There’s a rumor going around that Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban are moving to Brentwood, California! They have supposedly bought a 7 million dollar estate in Brentwood where they will welcome their first child sometime in July. Kidman did previously live in Brentwood and sold that home for 10 million dollars. I guess she likes the neighborhood and sees it as a great place to raise her baby.

Wise decision Nic. Never understood why she chose to live far away from her kids. It is not as though Tom Cruise would move them to Australia or Nashville. To be fair her marriage took off to a rocky start with Keith in Rehab. They seem happy and am happy she is going to have her baby she has always longed to add to her two kids.

Both her and Keith are Australian, who can blame them for wanting to spend time in their homeland? The only surprising thing is that the kids don’t seem to be allowed to spend more time getting to know the other half of their heritage (with an Aussie mum, they would be Aussie citizens too).

Keith grew up in the US and yes I understand Nicole wanting to be closer to her family but you can’t have your cake and eat it, some thing gotta give. Uma Thurman moved across the road in NY to be near her kids despite an acrimonious divorce from Ethan Hawke, who even insults her in public. Am sure she too misses her homeland wherever that is. Nicole must live with the choices she makes.
I just noticed while going through the weekend boxoffice numbers that G. Clooney and Leatherheads made only $13,485,000 this weekend. How come no one is screaming tanked when it fell way below its market projections despite the star power? I wonder if they would be as quiet if it was Tom or Katie. Double standards, no?

neither of them is Australian. Nicole was born in Hawaii, Keith was born in New Zealand. Australia is not their homeland, but I agree with you - I read interview, where she said that Australia is her real home. But in other hand, she also said, that home is where are her husband (=Keith) and kids.

Nik also bought a home in Nashville. Media alleged that they were “nesting” there after their nuptials and there was a photo of her and Keith exiting a Tenn. Target with cleaning supplies in hand. These stars have homes all over the globe….just like Pitt and Jolie were supposed to make New Orleans there home. These stars never really have a home base…..the traveling is too demanding to set up permanent shop somewhere.

I actually take offence at your comments. They are ignorant.
How much do you travel overseas? How many foreigners do you know? You should know that being born in a country may entitle you to citizenship of that country as well as the country of your parents, but doesn’t make that country your homeland.
Australia is a very young country, and 25 per cent of people who are Australian citizens and call Australia their homeland, were born overseas.
I’m not sure how much you’ve travelled, but I really think you would have a different view if you had travelled and met some people, like me, who live abroad and work with people from all over the world, and spend every day trying to retain and promote the identity and culture of my homeland to everyone I meet.
I live in Eastern Europe, I have American friends who have had their kids here, but you try telling them their kids are citizens of this country. The first thing they do is go out and get their children a US passport. I’m sure Nicole’s parents felt the same about Australia. Homeland is about culture - Nicole was born to Australian parents who were expats in the US. She moved back to Australia when she was young enough not to remember anything about the US. She probably didn’t meet an American again until she moved to the States in her 20s. She would be an Australian passport holder, and probably only got a US passport when she decided to move the states (that’s what I did with my second passport. Which isn’t US btw).
Believe it or not, not everyone wants to call themselves American first and foremost.
As for Keith, his family *emigrated* to Australia when he was under six and he grew up in suburban Brisbane, in a suburb called Caboolture. He moved to the US when he was 25 years old - so I would say that that constituted ‘growing up’ in Australia.
And I wasn’t saying I think the kids should move to Australia, all I was saying is that it’s no wonder Nicole goes there to visit for extended trips, and the kids should go too - they have at least four cousins (her sister Antonia’s kids) and two (I’m sure loving) grandparents down under, and that’s just the family that’s in the papers, as well as Keith’s side of the family now.

I guess it must be disappointing that next week it is three years since Tom and Katie met and two since Sweet Suri was born. Those who said a lot at the time, …they will split up, he will never marry her, it is a sham, it is a contract the ends in two years, she will never act again, Suri does not exist, Suri is deformed, phew! can I go on, the list is endless… how wrong they were, three years later and I can gladly say ‘I told you so!’
I have noticed that the detractors tune is changing. They are tired of screaming ‘SPLIT’ every week, now they are devising new theories of ‘Katie has accepted her fate’, I would laugh if it were not so absurd.
I wonder what they will say after ten years and Tom and Katie are still going strong. Mark my words, if they is one hollywood couple that is not about to split, it is Tom and Katie, I said it then and I say it now.

