Wow, if this People story is true Katie Holmes is so sweet!
Fridays are on Katie, y’all.
As she shoots her latest movie, Mad Money, in Shreveport, La., Katie Holmes is making sure her fellow cast and crew members – all 200 or so of them – are well fed. For the third consecutive Friday she brought in a special treat.
"We got cupcakes," one cast member told PEOPLE. "They were good, too."
Holmes, who is costarring with Queen Latifah, Diane Keaton and Ted Danson in the comedy, started the Friday tradition on April 27, when she treated the set to 300 ice cream cones – a nice break as temperatures climbed into the high 80s.
The next Friday, Holmes arranged for more than 80 pizzas to be flown in from Chicago and baked locally before being delivered to the set.
"It was a lot of pizza," one fan says. "We had veggie, sausage, pepperoni. It was good pizza."
Meanwhile husband Tom Cruise and baby Suri have been making their own scene on the set. During one rainy day of filming, he introduced the talking and singing 1-year-old – who appeared "just as happy as could be" – to the cast and crew, telling her to say hi, which she did, a source says. After everyone oohed-and-ahhed over Suri, she waved "bye-bye" to the group as the trio left.
Says the source, "They all truly could not have looked happier? They were just like any other family in the South."

Here’s an idea for a cool publicity stunt; how about having KH feel really bad about some of the poor people in Louisiana, and help them by flying in a plane-load of those disgustingly sweet cupcakes from Sprinkles bakery located in Beverly Hills. They run about $3.00 per cupcake or $36.00 for a dozen. Then fly in the Pizza dough from Chicago and ice cream from the local convenient store. And for an added attraction, have little SUri twirl the baton and sing Twinkle, Twinkle little Star- How I wonder when I’m meeting Thar. What entertainment and caring at a bargain price!

I have lived in NOLA and the poverty in that area is so astounding as are the homeless in downtown LA
Tomkat including other celebs are so extravagant its annoying…Somehow I though Holmes would behave better due to her background, but apparently she was just waiting for the fab opportunity to get her hands on some real money in oder to squander it.

If I remember correctly, on her Birthday, Katie gave out presents to needy families, the same people derided her about Scientologists and christmas and called her all sorts of names. Now they want her to do charity on the film set. If reports came that she has been giving out donations in Shreveport, the same people would have screamed ‘publicity stunt’. I can’t believe how hateful and cheap some people get!
I repeat, it is her money, her choices. Is any of those poor residents slandered week in week out in tabloids or hounded by paps or have their babies called aliens?

I would think the people who REALLY matter are the ones who benefit from her HARD WORK, devotion and caring nature.
She doesn’t throw start studded parties and charge people THOUSANDS of dollars a head as a means of charity, she goes and lives for weeks at a time with these people to EDUCATE herself, and only the most ignorant hater would bash someone for their tireless humanitarian work.

“ We cannot close ourselves off to information and ignore the fact that millions of people are out there suffering. I honestly want to help. I don’t believe I feel differently from other people. Jolie also pushed for a bill to aid 70 million vulnerable children in the Third World which was signed by President Bush in November 2005, but so far no funding has been granted.[44] In addition to her political involvement, Jolie began using the public’s interest in her to promote humanitarian causes through the mass media. In May 2005 Jolie filmed a MTV special, The Diary Of Angelina Jolie & Dr. Jeffrey Sachs in Africa, portraying her and noted economist Dr. Jeffrey Sachs on their trip to Sauri, a remote group of villages in Western Kenya. There, Sachs’s United Nations Millennium Project team is working with locals to end poverty, hunger and disease. Jolie also arranged a deal with People allowing them to print the first picture showing her visibly pregnant in exchange for a $500,000 donation to Yéle Haïti.[52] In November 2006, while filming A Mighty Heart in India, she visited Afghan and Burmese refugees in New Delhi and met the Minister of State for External Affairs, Anand Sharma, praising India’s longstanding hospitality to refugees. Jolie spent Christmas Day with Colombian refugees in San José, Costa Rica where she handed out presents and met with Costa Rican officials. In February 2007, Jolie returned to Chad for a two-day mission to assess the deteriorating security situation for refugees from the Darfur region of Sudan. In an op-ed for the Washington Post she stressed the need for justice and the increased involvement of the International Criminal Court to establish an enduring peace.[53] In May, Jolie and Pitt donated $1 million to three relief organizations in Darfur and neighbouring Chad.[54]
Jolie has received wide recognition for her humanitarian work. On October 24, 2003 she was the first recipient of the new created Citizen of the World Award by the United Nations Correspondents Association. Cambodia’s King Norodom Sihamoni awarded Jolie Cambodian citizenship for her conservation work in the country on August 12, 2005; she has pledged $5 million to set up a wildlife sanctuary in the north-western province of Battambang and owns property there.[55] On October 12, 2005, Jolie was awarded the Global Humanitarian Award by the UNA-USA.[56] In February 2007, she was accepted by the bipartisan think tank Council on Foreign Relations for a special five-year term designed to “nurture the next generation of foreign policy makers”.[57]

