalker - or get critisized when we stand up for our right to our own opinions -

I see you are not vicious at all. Read your comments my dear and you will know what vicious is. You are as nasty as they come. At least I have not resorted to visiting sites of celebrities I don’t like to comment on the site of their ring and make snide remarks about it.
Practice what you preach. Your nastiness though unneccessary is not that shocking because I have encountered you on other sites and Tomkat threads and you never seem to have anything nice to say. You also do seem angry and bitter most of the time. No one asked you to ooh or aah but petty snide remarks are too juvenile and tiring.

JULIE:
I am surprised this nastiness is still allowed. As i said before, I don’t think you or B5 care about this siutuation with Lauren.
I will no longer be posting here until it is dealt with.
Con Mom, Lili, Bumble, jajorge, Tyler, and others,
I encourage you to leave as well. Maybe when the hypocrits at B5 take it in the wallet, they will be more willing to deal with Lauren and her nasty posts.

um, er, sorry, i am confused here…
lauren - YOU visit sites that are ANTI the celebrity you cherish - you have even quoted from “i HATE tom cruise”
now, whilst i DON’T like tom - my feelings for katie and suri are easily detached from my feelings for him - hence why i visit this site
Why would you choose to go to the ihatetomcruise site, and even libra’s new site KNOWING FULL WELL that they are NOT fan sites unless you intend to cause trouble - it is not as if you even have guts to comment, you simply read then run back here to repeat or taunt others -
so i take it then by your logic in your comments about me posting everywhere that EVERY lauren i now encounter online is YOU - glad that is cleared up
which ‘other sites’ have you encountered me on? you keep saying that but don’t say where
I find your cyberstalking really creepy and disturbing - i hope you don’t have children - it appears you mustn’t have much time left for them with this obsession you have developed
people with low self esteem often develop crushes on celebrities and take that to extreme levels - these people, due to their frustrations with themselves, can also be extremely aggressive and volatile - these kinds of people really need to put their hands up and ask for help
there IS life outside these GOSSIP blogs

tia - it is an entirely open site, where no comments are edited or deleted - so if you wanted to go and comment you should feel free to do so

Thanks for that Amy but I take it its not a fan site so I’ll give it a miss.
Is it a nonfan/hate site? If so why? I don’t get it?
amy

it’s not a ‘fan’ site - no
but it ISN’T a hate site - the only thing hated on that site - as on MANY MANY other sites is probably scientology - and that is because most of the posters there have spent time investigating the cult themselves and have all formed their own informed opinions
it’s a gossip site - same as this, but where everyone contributes news, pics, links, etc
and all feel free to comment however we please knowing that we won’t get censored, deleted or blocked
there isn’t any hostility towards each other and all opinions are discussed and debated without it ever getting personal to each other
sometimes the comments are factual and serious, other times people just have a laugh
i would personally suggest that you go to the new tom cruise site as that is for fans - the majority of people on this site we are talking about are NOT tom cruise fans, like myself for example -
katie and suri - that is a different matter

Amy calm down. As I don’t have any more time for you. I redirect your post back to you. Just change Lauren to Amy. Mind you, it is a very low esteem that drives one to trash a stanger and make snide remarks about them every day. And no I don’t visit those sites, check Justjared and you will find all that I have posted here. My advice to all you and your friends is to get a life and try doing something positive. Trying not attacking TC and see whether you will get anything out of me. Why do nasty people fear any criticism? I thought there was freedom of sppech. Why is it that the very people attacking Julie for moderating are always calling on her to moderate all the time. Not that I do not appreciate her efforts.
Tia thank you for being neutral. I can see non fans cannot see how their fellow non fan is being very nasty. Then again their sole purpose is to be nasty, so am not surprised.

Another non fan using Katie and Suri as an excuse. Yet she did not say anything when Suri was called autistic and called Katie a zombie. Always trying to point out how unhappy Katie is. Is that a fan? Please….

hahaha
whatever -
you are obviously just out looking for arguments
i am so bored with you lauren, it’s the same old attacks again and again, day after day - boring boring boring- nothing original….
go and pick on someone else for a while - i am not interested in you or your opinion, unlike the way you seem to be obsessed with me and my opinions - poor thing… focus on tom and not me ok - you make me feel uncomfortable

Okay, I can see the comments here are getting out of hand. I am closing comments for this post. I hate to do that, but I can see that it is necessary.
As far as the commenting…I am really sorry that I have been missing in action and haven’t been able to moderate things better. I just got internet in my new home last night. Please understand that this move was extremely hard and I haven’t been able to watch this blog or any of my other ones closely. Starting today I will watch comments closer. I will be once again abiding by the comment policy very strictly.
Your comments will be deleted if you attack another poster, make comments about what someone commented on another site, bring up past comments on this site before I took over, attack Tom, Katie and Suri in an unnecessary manner or are just downright rude.
Consider this a first warning. If you can not abide by the comment policy, you will not be allowed to comment here anymore. Please comment on THE POST itself and not each other.
