Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes

News About Tom, Katie and Suri on Easter

by Julie on March 26th, 2008

I don’t have any pictures and neither does PEOPLE, but they are saying that Tom Cruise , Katie Holmes and Suri were spotted standing up and singing at the House of Blues’ Gospel Brunch in West Hollywood. They were there to celebrate Easter with Cruise’s sister and mother. PEOPLE is also saying that the family wore all cream, and shared a long communal table in front of the stage. Onlookers said that Suri was clapping to the music as Katie danced along with her. They also said that “Suri was the center of attention.” How cute. :)

    No Pictures. Not True.

  • Kelliquest
    Mar 26, 2008 at 9:38 am

Good for them that they were able to do something “without” pictures being taken. If it is not true, oh well, but if it is I am sure they had fun knowing they could keep something private. Easter services should be kept private….heck, if the negative ones and haters saw that they would have too much to talk about….lots of stories would come out of that.

ı only believe People Magazine. I think the others are all tabloits but People mag gives true news. So ı believe them. I loved how they loved easter and really miss sweet Suri. She is ony 23 months old but she has a wonderful personality

I agree Kelliquest. I hope it is true and that they were able to enjoy Easter without all the flash bulbs.

Easter is the most spiritual of all celebrations in the Christian religions. TC’s mom and sister must be Christian and not Scientologist. Was nice of the others to join them.

    Mar 26, 2008 at 10:32 am

Is it really cute? I don’t think so. Don’t forget that Tom has three kids - don’t forget Bella and Connor! Where were they? I really hope that they were with their mom (= Nicole, not Katie of course).

  • Lauren
    Mar 26, 2008 at 10:40 am

Tom’s mum is catholic. I am sure Katie too still cherishes her catholic beliefs. Every one has a right to believe what they want.

I still would have liked to see pictures of the day. I miss Suri. There is no way she can fail to be the centre of attention. She is very cute, charming and a show off..lol.

    Mar 26, 2008 at 11:20 am

TC’s mom and Katie are according to Tom himself, just Scientologists. Of course, he has stated that you can be Catholic and Scientologist or any faith and be Scientologists, but everyone around TC is Scientologist. Even nannys have to have gone thru at least the first few studies. The truth of the matter is that if you look seriously at what Scientology is, you can not be a part of any other faith based group. I hope they had a good Easter, but I am certain, having studied for myself enough about the CoS, that no other faith can be included. Show me where Katie has had her child dedicated in the Catholic Church. From all reports, she deeply desired it to happen, but apparently it wasn’t allowed.

  • concerned mom
    Mar 26, 2008 at 11:22 am

dedicated would be in the Protestant faith, In the Catholic, I guess they call it Baptized. That child is being raised totally by CoS methods.

  • anna
    Mar 26, 2008 at 1:12 pm

I don’t know Katie personally so all the reports I’ve heard about wanting to have Suri baptized but not being allowed came from the tabloids, not sure I believe everything I read there. But whatever our beliefs, celebrating with family, brunch and music sounds good to me! Hope it was a nice day for the family.

  • Mary
    Mar 26, 2008 at 1:24 pm

    Sounds good to me too!
From that report the family seems to have had lots of fun including little Suri.

  • tyler
    Mar 26, 2008 at 2:34 pm

Then, it must be difficult for those in the family that would like to observe Catholicsm, but don’t because of TC’s preferences. I don’t know much about Scientology, but there appears to be such a stretch between that and Catholicsm.

  • tyler
    Mar 26, 2008 at 2:43 pm

I was really holding my tongue, because I didn’t want to be deleted again, but it saddens me that a person who is obviously deeply routed in a faith like Catholicsm would be asked to surrender their faith in order to accommodate another individual with a more dominant personality. I had my say, I’ll be quiet now.

  • Jenna
    Mar 26, 2008 at 4:07 pm

My opinion…..not true. Never happened. Tom is not a Christian. His mom converted to Scientology as well. I would need a pic to believe this story. If it is true, he took them all there for Suri so she could experience some “sort” of Easter celebration. He probably looks at Easter as a Spring time holiday not as the Passion and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Jenna
    Mar 26, 2008 at 4:10 pm

There is no similarity between the Christain faith and Scientology. TC does not celebrate Easter…what silliness…he is a cult member, plain and simple.

