Oprah Winfrey herself has spilled some secrets of the Tom Cruise 2-part interview that will air May 2nd and May 5th.

During the the taping of her interview with Tina Turner and Cher this weekend in Las Vegas, she shares that she does ask Tom questions about Scientology, his interview with Matt Lauer on the Today show and the infamous couch jumping incident on her show. Wow, this sounds like it’s going to be a great interview!

The first part of the two-part interview will be from his home in Telluride, CO. One Las Vegas audience member said, “Oprah said Tom gave her a ride on a snowmobile,She also said Katie and Suri were there for the interview, too.

On May 5th, Cruise will return to Oprah’s Chicago studio for the 25th anniversary of his movie “Risky Business”.

I can not wait to see this!

I probably won’t watch this the day it airs because my job will interfere with seeing it. I will probably look for excerpts of it online though just because I will be curious about how Tom will behave during the interview. My opinions of him really began to change for the worse right after his 1st appearance on Oprah so I wonder if they might change again after watching him for the 2nd time on her show? I suppose anything is possible.

Looks like Cruise will be showing his ENTIRE immediate family…or the only other two besides him that count.

I still think this is going to be a fluff interview, most of her shows are!!

Sounds like it’ll be a great PR stint for both sides. I never watch Oprah and won’t for this either.

This will really help Tom and family to sort of ‘fix’ their image. Eonline said that Oprah would be asking him questions about Scientology and the couch jumping incident as well as interview with Matt Lauer. If he turns on the charm and charisma he has had in the past, this is going to be a really good move. Not muich of a fan of Oprah these days either-sort of pick shows to tape and view sometimes-but this looks to be highly entertaining.

Ok somebody, tell me how to get a time machine! I cannot wait for this Friday. To hit it off, its Friday, no school for me that day, no work, Oprah at 3pm, and then its off to Iron Man!

I am very excited about it. Yes some may say it is a PR move, but Tom has a right to defend himself from all allegations before the line between truth and fiction blurs completely.

    Looking foward to this.

I don’t think O will get too involved with asking him about HIS CoS since she has her own that she is trying to promote.

Can you believe that other blogs are saying that the only reason tc was at the futeball game with his older kids was for publicity since they are not going to be on Oprah. He is showing up at a game with them trying to look like a good dad.
    As IF! haha

I bought the Lions for Lambs DVD today, from Target. I thought it was gonna be 17 bucks but it was 20 bucks plus tax. And I swear to God, it was the last one on the shelf. It was the only one left. It was in the new releases section and I picked it up and shook it, cause it felt too light, and I wondered if it could somehow be empty, so I wanted to see if there was another one, but that was the only one left. So this left me wondering if all the rest got sold out or something. I saw the movie again, at my friend’s house, but he was playing his WOW with volume really loud, he wasn’t paying attention, but then, the movie actually got interesting to him and he kept watching it and turned the volume down on his game. He pointed out the part where, Meryl Streep tells the senator, he is running for president and Senator Jasper Irving, tells Meryl Streep that he is not running for president, and my friend pointed out to me, the rich kid student, when he tells Professor O Malley about politicians who say they are not running for president, who lie, and then you see them running for president. It was priceless.

Tom Cruise could capture Osama Bin Laden and those people will say he did it for publicity. To these people every thing is either a conspiracy and when they fail to build one, it is a PR move. They are just sad people with too much time on their hands.

  • Tia
    Apr 29, 2008 at 4:59 am

LOL! Lauren, wouldn’t that be great, if Tom captures Bin Laden!

  • amy
    Apr 29, 2008 at 5:47 am

well, if a once successful movie star DID capture Bin Laden - my first reaction WOULD be that it was a PR stunt!!
i mean, WHY would a vertically challenged, snaggle toothed, cult following has been be out hunting terrorists anyway EXCEPT for publicity for his bombing reputation!!!

Tom Cruise and his family has had everything including the kitchen sink thrown at them and through it all they have been dignified, never once reacting with anger or returning the insults that have been leveled at them and even the smallest member of their family.

I guess when there is nothing else left, there’s always the personal insults.

  • amy
    Apr 29, 2008 at 8:10 am

    oh tia - i didn’t name tom did i??
i found your comment comical so i returned what is to me, a comical reply - end of…
why do you persist is trying to get an argument out of people??
i don’t like tom - i do, however, feel for katie and even more so, i feel for little suri as well as connor and bella
why MUST we all like the entire family unit to be immune from your hostility??
this might be a gossip site, but i write my comments from the real world - and in the real world not everyone is loved or even liked, myself included, that is just how it is - why should a gossip site be an exception to that??

there are some commentors on this site that are taking others opinions far too personally - you simply cannot be in control of how others feel or think - and i for one, would not like a world where you could be!

  • amy
    Apr 29, 2008 at 8:14 am

    and by the way -

my comments WERE NOT ‘abusive’, did not contain foul language and were only ‘off topic’ because i was commenting on yours and laurens previous comments (gee, if THAT rule was strictly followed the majority of the posts on this site should, in theory, be deleted!!)

so HOW have i broken the rules???

    May 1, 2008 at 12:40 pm

yes mary, oprah has said that katie speaks a fair bit in one segment of the interview and toms lips DON’T MOVE ONCE!! amazing!! I am impressed - this alone could tempt me into watching!

  • No One Special
    May 1, 2008 at 1:28 pm

Amy: She could have been coached beforehand. I still believe that Cruise had the questions beforehand.

Recently when Katie has interviewed, she rarely addressed the question asked her. She dances around them. I think this will happen again.

  • amy
    May 1, 2008 at 2:39 pm

it is painfully apparent that katie has been drilled, drilled and drilled again on how to deflect awkward questions - and whilst that is part and parcel of handling press - hey, i wouldn’t want to lay myself open to the world on every topic - there is also a skill to it, and katie just hasn’t mastered that yet
when watching katie interviewed these past couple of years we are all aware that what we are seeing is a well rehearsed delivery of approved answers - such a shame

  • concerned mom
    May 1, 2008 at 3:09 pm

yes, Amy. If anyone wants proof of that, they simply have to go to youtube and look at her on David Letterman BEFORE TC and AFTER TC. Scary different.

  • No One Special
    May 1, 2008 at 3:39 pm

Maybe that is what she was learning to do at Scientology boot camp: How to interview better, deal with personal/uncomfortable questions, and handle the negativity and not let it bother her.

  • PuckHappy

I think this CO segment was taped a few weeks ago. It was reported that Katie was in Co without tc but I bet he was really there and they were taping the show. They kept tc out of site so nothing would leak just in case “O” was spotted.
