  These pics are disturbing to me on so many levels- first- whatever the baby is holding looks small enough to be a choking hazard. then notice how she is squinting from the blaze of flashbulbs going off and by the third pic she looks scared and very distressed and about to cry. never mind the assult to her psychologically- those flashes have to effect her eyes. if one is really a concerned parent- one will take measures to protect that child, ie; shield her with a blanket over her head, have so many people around her that she can’t see the paps, use a large umbrella or umbrellas to shield her, etc- I’m sure these situations are very scary for her, poor baby, but no one seems to care! Sad :(

  I am beginning to realize that this couple is not going to be able to win with people no matter what they do or do not do. I looked carefully at the 3rd picture and it is very hard to tell from that angle exactly what kind of expression Suri has on her face. She could just be making a face about something or she could be about to cry (children do cry A LOT) or she might very well be scared about all the flashbulbs going off. It occurs to me that if these parents were to put a blanket over her head then people would criticize that and call them crazy for that behavior. They get criticized for just CARRYING a blanket with them. I find it unreasonable to expect them or any other celebrity to carry umbrellas to shield their child from paps. I find it really funny when people say that they are exploiting Suri by having her in public and being photographed with her. “No other celebrity couple uses their child this way”. What does that even mean?! They are leaving their homes…or hotels or whatever and going places….restaurants, stores, people’s homes. Are celebrities with children supposed to stay home all the time and keep their children indoors so that they can’t be accused of exploiting them?

  Angie Jolie has gone after the paps about photographing her kids…not offering them up for cover stories on magazines like KH/TC to promote Scientology. KH has also done photo shoots with US Magazine of her and Suri shopping in Paris. That was all arranged beforehand with the photographers. AJ has also used umbrellas to shield her kids.

  At least they are holding her normally in these shots instead of facing out for the photo op like they usually do.

  Angelina and Brad have also been photographed in toy stores, at parks, walking around with their children etc. Why are they not criticized for “exploiting their children”? This same behavior from Tom and Katie has most people on this site screaming from the roof tops about what horrible parents they are! Why don’t we put the blame where it is due - the obnoxious, ridiculously intrusive papparazi?

  Angie has blasted the press for photographing her kids and keeps body guards around them, not arranging Paris shopping/photographing trips and facing the kids out. AJ can also go to a movie premiere without having Shiloh and gang out in full PR force. Cruise takes Suri out and has her facing out to be photographed. Look at the NY premiere photos.
  Shiloh has also not been used as a PR stunt for the causes that Pitt-Jolie support, unlike Suri for Scientology parenting. I would respect Cruise and Holmes if they actually blasted the press for photographing their kid. They don’t. It has been said that KH/TC when they see the cameras have posed like the loving family with Suri in the front. (Look at the pics from France in June. Cruise staged Suri with him and KH. The paps who took the photos said Cruise and Holmes posed with Suri for them.)
  Also, producers have said that Cruise has used Suri’s birth and KH/Suri in public to promote his movies and that is why they hate working him because he has used his personal life, KH and Suri, for publicity for himself and the films he is in.

  Experts have said that Princess Diana was so loved by the press because she knew how to stage photographs, from what she wore to where to sit. There is a famous one of her alone in front of the Taj Mahal alone, which experts said she staged because she was alone at a monument built by a ruler to his beloved wife. She was staging how unhappy she was in her marriage. In fact, the press were called by Dodi and her all summer to inform of them of where they would be so they could be photographed together: the Princess in Love!! We all know how she died.

  Cruise and Holmes are doing the same thing with Suri. They did it in the beginning, with KH showing up at soccer games adn hugging BElla afetrwards. It was staged make Kh look like the great step mom. Now they do it with Suri. LEts pose on the dock to look like a loving family because there are the cameras. I hope nothing tragic comes of all their PR hunting.

  They are not posing for cameras when leaving hotels or being good parents at soccer games. They are just living their lives - when we always saw them with Bella and Conner they were criticized. Now that we don’t see them with the kids, they are criticized! It is a no-win situation for them!

  Actually, I find those pics ridiculous!

  They do pose for most of the pics that we see of them in public. I find it ironic that Brad and Angie can leave a hotel without shots of them doing so, yet TC and KH can’t leave without the five thousand shots. If you notice Suri is always facing out and unprotected from the cameras by her parents. I wonder why that it is–oh yeah, that’s why the press is there and TC and KH know it.

  I have seen with the press that if you keep posing for them like the Cruises do, then they will come. Give than an inch and they take a mile or in the case of the Cruises: give them 1 3/4 miles and the press takes the mile.

  My rebuttal to the game thing is why aren’t they going to the games now? Why are they not the Soccer parents of the year again this year? I am sure Suri would love to run around outside while the parents watch.

  It is a no win situation, but a two year old does not need her pics plastered every where to gratify her parents vanity. I think KH enjoys the cameras and the photo ops, but it is not appropriate for a child.
  And yes, it is quite easy to see how all of the publicity is gratifying KH’s ego. She is the mother of TC’s daughter, the most photographed baby in all of history, and TC’s trophy wife.
  She also had no problem with wanting Suri to model at age 1 years for Baby Gap and even now, Suri is modeling all her new designer clothes every where her mom drags her. (Let’s all “Ohh” and “Ahh” for KH’s fashion sense for her baby.) I believe any parent who does that, whether famous or not, is only gratify their ego and harming their kid.