  • Mary
    Mar 26, 2008 at 4:46 pm

Not all in Christianity celebrate Easter……………you’ll find many christian churches that don’t observe it.

Tom was about to enter the priesthood. Instead, he now believes, or pretends to believe that extra terrestrial beings from a galaxy far, far away, is coming to earth, to destroy all of it’s inhabitants. Never give up; never surrender.

I trust what comes from People magazine, better than the other ones, People is the most reliable. Too bad we have no pictures but i understand, cause of the crap that the media likes to make out of it.

I look forward to next time

So that I wouldn’t just be talking to say something, I called up a friend who has a sister who converted to Scientology. If they were at the House of Blues, it was just as a get together or party because from what I was told, scientologists do not celebrate or recognize Easter. Also, scientologists are scientologists alone. My friend said she didn’t know where they got that you could be Catholic, Baptist, Jewish, etc. and still be a scientologist. She stated in a pained voice because she had first-hand knowledge of what her sister was involved in that you’re either in it all the way or you’re not.

  • anna
    Mar 26, 2008 at 5:41 pm

Maybe I’m misunderstanding what the House of Blues’ Gospel Brunch is. Isn’t it just a Sunday brunch with live gospel music at a restaurant? We have no way of knowing what Tom and his family’s beliefs are but having a meal and listening to good music with your family would be a good way to celebrate the spirit of the season no matter what seems to me.

  • Jenna
    Mar 26, 2008 at 8:17 pm

We actually do have a way of knowing what TC and his family’s beliefs are Anna b/c he has stated as such. One very obvious time he stated such was his interview with D. Sawyer a week before the birth of Suri. Pls be accurate when you post.

  • Jenna
    Mar 26, 2008 at 8:20 pm

To defend your point Mary pls clarify/state which Christian churches do not celebrate Easter. I challenge you to give me two names of Christian churches that do not acknowledge Easter.

  • Sydney
    Mar 26, 2008 at 8:28 pm

Yes, I do recall that very interview with Diane Sawyer where he state some people could be Catholic and Scientologists and so forth, but that they (I guess meaning he and Katie) were just Scientologists.

Julie, I think that Coby Jones is out of line on this one. Everyone should be respected. Calling individuals antisocial on this site hits below the belt. What kind of “fan” site allows “fans” to name call and then say that things are “running smoothly.” If that is allowed, I don’t think things are that “smooth.”

  • carolyn
    Mar 26, 2008 at 9:05 pm

This is such a wonderful website finally, so smoothly run. It is so wonderful Kate had a blessed holiday with her beautiful family, all dressed in matching colors, singing in bliss. These are truly amazing special people, so down to earth and family oriented. It is a beautiful thing, amazing. Not to mention their wealth, beauty and talent, just awesome.

  • Jenna

    Mar 26, 2008 at 9:30 pm

Sorry my post was confusing. I just meant that I don’t assume I know exactly what people’s beliefs are based on their religion. But mostly was just saying it sounds like a fun way to celebrate the day.

  • PuckHappy
    Mar 26, 2008 at 9:40 pm

Sounds like they had a wonderful day! My friends saw them at a easter egg hunt for the poor children. They said that after they left the downtown LA mission they were headed to childrens shelter to color easter eggs and serve dinner.
They are such blessed people that never stop doing for others.
So unlike all of the other stars that only SHOP SHOP SHOP!

  • SoCalGirl
    Mar 26, 2008 at 11:50 pm

The negative posters are back only they have changed their names and are not as straight forward (at this time) as they were before. One can see that the tone these posts are written sounding like the others who for some reason devote their day and night to bashing tom and katie. Read between the lines and you will see too. What in the world is their personal problem that they have to knock tom and katie on everything. They sound like the same one or two people just having several different screen names. Their writing styles are all the same. Wow!

  • Jan
    Mar 27, 2008 at 2:33 am

Yes, the haters are creeping back in. They want pictures of the Cruise family, then criticise them for wanting to “promote” themselves in a Christian ritual. They always seems to be between a rock and a hard place.
Besides, they do nit have to visit this site,

    Jan

  • bumblebeej
    Mar 27, 2008 at 4:00 am

Well, I think that SoCalGirl is Jessy with a changed name. The fan who loves TC and family, but hates anyone with an opinion. And I don’t think any of the old posters could be *bothered* to come back here and post with a different name.

