More About Tom Cruise’s Appearance on Oprah

People Magazine has confirmed the report about Tom Cruise making an appearance on Oprah. I absolutely love the opening line of their article:
“Hold onto those sofa cushions: Tom Cruise is coming back to The Oprah Winfrey Show.”
I think we can all probably laugh at that line and I am hoping that something will be mentioned about that whole incident when he makes his visit. The whole world will be tuning in that day to see if it’s brought up don’t you think?
Cruise’s rep, Julie Polkes, tells People “Tom will be doing the Oprah show. He is really looking forward to it.” As are we Julie. :)
Here are a few tidbits about the show:
The show, which will appear in two parts during May sweeps, will celebrate Cruise’s career since his breakout role 25 years ago in Risky Business.
One part will be shot in-studio before a live audience. In the other, Cruise will show Winfrey around his Telluride mountain retreat and do a portion of the interview at the home.
I think this is a smart move on Tom’s part. Although it may be tough for him to come out in public like this, with everything that has been circling around him, I think that he needs to do this. I do hope he opens up about a few things and that he seems real and honest. I don’t have any dates of the shows yet, but I’ll keep my eyes and ears open. I rarely get the chance to watch Oprah, but I definitely will tune in the days he is on!

Julie, there was a great article about this in People. Looks like it will be in two parts…first live in the studio and the second at his CO home. Think he might show us some of it.. and a more intimate interview there apparently. I am sure it will garner huge ratings for Oprah. And maybe he can sort of settle things down a little about all the ‘goins on’ in the last couple of years. That pic by the reminds me of why I used to be a total fan. HOT!

This is from Entertainment Tonight:
First, Oprah will travel to Tom’s home in Telluride, CO, for a sitdown on May 2, where she’ll discuss “his family, life and the future,” with the superstar. Then, Tom will join Oprah in the studio on Monday, May 5 to celebrate 25 years since his star-making turn in ‘Risky Business.’ The show will also feature taped messages from his friends and colleagues, talking about his impact on cinema.

Well, I just want to see the cool man that his friends love. Cause they all have nice things to say and he does come off as a nice person with great charm. But I think that an interview at your home, is a good way to do things, because you are in your home, and its gonna be chill being in your spot. Then Him and Oprah and family can bond and talk together. I don’t mind as long as I see the way that Oprah feels about him. I can’t wait for Oprah to tell us about baby Suri! I wonder if she is gonna say that the baby is even more beautiful in person! I really want to hear about Suri. And Katie, I definitely want to hear about her too.

I wonder if he will rescue a stranded motorist on the show? The roads around Telluride Co. seem to be littered with them.
Sorry, but it happens so often with TC that this is definitely one of the stories that I think are fabricated.

I am looking forward to this now that it has been comfirmed. I do hope we see Suri and Katie and his family life.

It will be very interesting to see the body language that “O” has a hard time hiding.
And you SO know there will be shots of him being the dutiful dad being playful with Suri. Then several pics of all three kids interacting, showing the ever so happy family.