Nicole is a bit strange. And I think if she really wanted to spend more time with B and C, Tom would have no objections. But I have always thought he appeared to be the more involved parent. But I think NK should have been spending more time

Well, I must say this thread is certainly moving along. Wow. Looks like some folks can’t let go of the anger. I say just let it go. What happened in the past, is in the past. I do believe that TC contributed directly to all the speculation by first making a spectacle of his and KH’s relationship and then disappearing completely for so long after Suri was born. Don’t see any prev speculaton about Bella and Connor because back then he kept his private life private. When a public figure opens that part of themselves up for view to the public, they become sort of fair game if you will, to any and all opinion. Like many others such as Britney, Paris, even Keifer S and certainly TC and KH have found to their dismay, opening yourself up to public view opens up a pandora box of chaos. There are so many famous people that just live their lives for the most part. Once in a while something hits the media, but for the most part, they just live how they want to live. Denzel Washington, Johnny Depp, etc. The papparazzi are ruthless however, but since people buy the magazines that pictures get sold to, we all are guilty in a way.

I am concerned that since she is probably considered a SP by the CoS, her contact with them will continue to be limited, but hope springs eternal. I think they need their mother in their lives more.

I like Nicole but it is obvious that she has a huge inferiority complex and self esteem issues. However, she does seem like a genuinely nice person. I am not sure about her parenting skills since I don’t much about that side of her. She only gets media time when she talks about Tom Cruise. On the other hand, TC never talks about her at all. Not a big fan of Keith. He seems like a nice lad but a no body in my opinion. They seem so different and hardly seem connected as a couple. One thing they have in common is that they both have issues to deal with. Good luck to them.

I am not a nichole ‘fan’, but what i will say is that there is probably far more to her not being around her children that we know about-
she comes from a very very close family and until her and tom split, they appeared to have a lovely family unit, i strongly suspect that tom’s ‘church’ plays a large role in why they aren’t with her as often - and wouldn’t YOU try to keep busy if you felt empty without your children around
don’t forget, bella and connor are being raised scientologists and are being home schooled by the church of scientology- a church nichole has left, i just think that as much as the die hard fans say there is more to katie and tom than we read about, i think that is true of nichole and her children
i wonder what would happen if tom and katie broke up and tom kept suri - would you all turn on katie and call her a ‘bad mother’ suddenly?

I don’t think we know how often Nicole sees her kids. She’s said they want to be in LA but that doesn’t mean she never sees them. Even when filming a movie there are days off and you can fly wherever and back again. Or Bella and Connor could visit her. I’ve always liked the way Tom and Nicole handled everything, not talking about each other in a way that can only hurt the children.

I agree diginity is rare in showbiz. Nicole could have chosen to cash in on the divorce. I doubt she is that kind of person but you never know what people can do for the love of fame and fortune. So for that I will give her credit. Apart from her barbed remarks here and there, she has behaved with class all the way.
However we have to be realistic, dropping in between shoots to see your kids is hardly raising them. Nicole has just cut down on her schedule for this pregnancy but since the divorce, she has always had a very busy schedule.
Maybe arrangement suits them but most mothers would rather live in the same city as their kids than relocate to their homeland because they feel ‘homesick’. That is my opinion and am just an outsider. The situation may totally be different from the inside.
Lets call a spade a spade, Nicole’s ‘hugely successful’ career had a lot to do with the fact that she was married to Tom Cruise. Even now, she ony makes headlines when her name is linked with his.

NK spends a lot more time in LA then people realize. She IS with her children as much as the contract allows. She just respects that her children like to be kept away from the spot light so her time with them is in that privacy of their home.

Or maybe she just made it for the money. Who really knows?? At least she has had a very nice lucrative career post TC and I totally agree that she sees her children in privacy and all that she can per whatever agreement they have.

Disagree with the part about Nicole’s notoriety still being tied to Tom Cruise. She has earned respect of the industry and the public in her own right. In fact, in the industry more so than Tom, since she has an Oscar and he doesn’t. I agree that her association with him certainly helped in the early days when he was a megastar and she wasn’t — as it would have helped Katie if they hadn’t made such a spectacle of themselves. Of course, in Katie’s case, it could still help. It’s not too late.

Lauren: To say Nicole has issues is completely wrong on your part. Are you now her psychologist? I could easily say KH has issues because she married a childhood fantasy or has to copy other people’s looks, as she copies Posh’s look or she is insecure about her role in life that she has to hurl insults at Nicole by telling the media Bella and Connor are more bonded to her. (Yes, I think what she said in that PARADE article was a diliberate insult to Nicole. It had nothing to do with the question asked–somehting about how TC handles girl bonding.) Also, from what I heard, KH was crying when she found out Nicole was expecting a baby because she wasn’t. But, she didn’t say it in public.
Maybe TC and Kh had insecurity problems with their wedding when they found out Keith wrote a song and sang it to his new wife at their wedding. Maybe that was Cruise and Holmes had serenade each other at their wedding.

In terms of Nicole talking about Cruise, I was under the impression the interviewer ASKED her about Cruise.
We don’t know the truth and I take what these stars say in interviews with a grain of salt. They are not going to go into interviews and air all the dirty laundry in their marriage. Katie is not going to say her husband is a control freak or Suri has been asserting her independence and going through the terrible 2’s. They are there to promote an idealized, romantic image, not, possibly a more interesting, reality.