As to why they seem to have ‘changed their tune’ like you accuse PH of, well, it’s because there is a new comment policy. As many people have stated, they love Suri, don’t mind KH but think that TC is a fruitloop. Being two-thirds a TomKat fan in this sense, there are some people who don’t want to miss the news on this blog altogether and still like to post - like concerned mom.

I’m sorry, but the whole point of a board is to share opinions. Regarding photos for proof: TC and KH were so overt with being public and having photos taken everywhere that it’s no wonder people are skeptical when there’s a report that they did something without being photo’d. I can understand people’s skepticism.

Mary, perhaps you were talking about Orthodox Christians when you say they don’t celebrate Easter? If that’s the case, it’s simply that they don’t celebrate Easter (and with some, like Russian and Ukrainian Orthodox, Christmas) at the same time as Protestants and Catholics. This is because they adhere to the Julian calendar (the one that was used until the 1700s or something) when they are setting the dates for their religious holidays. This year, Orthodox Easter will take place on 27 April. Last year, Orthodox Easter was on the same date as our Easter - just a coincidence.

“They are such blessed people that never stop doing for others” ??? Please tell me exactly what it is they do for others, besides donating millions of $$ to the Church of Scientology and attending benefits dressed up in designer clothes. I don’t recall ever hearing or seeing either tommy or katie involved with hurricane katrina efforts (even thos COS had a presence there), rebuilding new orleans, helping people in africa with water, food and basic needs, helping orphans, helping the homeless, the mentally challenged (and they wouldn’t there b/c COS considers those folks inferior), the physically challenged, special needs folks, etc etc. What is it that they “never stop doing” that is making this earth a better place???

  • catinthehat
    Mar 27, 2008 at 4:29 am

“So unlike all of the other stars that only SHOP SHOP SHOP!” Ummm, that’s basically all katie is ever photographed doing!

  • Kelliquest
    Mar 27, 2008 at 5:27 am

I think they only get her photographed shopping because the pops know where to hang….they don’t hang out waiting at churches or shelters. Would they get pictures there on off days or any day for that matter? No, they wouldn’t. I shop more than I go to shelters and to church. I shop for food, kids stuff, and stuff I don’t need :)!

And, there is good in TC….I do think that is why people want to knock him. People want to see him fail for some reason?!

  • Anne
    Mar 27, 2008 at 5:38 am

I think Tom has the right to believe what he wants and to go where he wants. If he wants to go to a mosque, it is not a crime. If he wants to celebrate with Christian friends, it is not a crime either. Islam and christianity do not have to be similar to scientology for one to go there and have fun with family and friends of their special days. He does not have to believe them to go there either.

Katie also has the right to shop till she drops. It is her money and her husbands money and just because she does not advertise whenever she gives to charity like some stars does not mean that she does not give to charity. She has money in her own right as an actress.

Get off your computers, stop hating on strangers and make your own money and give to charity.

Scietologists believe Christianity is a myth propagated by evil aliens to dupe the people of Earth. They also believe Jesus, the Savior who was resurrected and why Easter is celebrated, preferred men. Yeah, a very Christian religion here!!

It was actually Will Smith who recently said you can be Christian and Scietologist. Sorry, but the two don’t work together. I think he was trying to justify his own conversion.

Katie gave up Catholicism for Cruise and his money. Apparently, she also agreed to follow just Scientology and raise Suri strictly Scientologist.

I believe the reason this site is such a draw is because the Cruises are an enigma. Like them or not, they are intriguing. You have this young, somewhat naive, mid-western girl who falls into the lap of a very powerful and wealthy middle-age Hollywood icon and transforms herself in his name. Add to that, the icon, who was previously very private and dignified, creates a public spectacle, drawing attention from every corner of God’s earth. It’s like a novel that people can’t put down.

