  She looks about 45 years old in that picture. Tiredness, weight loss and the short hair add about 15 years to her appearance. The worst part about Katie is not the fact she isn’t as cute anymore, it’s the fact that she isn’t as fun. In every interview for the last year she has come across as fake and snobby. Tom is a fake, but he can at least pull off being sincere. She’s lost her appeal.

  Did you have a chance to see that interview on 20/20? At first, I was just observing becaues I had already seen the tape on the internet. When you sometimes think you’ve seen it all, WHAM!! They show a clip of Tom Cruise at the ridiculous Scientology awards show with this ridiculous and looking medallion around his neck. I just busted out laughing!! They should have just gone to Flavor Flav and borrowed that big old clock he wears around his neck and stuck a picture of LRH in it and threw it around Tom’s neck. Just awful!!!

  lemon227: No, I didn’t get to see the interview last night -forgot due to watching the first season of MI-5 on DVD! Toledo fan mentioned yesterday that they were airing it last night, os this a.m. I checked the 20/20 website and read all that happened. Pretty big, huh, being on 20/20!

  Vianne: I think everyone is commenting on it because of what a big week it has been for both of them. First, Morton’s book, then the videos, the big PR blitz for Suri and Katie, and then KH’s flop in the theaters for her big come back since hooking up with Cruise.

  Do you think people are avoiding the movie because of a bad script or because of Katie/Scientology?

  I think probably both- to me, the movie just didn’t look very good from the clips that were shown -even with the Queen and Diane K. in it, and then you have Katie- wife of this wacko, Tom, flaunting his weath and whoring her own little girl day and night for publicity… I think we were right on on how the rest of the people felt: distaste. Nothing about them as a couple seems real. They are always acting a part.

  Why Katie Can’t Handle THE VIEW

  Katie Holmes has appeared on Live with Regis and Kelly, Good Morning America and The Late Show with David Letterman (above) during her Mad Money promotional blitz over the past two days, but there is one place she won’t be showing up — The View. Katie was scheduled to pre-tape a segment with her Mad Money co-star Diane Keaton this afternoon but sources tell PageSix.com that Katie pulled out at the last minute and has left the staff scrambling for a replacement guest. While there was reportedly no reason given for her last-minute bailing, there are a few juicy possibilities!

  The first and most plausible reason is that The View’s coffee klatch refused to restrict their questions to the softballs other hosts have been lobbing at Katie all week. According to The New York Post’s Page Six, ABC suits were furious after Diane Sawyer refused to ask any hard-hitting questions when Katie appeared on GMA yesterday, especially regarding the rumors that her daughter Suri was fathered by late Scientologist founder L. Ron Hubbard.

  Ditto with David Letterman, who actually found himself on the receiving end of the questions when Katie hit his stage last night. Every time Dave asked her about anything, she answered politely (albeit vaguely) and then started quizzing him. For example, when asked how she spent her holidays, Katie said the family had a “big celebration in Colorado” before turning the tables and asking Dave, “how about your holidays? Do you cook?”

  The second possibility as to why Katie pulled the plug could be that she was fearful talk would quickly turn to Andrew Morton’s sensational new biography of her husband, Tom Cruise, that hits stores today. The day of its release would have been the prime time to get Katie to talk about the trashy tome.

  Thirdly, and once again regarding her husband, Katie might have been wary of Tom’s Scientology recruitment video becoming the talk of the View table. In the recently released clip, Tom says: “It’s a privilege to call yourself a Scientologist, and it’s something that you have to earn because a Scientologist has the ability to create new and better realities and improve conditions.” He goes on to say that Scientologists are the authorities on a wide number of topics and the only people who can truly help the masses.

  Or maybe Katie is simply under the weather or took a mental health day — even celebrities need those. After all, traipsing all over the globe with your gorgeous husband and adorable child in a private jet can be quite taxing!

  A rep for The View said, “we don’t discuss the bookings,” while Katie’s rep didn’t return calls.

  2. A leaked YOUTUBE video that possibly only Scientology converts were suppose to view depicting a narissistic, arrogant, Tom Cruise offering no scientific evidence of what he was offering only repeating “we are the authorities.”
  This video CEMEMTED Tom Cruise’s career to the bottom of the ocean.

  3. Andrew Morton’s book revealing a lot of things about Cruise, Katie, and Scientology. And a lot of Morton’s book on Diana came out to be true and so this now gives this author a lot of credit.

  4. Another video of Cruise trying to take credit for the firemans detoxification, etc.

  5. And yes Katie Holmes trying to promote Mad Money as if she were the main star when she is a bit player in this money.

  I read the Morton book and will write about it later. It is well written. I read it because I like to read biographies and autobiographies and with all of this controvery going around I was curious. More than ever I believe Tom Cruise is completely “off course” and is too egotistic to every admit this cult is dangerous and false. The said thing her is Suri. I don’t feel sorry for Katie in the regard that she was young and innocent. She wasn’t. The one I feel for are Suri, Isabella, and Connor. I also don’t particualry care of Nicole Kidman either. She was as ambitious as Katie and she knew what she was signing up for although I think Katie being wife no. 3 has gone further than Nicole. I write why later.

  Here is what i have noticed: KH has never discussed Scientology or that she has even converted. Only Cruise has addressed this issue. I wonder why since everything is so ‘amazing’ and ‘magical’. Wouldn’t that be because of Scientology?

  They are only projecting that the movie will $6-$7 million this weekend. Someone is trying to say that this is a success for Hollywood because they earned their money back.
  Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t that pennies in the film industry, even if that is ‘earning back the production costs’? I think Jolie would be fired if she only brought in $6-$7 in opening weekend.

  Vianne: I too think it was a combo of both, but mostly people are avoiding the ‘Scientology Wet Nurse.’ That is what they are calling Holmes here.

  I read from another post here, a supposedly positive review, that Holmes is the only one who should play Britney Spears in Spears’ bio film.

  What blows my mind is that Cruise pawned his adopted onto his sister for the last seven months because of remodeling. I mean I guess you have to do that when you can’t afford to keep the family together in a hotel. They are just so dang expensive, especially on a limited income.
  It is shame Connor’s new mommy couldn’t celebrate his birthday with them. I mean he does love her more than Nicole, right?

  Battlemama — I noticed the same thing about Katie never being asked or voluntarily talking about how wonderful her life is now that she has embraced Scientology. I’m really surprised no one has asked her about it or that the “church” is not mandating that she volunteer info about the benefits of her conversion. Very weird.

  I just hate that hairstyle on her. Her whole makeover has been a stumbling, bumbling mess. That summer in France with her chasing after Suri on that rocky beach wearing those super expensive high heels was what made me laugh. The rarified air has turned her into such a joke. She reminds me at times, especially with this hairdo of a super thin, super chic Valerie Bertinelli. Sorry Valerie - at least you have a personality!