  Cruise and Holmes had no problem with the US magazine cover spread of Suri and that was when I blew my top about the child exploitation because that is all it is pure and simple–explotation to promote Scientology beliefs!!!! Where was the complaint from the people who were supposed to protect her. Their silence was defeanign. If anything, KH was the proud mother of a STAR!!
  Bella and Connor were victims of the early publicity and from what I understand, Nicole put a stop to that. Nicole purposely kept those two out of the media cameras from the beginning because as a mother, she knew she had to protect them.

  Well, they certainly don’t “exploit” the other two children. Most of us wouldn’t even know they have two other children. I’m sure TC is just about as wealthy as they come, but I sure would love to see the amount on Katie’s monthly clothing allowance. She always looks beyond fantastic and never seems to wear the same outfit twice. It also would appear as though Scientologists are not philanthropic because we never see the Cruises stepping out for charities. It’s all amount image. It’s true, there’s nothing they can do to change their image. No matter what they do at this point, it doesn’t matter. Nobody believes they say who they are or that their relationship is legitimate. In a word, icky.

  I agree that it is a no win situation at this point for these two. They have poisoned the public against them for so many reasons. They were criticized at the kids’ ball games because they were claerly not there to watch the games. It was obviously all for publicity. Every bit of it looked completely staged. I also agree that they p i m p Suri out to the paps. It bothers me they way the hold her facing outward as if presenting her, just like TomKat’s awkward hand holding, always presenting each other. Angelina and other celeb moms hold their children on their hips with the child’s body against the mother’s, not facing outward to be blinded by camera flashes. They way the Cruises prance around always presenting each other is really the only proof one needs to know that this is all a set up.

  OH! AND…. It seems a little ironic to me that the paps just happened to be there all those times in Germany when they went to the zoo or the park, or when they were leaving hotels in the middle of the night or wherever else they were presenting themselves, but NOBODY photographed KH running and training for the NYC marathon. NOT ONE SINGLE PHOTO! So clearly, when photos of these people are taken, it is because they WANT them to be taken, and probably alert the paps to their location and plans.

  Libra- you are so right- step parenting 101 is you don’t make out like teenagers in front of the children :P
  In 99% of the past pics (soccer games etc) TC and KH are joined at the hip and Bella and Conner are either not seen or trailing behind them totally ignored. pics of them coming out of a restaurant show them hand holding and smiling at each other and Bella is walking slightly behind them totally ignored.

  It is very disturbing and abnormal they way they hold her outward. Poor kids gonna be blind by the time she’s 3

  I don’t know if this will come up- it’s on justjared.buzznet.com. Nicole and Isabella are on the set of one of her movies. It’s not real recent but it was nice to see them holding hands and smiling (I don’t think I’ve seen any pics of Bella with a smile like this). I know Nicole hasn’t seemed like mother of the year very often but I hope this absence of the kids in the tabloids might mean they are spending more time with their mother? one can only hope…..

  What I find strange is how “in your face” they are about their love for each other and being the good parents and happy family, yet when it comes to events like Suri’s birthday, there is no word whatsoever. Not even a pic. I mean Brooke Shields and Dannilyn both had very public birthdays.
  They are even very silent about their one year anniversary of their so called wedding.

  Remember when Katie celebrated her birthday, while she was still pregnant? TC had a huge celebration for her in NYC, where he gave her stuffed animals and ice cream, and then she also was seen ice skating at Rockefeller Center, and her belly was sticking out and failrly huge. THe point I am making is that TC makes a big production out of everything, yet on the kids’ supposed birth day, the grandparents, (Katie’s devoted parents) didn’t even bother to leave their summer home in Florida, to witness their grandchild being born. ANd, the kid’s first birthday was not revered as a big deal either. Knowing that they were going to be in LA, the weekend of the kid’s birthday, to attend Gere’s birthday party, nothing was mentioned aboout the kid’s sameday birth there. It’s because everything is a sham, a fraud, and a hoax. I read that in the contract that she signed, before marrying the dude, she receives 30 million if she can stay married to him, for the first year. Well, like any job, she has gotten paid for her services.

  It is really amusing how you all talk about things here like they are FACT. It amazes me how so many of you are “in the know” about all this celebrity and can speak about them as though they are true. If my skepticism is showing then my message is coming across. I don’t believe a word of it. I am not saying that I believe everything is completely “normal” with these two but you all talk like it is a complete conspiracy theory and it is ridiculous. Also..OH MY GOD Balletmama…give the poor girl a break. Bringing back an old picture from how long ago? And wondering how much she was paid to look like that? That really takes the cake on ridiculous.   The pic was ridiculous, but for someone who is so concerned about her looks, she would not intentionally do something like this unless paid or for some kind of publicity. (The “yes I am breastfeeding a real baby” publicity thing. I was merely responding to Toledo’s make out pic for a gross/silly pic by these two.)