  • Lauren
    Mar 27, 2008 at 10:48 am

Agreed Tyler. Tomkat are fascinating. But like a very interesting novel, someone may read it, is gripped by it but then detest it. I understand that some may find Tomkat fascinating yet not like them, what I don’t understand is the obsession (not need but obsession) to villify, slander, attack and harrass them. That is not normal behaviour in my opinion. Just like I would find it weird if someone did not like the novel ‘Gone with the wind’ or the movie ‘titanic’ and makes it a point to visit their websites every day to have a go at them and express their dislike in many different ways while at the same time knowing these works of art word by word. Pretty creepy if you ask me.

  • cynthia
    Mar 27, 2008 at 10:57 am

tyler, this site is such a draw because here these truly great people can be idolized, haters must stay away or watch out, you will not be allowed to post, you must say nice things about these icons, they deserve adoration not hate, they are awesome, isn’t Katie the Jackie O. of our day?

  • anna
    Mar 27, 2008 at 11:09 am

I think someone asked about Christians who don’t celebrate Easter. Many don’t, either because they associate Easter with the earliest celebrations of death and rebirth that predate the Judeo-Christian traditions or because they are strict followers of the Bible and think it isn’t mentioned there. People hold different beliefs even in the same church and there are so many churches so hard to know what different churches do. I think the Jehovah’s Witnesses have a strong position against the celebration and maybe some of the Church of God denominations and I’ve heard some Seventh Day Adventist churches celebrate it and some don’t.

Not that all that has much to do with brunch and gospel music!

  • No one Special
    Mar 27, 2008 at 11:38 am

Let me guess, they were just attending a concert then. Sorry, but to go to church on a very important Christian holiday is to say that you believe or want people to think you believe it. Cruise is a very outspoken Scientologist. So, guess what he is. My question: Why is he giving the appearance of being a worshipping Christian, if to quote Cruise he and Katie are only Scientologist? Maybe someone can explain the inconsistency to me.

I can say one thing, I didn’t realize threatening was now allowed on this site. Thanks for the heads-up Cynthia. I certainly would not have considered Tyler a hater. Just someone who doesn’t blindly worship people.

  • anna

The People sighting was at the House of Blues’ Gospel Brunch not at a church. Maybe that’s what’s causing all the confusion. House of Blues is a chain of restaurants with live music, on Sunday they have a brunch and gospel music. At least I think that’s right. Anyway, Easter is a holiday as well as a holy day and many people celebrate the day, religious or otherwise, with family, food and good feelings.

  • Cali-lily
    Mar 27, 2008 at 6:11 pm

This did not happen. Why? Because there are NO pictures. Everything Tom does is about the media exposure. No pics/no happen…

Besides, the entire family have converted to the CO$. It is as hoaky as when they sing carols at Christmas. Xenu has replaced Christ in that family.

Why why why are some people here so cruel and sceptical? If the Cruise family had their photos taken, they are so-called “media whores” and if there are no photos, there is such a lot of speculation from these media experts, I think they are even worse than the papparazzi who hound every celebrity they can see.

Leave the Cruises alone unless you can make sensible comments

    Mar 28, 2008 at 7:17 am

I doubt people come here because it is the only source of news. I think it is a habit that haters had formed and they still can’t believe that it is no longer a hub for their hate messages and anti- scientology propaganda. However with time, they will find somewhere else and break the habit eventually. It will take time but it will happen. There was this site called ihatetomcruise.com with idol, hateful and sick people, it has not been updated in ages. That is what will happen when haters are starved of what to feed on. All we have to do is to be patient.

    My second point is:

It is frustrating to see posters labouring under a misconception and venting out their rage over that. Tom and family were not in a church but at a brunch and they have a right to be wherever they want. We only see less that 2% of their lives and then we decide that everything they do is for the media.

Anne, the truth is the other sites are much harsher toward the Cruises. This one is mild in comparison, but I doubt that regardless of how hard you wish, it will never become a lovefest because most people have intelligent and spontaneous, not programmed thoughts. Too much gushing is just as bad as too much bashing.