We can say where Ms. Kidman was for the last few years because she has said where she’s been…………To quote her she moved to TN for her personal life. She went to Australia to film the movie of the same name which took well over 8 months to shoot.
Bella and Conor did spend time with their mom in Australia on that shoot………….Not together but separately i believe.
NK has spent the better part of 2007 in Australia and prior to that she was in TN.
We’ll see where she and Keith decide to finally settle……………They both have loudly hinted TN.

NK sold the house that she was awarded (by a Judge, NOT tom) in the divorce agreement.
Nk made plenty of money during their marriage. So she was NOT awarded anything that she did not work for.
Nicole did talk about the heartbreak of her children in a interview in the Sept issue Woman’s Day:
While Isabella and Connor briefly visited their mum in Australia earlier this year, they have chosen to spend their holidays at a Church of Scientology camp in Oregon.

Tom and Nicole have shared custody, and both have said that in interviews. We only see a few pictures of Bella and Connor and what they’re doing the rest of the time is just us speculating I think. Airplanes probably are not as frightening to any of them as they are to me! They look healthy and happy and I think Tom and Nicole have done a great job raising them.

I have also commented about how many of you pretend to be in the know about these two, yet we are all reading the same stories. I guess I have better things to with my time than spend all day researching these two out.
I find it amazing how many, including yourself, have used tabloids as fact when the news is positive. But for some reason, they are all liars when they are negative. There is definately a bias and double standard on this site.
Personally, I think the truth is somewhere in between. Or maybe one side is closer than we all know. I believe when stars sue and get mad about things it is probably because the story hit a little too close to home. As Angelina Jolie said once if it is not published in the New York Times, than it is not true and don’t worry about it. (And she has had a lot of nasty things said about her.)In other words, even PEOPLE is not a reliable source, as you all like to quote them since they are usually favorable to the Cruises.

I hear a lot from friends in the business who think they are in the know, and honestly what do any of us know as ‘truth’. There are so many different truths. And it is a small world, people do see and hear stuff, it is fun trying to piece the truths together. And I agree somewhere in the middle, but it is fun piecing it together with all the different opinions. I mean… perception alone makes for different truths.
I dont think we can take this stuff too seriously.
But I know many people do because of their own personal beliefs or experiences. And I get that, but honestly we should just be here to chat, and have fun with it.

My issue is just with those who have to jump all over the rest when they connect the dots in a different, less favorable light or when someone brings up a less than glowing report of the Cruises. Usually the argument has to do with the fact that tabloids were used, when they used them too as a source. I have even posted reputable sources like foxnews and been chewed out because it wasn’t glowing.
Nothing is that perfect, even if Katie herself says everything is perfect.

Maybe I am getting to old and out of the “zone”, but I come to a site like this to chat have fun and trade some interesting banter. In all actuality, I love to hear different people’s opinion. Life would be boring if we all thought exactly alike. Also, I personally don’t get upset if someone doesn’t agree with me. When you have teenagers disagreeing with you every minute, you just kind of “chill” as my daughter says. Anyway, some interesting comments were made. As my dear old grandma would have said, there’s his side, her side, and somewhere in the middle is the truth. Now what it is, is always a point of contention.

No One Special, we are def reading the same stories but some of you seem to edit the story to fit you. E.g. I think it was you who posted a comment made by Michelle Williams in another thread. Making it sound like she said a different thing when she simple made a single comment. I don’t state gossip as a fact nor positive story but I usually try to correct ppl when they write something completely different from what it has been said or printed.

Fox news is not a reputable source - FACT. It is sleazy and will often recount rumours as if they were fact. Their research is also shallow and their opinions prejudiced. That is not what I call a reputable media house.

Doug I think differing opinions and ideas too and find it rather refreshing. And I love a great debate but can’t do that on this board too much as anything negative about TC is considered hateful here. I am a KH and Suri fan. Still, this board has some great posts and usually pictures. I notice however, that lately there are a number of new stories out about TC and KH but they aren’t hitting this board.

Hold on…I don’t take every negative thing said against tom or katie as hateful but like you said people have different opinions and ideas and its very interesting but even the fans have the right to dispute what its been said about the couple if they think its not true.
What I don’t get is, some people didn’t have any problem when all the comments here used to be one sided and very hateful! I have a question for, did you actually commented why all the comments by Amy, Lib, Mia, Carla and co…were very hateful towards the fans and Cruise family? When ever the fans say something positive or try to defend the family they were accused of all sort.

I think there are/were some here that when they read what THEY term “hateful” they don’t debate it or defend it. They personally ATTACK the the poster.
What many on here like is to hear all the opinions of tomkat and leave the personal attacks of the posters out of it.