  I don’t know how much she is paid for all this, but it not for love. This is clearly a business arrangement. You don’t go to slurping someone in public and then engaged and pregnant after one business meeting and say it is legite. It is too unbelievable. As I said before: THEY ARE BOTH ACTORS AND THAT IS ALL THIS IS!!
  It becoming more apprarent as time goes by with how they interact in public and constantly push Suri out there to take the light off there lack of affection towards each other. (And Lilianne, even Princess Diana, the Press Princess, kept her kids out of the press when they were kids. This was quite a feat with the way she was followed.)

  Again, my objection to the whole situation is how she is allowing her daughter to be pimped out to the press, not only for Tom’s gain, but her own as well. A mother is supposed to PROTECT her kids from this nonsense. Cruise’s other two are to a certain extent because Nicole was insistant about it. Also, Angelina Jolie has protected her kids as best as she can. She has certainly yelled at the press enough…and Brad was right there with her telling them to stop. So, the press will back off when the parents tell them to.

  As for when Suri’s birthday is, unless there is strong evidence either way, I am not commenting on it. I have no basis for that and will not comment on who the dad is or whatever. I have even questioned the others about this point.

  I have no desire to get into any kind of contest trying to prove who is right. It is futile and pointless. However, I will say this….If Katie is so concerned about how she looks ALL the time then I believe we would see more shots of her looking totally glam instead of the every day ones where her hair looks unstyled with minimal make up. Also, she would look like she makes more of an effort to be “on” instead of seeing her looking tired, and worn or stressed out the way we sometimes do.

  I will also say that I will never understand how you or anyone can come to these sites and act like you know for sure that she is being paid to be with TC. Balletmama: When you state so matter of factly that “I don’t know how much she is paid for all this, but it is not for love. This is clearly a business arrangment” you are giving the impression that you know this for FACT. And you do not. It is your opinion…something that you personally surmise based upon what you observe or read. I think it is irresponsible and wrong to speak as though you know something for a fact when you don’t.

  I want to also respond to the remarks about KH and TC pimping their daughter out to the press…Balletmama…how do you or anyone else know for absolute certain that neither of these parents have never said anything to the press about not photographing their child? You made a reference to the Suri Cruise cover on that magazine…was it OK?….not sure but I did read that article and nowhere in it was ANY direct quote from TC or KH..they were all “sources close to the couple”. How do we know for sure how TC or KH felt about their daughter being on that cover? Maybe they were upset by it…but say nothing publicly because sometimes to do so fans the flames. Maybe they didn’t care about it at all. The point is that we don’t know.

  And lastly..I have to say that I feel Angelina Jolie does a fairly good job with her celebrity status but I feel that if she wanted to keep her kids more out of the spotlight then she should for God’s sake stop picking up her son from his school herself. Because HOW many pictures did we see of her doing that this past summer?? I know that as a mother it is a simple thing to do…get your child yourself and it is a shame that she should have to change that habit because some idiots want yet another picture of her doing that. But the facts are the facts. If she knows her presence will bring the photogs then send the nanny sometimes. Just my opinion.

  lillianne: Your right, it is my opinion and I have never professed to be an expert on these two. I made the assumption that it was implied that this was an OPINION SITE! If you look at my messages, i have never said I have sources or knew for a fact, etc. because I know it is all my opinion.
  KH’s actions have spoken volumes of what she believes in, though. And most newly married couples are not that worn down. I think that it is from the business arrangement. That is what I meant when I said they are lousy at acting the parts rigth now and Suri is the distraction from that. HEnce, Suri being seen everywhere with them. I also think that is the only source of happiness for KH.

  Any way, Katie has bad mouthed the press for what they have printed. She complained/cried about when they had the Suri conspiracy and also sent friends out to defend her and Tom last Spring. They have never criticized the press when they have been portrayed in a positive light (i.e. the loving couple/family). She can easily make a statement saying that article about Suri was inappropriate. Celebs have sued over lesser intrusions into their private lives. Cruise certainly has.
  Also, KH did contract People or whoever to photograph her shopping in Paris with Suri. That is pimping your child. She also carries the kid facing out for the cameras, been photographed pointing out cameras to Suri, the softball team shot in Louisianna…all pimping the kid out.

  Lillianne: I do respect your opinions and it has given me a chance to think about how I may have phrased things. I just cannot tolerate how that baby is being pimped out for her attention seeking parents.

  I think that it is important for kids to know and see their own parents in loving relationships. I do think that adults should keep their affection G rated in front of others and especially their children but I see nothing wrong with hugs and kisses and handholding. I believe it can only help children to see their parents in healthy relationships and we all know that physical affection is an important part of that. However, maybe the hand grabbing the hair pic goes a bit too far. I don’t know…I don’t think you have to spell it for the kids….”hey..we have SEX”…because, well, EEWW.

  lili, I happen to know FOR A FACT that tc and nicole kidman had a contract marriage. Anyone who worked at UA back in the day has seen that contract, including a friend of mine who was an assistant on the cruise team over there.
