Katie Gets Dressed Up and Suri Plays Hide and Seek

Suri Cruise and Katie Holmes were seen walking around Boston on Saturday, November 7th. It looks like Suri was giving Katie a little fit, like all toddlers do and was also playing a little hide and seek. I am thinking Suri was hiding from those pesky paparazzi!
The next night (November 8th), Katie was seen going to dinner at Cobblestone restaurant in the Tribeca in New York City. She looks very pretty in her strapless Lanvin back dress and casual up-do. Katie arrived in the Big Apple via helicopter from Boston, where hubby Tom Cruise is filming “Knight & Day”.
Just Jared has a cute story from one restaurant goer who told Katie she should eat at her house. When Katie found out the woman lived in College Station, she replied with “Gig ‘Em Aggies!”, which is the hand signal of Texas A&M. Cute!

She went to the gala for the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society too where she hung out with Jude Law and Rob Ashford (broadway choreographer).

What? No time for make up and hair salon?
I don’t get it. In the first picture everyone in the background is wearing winter clothing and there’s Suri in a sleeveless dress. Even Tom’s sister is wearing a winter coat!! I know I’ve said this a million times and stuff like this is probably why I’m in perpetual moderation (God forgive me….I just don’t toe the line like everyone else!), but I just don’t understand WHY Suri is always underdressed. Enough with that she’s a “strong child” and challenging!! Every kid is challenging. My 3 were no walk in the park either!! Put a coat on that kid Katie. It’s cold in Boston. Believe me, if she screams, she’ll get over it!! Be a parent!!
As far as her dress is concerned, it’s very pretty but a little makeup and a hair-do would really help. Earrings might be nice too.
CRose: I do not toe the line either, I am very vocal and opinionated when it comes to celebrities ( a fun diversion for me!!). Katie and Tom are my top two stars to comment on…actually, my only two!! I always visit fan sites but have never blogged on them about other stars, with KH and TC I feel compelled for some odd reason! I know that what intrigued me about her over other celebrities is her decision to marry a man who actively practices such an odd “religion”. This did it for me, so now I am hooked. Plus, the fact that she was a “nobody” from OH who caught the eye of such a famous A-lister who was married twice before and much older. I find the whole story of the two of them FASCINATING!!! I also think her face and body are stunning and I am always shocked as to why she would consistently down play her appearance. I find their lives so strange yet interesting at the same time! A real case study for any budding psychologist!
i’m with charlotte rose. My children were to a man nudists. At every opportunity they would rip off all their clothes and go naked… even if we watched them like hawks they would sneakily remove their undies or some such thing and then flash the unsuspecting public. Sooooo my points are 1) VERY glad i’m not a high profile mother with paparazzi following me and 2) i understand how passionately some children resist clothing.
BUT i ignored the theatrics and so forth and put warm clothing on them. They screamed. They kicked. They cried. They bit (my arms were covered in bite marks on one particularly bad day). And then? They wore their damn coats.
That red dress is from Katies fashion line I think, its dreadful, she wore the cream version some time ago. I have never seen anything more shapeless and unflattering in all my life. The only thing good about it is the colour , which makes you realise how lovely she looks in colours , other than grey, white and dark blue.
I’m going to say something harsh now, she doesn’t deserve to have a clothing line. Tom is making all her dreams a reality, whether she deserves them or not . Before Tom the studios must have kept her on track, she always looked good, now she doesn’t need anyone, she has him , so now anything goes.
I will always think that she can be beyond spectacular, but I don’t think its going to happen, Katie doesn’t have any idea what suits her , let alone other women!
I agree. Katie could look spectacular if she wanted. she has such a beautiful face…amazing bone structure (just like Kate Moss) and also beautiful hair. IMO she’s Top 5 most beautiful women in Hollywood at the moment. she needs a better stylist for important events or for when she is not dressing casual.
i know many people don’t like it, but i actually quite like her casual style…i loooove the jeans (i think they are called boyfriend jeans, right?). so yeah, she could look spectacular if she really wanted. (and yeah that red dress is kinda blah…especially the top part looks awful)
I can only judge Katie’s fashion line on the excellent write up it received in Vogue’s September issue and the reports from fashion journalists who actually attended the launch.
If many of the highly regarded fashion designers or any fashion designer for that matter were judged on what they wear or how they choose to wear it then many of us would say that they shouldn’t be designing anything either!

The difference between fashion designers and Katie, is that most designers do their work behind the scenes, and are very rarely seen. Katie is in the public arena all the time because she is an actress, so she is judged.
Last year it was the 70s look and then that terrible 80s ensemble she wore to the dinner with the president, now its the grunge look.
Katie is a beautiful young woman, and sometimes I like her grungy look and other times not so much, she is all over the place with clothes. And I’ll be honest I saw a different set of pics with the red dress and they were nice, not the dress but the whole look, I didn’t find it unattractive. Her hair , sunglasses jacket were very cute.

I agree that Katie is in the public eye more than most but many of the high profile designers are as well.
For me fashion has never been a static industry where things remain the same, nor should it be. Who thought for example that shoulder pads would make a return, the grunge look would be embraced or street style would find it’s place beside Haute Couture but those things have happened.
You say Katie is all over the place with clothes but the fashion industry is as well.
What was old is new again, now it’s the styles from the 1800’s.

If it’s OK, I’m going to judge Katie’s designs for myself despite what the fashion journalists say, OK?
You know Jenna I’m the same, I find them intriguing, actually I find her very intriguing. My husband and sons think I’m loopy, sometimes they sit over my shoulder when I type things( Ishoo them away). I honestly think she has something, her clothes , her hair , you know she can deliver the goods, but doesn’t always, then she can surprise you by looking totally so great, she’s not afraid to try things , for good or bad , you always have an opinion about her , she doesn’t talk much , but you can’t help but realise that maybe there is more to her that meets the eye, so she becomes intriguing.
I haven’t seen the Holmes & Yang fashion line, so I can’t judge it.
Of the three pieces she wore:
The blue dress at the Tropic Thunder premiere……..I liked.
The Genie style pants………..So, so. I didn’t like the elasticized hem.
The outfit worn to the White House Correspondent’s Dinner……..I liked the skirt and the top but not the jacket very much. The fabric looked exquisite though.
Suri has worn some dresses that were from Holmes&Yang and those I find very girlie and cute.
The write ups I read were very complimentary so I look forward to seeing the line.
Hey, no one comments about the other people in the pics…I think the other woman is Auntie Tom Cruise… Tom’s sister. Spitting image of Tom… Just cut the hair short and you’ve got Tom Cruise… Nice to see her with family, but she doesn’t seem that chummy with her??
whatever katie did or whatever place katie came to recently was good for her. she is looking very good lately and happy
