Katie Holmes Wants to Detoxify
January 5, 2009 by Julie Bonner
Katie Holmes’s final week in the Broadway play “All My Sons” is coming to an end this Sunday, January 11th. We are all very familiar with the pictures of Katie looking warn out and she has good reason to be. I have read many, many times from those who star on Broadway that it is a grueling job and that rest is something that eludes you.
It’s being reported that Katie plans on partaking in her favorite detox program called "The Clear Body, Clear Mind Plan”, which is offered by Scientologist at three Gold Base centres in California and New York.
The plan consists of “a regime of exercise, sauna sweat-out, vitamins and minerals to cleanse bodies of toxins,” says a source.
"Katie is tired from balancing motherhood with her six-nights-a-week show and wants to get back into shape. The plan involves doses of the vitamin niacin to purify the body," the source added.
Whatever Katie does to rejuvenate after her time in New York, I hope she feels great and gets some rest and relaxation.

Katie doesn’t need to detox, she needs to eat more , lots more, needs to put on weight ,so she can look healthy again.
Oh My Goodness! I really hope Katie doesn’t do the Scientology detox program!! They use extremely high doses of niacin to detoxify and that’s been proven to cause problems with the liver!!
I agree with annie. Katie needs to relax, eat a sandwich or 10 and gain some weight, not participate in a medically unsound ritual that involved too much time in sauna and dangerous doses of niacin created by a science fiction writer!! I would rather her see a medical professional! I think that would be much safer!
A regular detox is good for everyone, famous or not. Avoiding junk food, stimulants, over-work and late nights is good. Time spent consuming plenty of raw vegan foods, raw juices and pure water is excellent. Plenty of gentle exercise, massage, saunas, vitamins and minerals. Plenty of rest. Nothing wrong with that.
I knew Mary would show up on this thread. Of course, I can’t say why, but we all know. LOL.
You knew that huh?
I can’t say why either Tyler but that Mary is the other one who post here occasionally.
This Mary sees no reason to justify what detox methods Katie chooses to use.
Carry on with the guessing when I’ll show up next.
What Mary suggested is right….and safe….but what she failed to write is that it is no longer safe when you ingest HIGH doses of niacin……..some is good but not what that “religion” and I use that word casually, recommends.
A “regular” detox is just fine, particularly if under the supervision of a doctor. The Scientology method is another story.
As Charlotte Rose and annie said, Katie needs to eat a few sandwiches and get some rest. That would help immensely.
i wish the mary’s would put a letter at the end of their names:)
Mary, you and I know that’s not the type of detoxification Katie will undergo. Too bad she doesn’t have true friends to help her through her situation.
I think we know Mary will spin anything Katie does, despite the fact that the detox she’ll do is actually the purif rundown. It’s dangerous. I don’t want Katie to do anything that’s dangerous. It scares me. I did the research on it. My first concern is for Katie’s health and well being and frankly thats all that matters.
The thing is, detoxing makes you lose weight and really thats the last thing Katie needs, obviously there is a bit of a health problem and no matter how much we speculate or me in paticular, because I speculate a lot , nobody here really knows what it is, but she looks different one day to the next, sometimes she looks totally drained, and the next day she looks perky, this seems to go on all the time with her .
Julie:
why are my comments all awaiting modif… I barely said anything?
She seems to look a little better when Tom’s in town. He probably takes over with Suri and pampers her. He, on the other hand, looks a little rough. He has had to keep two families going 3,000 miles apart from each other over the past six months, which can’t be easy.
But, I also agree with Annie that she doesn’t eat because the weight loss does not look like a healthy on her. She looks malnourished.
Kelly – I’m not sure why they are all awaiting moderation. Our spam system sometimes has a mind of it’s own and I can’t control it. I’ll have someone look into it though. I can’t see any words that would trigger your comments to make it through. I know it’s frustrating!!