I saw the picture of Suri on the Extra! web site. I didn’t see where I can access any video. Anyway, she does look sort-of cute. WHy don’t they trim her hair? It always looks so straggily and stringy. I’ve noticed that her hair is trimmed in the back, (from other pictures), but the front is shaped differently, and her hair always falls over her eyes. Aren’t they afraid that she might trip and fall from not being able to see properly, when she sings, runs and jumps around?

Ha ha ha ha, Carla, that was actually funny, in a nice way. Especially the last part. I agree her hair seems too long at the front. Any way I had never seen a baby with hair that long! I only wish they would put some cute ribbons in it. She would be a real doll.
The extra video is embedded in the kh site so am not sure you can have access to it but they show 2 or three pictures of Katie holding her while a local band is sereneding her for her birthday. Katie looks very young, pretty and happy.

It’s too hard to tell if there are any birthmarks or rashes under her hair, but I think her looks would show more, if her hair was better groomed. It puzzles me as to why her hair is so well-groomed in the back, but the front is so untidy.

Dear Lib, my best Star Tom Cruise at most makes one movie a year. Most of these movies premiere at Leicester Square in the UK. Actually all of them. The only reason I went to LA was because I had a ticket for Vanilla sky and Magnolia, I was in the US at the time and I went with friends to the LA premiere. I was single with no child. Now I have been so polite to indulge you with that response. You do not have to post if your ‘wit’ is desserting you. YOu don’t seem to have anything to say or do for that matter.

Yep, am a homophob, but I don’t hate gay people, they just give me the creeps. I have never been married or divorced. The problem is that you think am every one but when did I ever say I was married or dvorced? May be you understand better in bullet form.

Yep, but I don’t hate, it is too much an emotion to bear, so I ignore. When I know someone is gay, I just don’t cross paths with them. Life is too short to deal with the negativity of such people. You are just a poster child for gay people. They choose unhappiness and spend the rest of the world blaming every one for their sad, miserable life. Look at you what has TC done to you? And that Davis character,he chooses to be a drag queen and attacks TC who am sure has never heard of him. Such people I steer clear of, lfe is too short. Lets say if you were not on the Tomkat site and you were on a community site like Hellorazzi, I would never exchange with you. Even while I was there, don’t know whether you were there yet but I never saw your picture but I would just keep out of your way. I would never hurt any one for being gay, huh huh, but to allow a gay person in my life? Nope! Life is too short, thank you.

About Tom Cruise and Charities.
There are celebs who do charity and don’t cram it down our throats. Just like other celebs he makes an unspecified donation to a charities without all this fanfare and without needing to run to the media with every $100,000 drop in the bucket by announcing it to people magazine. If you google hard you’ll find charities he donated but weren’t made a big deal and no amount was specified. He has donated to charities such as (according to IMDB Bio) The Ashley Flint Fund, The Tsunami Relief Fund, Themoms.biz Diabetes Fund, Hillary Rodham Clinton’s Campaign, Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation, Mentor LA and so on.
Charity I think you’re supposed to give in secrecy, because if you do you’re giving for the right reasons and not publicity. I’m sure people like Tom Hanks, Will Smith, and other A lists actors do donate money but they probably do it anonymously.
I say donate without making a fanfare. The Bible says when giving, one hand should not know what the other is doing.