  • Sydney
    Mar 28, 2008 at 6:45 pm

I do highly respect this couple, but I also call it like I see it. I believe in giving credit where credit is due. I don’t adore anyone, and that even includes my family members to the point of overlooking wrongdoing. If they could come on this blog; they would Amen that!! As I stated at the start, when they should be given credit, I believe in recognizing it. On the flip side, I don’t and never have been the type to overlook what my mother would call “mess.” In this world, I’ve learned from many different people that in order to grow and not fall for just any old thing, you have to be able to differentiate right from wrong. Yes, I’m a fan, but I’m not so much of a fan that I loose my sense of right and wrong. From childhood, we are praised and good things are said about us when we do the right thing in life. Also, we should hear about screw-ups too. Not just for criticism, but to help us to become stronger. I never liked being told when I screwed up by my parents, but in the end, I’m glad they had the guts to be honest with me because it helped me straighten my life up and get myself together.

  • Zoe
    Mar 29, 2008 at 7:29 am

I support Tom. I have never been a fan of Katie, she is fine, but just wanted to show not everyone here is a “Kat” fan.
I am not a Scientologist, nor do I care what he says or does about my religion or any other.
Why cant he just be a nice guy with his OWN beliefs? What I dont get is why everyone “hates” him so much. One could pick apart almost any religion or belief in the same way, but does Tom HURT anyone really?
And if you say Suri I will laugh.

I am so glad they are so under the radar these days, and I hope they stay there, it is clearly driving the malcontents crazy.

  • Anne
    Mar 29, 2008 at 8:46 am

    Tyler,
Too much gushing is just as bad as too much bashing.
    _________________________________________
Yet I never saw you complain about the excessive bashing. How hypocritical!

I am a fan a gushing fan (obviously) I have always liked Tom Cruise. I wasn’t so into blogging till Tomkat. Infact, before Tomkat the whole scene was boring. I was happy for Tom to find a girl like Katie. I am sure all is not rosy in their marriage like in many marriages but I don’t believe in washing dirty linen in public.

I understand the situation Tomkat find themselves in. Their relationship raised a lot of sceptism. They are under a microscope and if Katie said anything negative, it would be blown out of proportion.

I think they are happy, I hope they are. They are people like us, it is as though people expect them to be perfect. Act in only the most successful movies, space their kids at the right time suitable to public demands and always wear their clothes and hair as the public demands.

It is mostly the same people who run from website to website spreading anti Tomkat propaganda. I think it was Lauren who pointed out that as fans why spend energy defending Tom and Katie against attacks from these so called ‘intelligent, independent minded’ *roll eyes* posters when we can go to sites where we can happily catch up with all the gossip without any nastiness? I am glad this site is now one such site.

Zoe, from your previous post, he can believe whatever he wants to believe even in aliens coming to earth. The fact of the matter is however, that there are many people that have been literally hurt by this so called religion. If you were interested and your computer is not scientology controlled, there are plenty of websites that show just how scary it is. Meanwhile, he keeps recruiting other stars and while they get lots of perks and special treatment, find somebody out in the ‘real’ world who signed on for a billion years in their Sea Org. Sounds silly but is truth. And by the way Anne, I have NOT changed my name or my opinions. But this site still seems to have room for differing opinions. I am not bashing TC personally as I don’t know him personally although his behavior since he fired that original publicist and hired his scientologist sister has fueled a bunch of this talk all over the net. There are other sites where actual ‘bashing’ occurs. Stuff on here is pretty mild–some of us just don’t feel filled with adoration.

Guess what? I was at the HOB on Easter. Tom, Katie, Baby Suri, Tom’s Mom and BOTH of his other children Bella and Conner were there too. The entire family was having a fantastic time. Singing, dancing and enjoying life. And yes, there are pictures - but not from Paparazzi…pictures from Fans, like me, who took some that day!

SO many pics and NONE on the net??

With the way some people try to make a dollar who do get the chance to get “up close and personal,” you would think that the pics would have made their way onto some website or rag magazine. I’m just saying.

  • LB
    Apr 1, 2008 at 11:13 pm

Yes. KK is correct. They were at the House of Blues. TomKat and Suri and their various family members were there and sitting at the table right next to mine. My boyfriend and I didn’t get specific pictures of them because they looked like they were enjoying themselves so much without all the flashes detracting from the show on the stage. Tom’s mother even wished me a “Happy Birthday” after I got off of the stage–no doubt she was probably also thankful that we weren’t bombarding them with flashes even though we were literally five feet away from them.

As for the “religious aspect” of the show. It was a SHOW. There was gospel music. It was Easter. That being said, it was entertainment that was far from being a church sermon or a dramatic religious statement.