Amy, am sorry if being homophobic offends you. I do not go around encouraging any one to be homophobic. If my children turn out to be homophobic, I would advice them not to turn it into an obsession or hate for that matter. I do not condone gayness and I would never force it down any one’s throat just to be politically correct. It is a free world, I am entilted to my feelings.
Your question of Tom being gay is moot, by the way, I love Rob Thomas too. I would never waste energy contemplating a moot issue. ‘What if the pope was a woman masquerading as a man for years?’ comeon why would I waste my time. Tom Cruise has for years stated unequivocally that he is not gay. Science has it that there is no gay genome so no one is born gay, they choose to be gay. So Tom Cruise cannot be inherently gay waiting to comeo out because he has not chosen to be gay. I repeat, no one is born gay, they choose to be. If Tom chose to be? He hasn’t so no need to for me to to waste energy addressing a moot issue.

Amy, that aside, do you condone what that drug queen did? Do you condone what gay people like Perez Hilton do? Labelling every decent looking male like Wentworth Miller, Jake Gyllenhaal, George Clooney etc gay and hounding them? If someone says they are not gay, it is their life and their choice to make. Do they hurt any one living their lives the way they want?
If there was proof that some people are born gay then may be I would empathise with their frustrations and actions but even then, every one is entitled to their private life. How come a man can be born a man but chooses to be a transvestite or a cross dresser? How come people do not attack them calling them all sorts of names for ‘denying’ their true gender? Do you get my point about gay people? Who gives them the right to ruin people’s lives and to declare who is in a closet and who isn’t? How come no one is attacking Jolie (sorry for bringing her up) or Anne Henche who have admitted to gayness but are now with male partners? Let me tell you why, because attacking these people would not hurt them at all, gay people just want to hurt and ruin as many lives as they can in the process. If TC admitted he was gay, then decided to marry a woman, do you think they would leave him alone? No, because his life will not be as miserable as they want it to be. Look at George Michael, he came ‘out of the closet’ has his life been the best since? I will not apologise for being homophobic. I don’t know of any nice gay people who are not bitter and jaded and their sole goal in life is to see as many people unhappy as possible. Look at Lib here….

I totally agree Jane. Some make the excuse that they are raising awareness. How come Bono and Geldof can raise awareness without us knowing everyt time they make a donation? Ricky Martin is always making contributions to numerous causes but it is when you look for his contributions that you know how much he is giving. This culture of donating 100,000 and the publicist runs to people magazine to announce is rather new and is in such bad taste. Even Oprah who likes showing off at least tries not to advertise whenever she makes a donation because am sure she donates to more than that school of her in SA. Besides have you noticed that these stars do it when their movies are being released? How cheap is that? I have not mentioned any names so please unless you know any guilty party, spare me your rants.

what would you do if one of your children turns out to be gay, or, by your reasoning that a person chooses their sexual orientation, decides to be gay?
would you love them any less? would you shut them out of your life?
i know of plenty of heterosexual people who are bitter, jaded and delight in making others unhappy…those people are everywhere regardless of their sexual orientation, do you not agree?

I saw the program on telly the other day but I haven’t managed to watch the one the Scientology church did. I didn’t know weather to laugh or be cry when I saw a reporter like John Sweeney loses his temper like that. The whole program was nothing new for me its everything I read about the church a bit scary but it was interesting to hear what the Scientologist like Tony (not sure if that is his name) respond to been called a cult and he said some of the things that they are accused of doing has been abandoned.
Anyway I’m not interested in the religion even though I know someone who is personally I do hope people do their own research before joining them

Miap, my computer failed to down load the video but I have watched one on youtube and I could not hold back laughter. Was it supposed to be a commedy? I don’t know which clips are scintologist and which clips are not but I also watched the one with the editor of Panorama. Sweeny was the wrong person to send to that program. I know scientologists are trained to stay calm like some one said but Sweeny should have walked away at the very least. Then he talks about being a British subject and not an American citizen, what a joke, does he think being a Brit makes him better than Americans? At least here in the US we have more freedoms and one of them is the freedom to worship whatever we choose. There are also courts and a good police system, any one who has legitmate quarrels with scientology is free to go there for help. Sue them instead of making bigot remarks which will endanger even innocent members of the church who were lured into it.
