I think there was a time when some people would have been afraid to make this kind of spoof of Tom Cruise. I mean South Park did it and they were threatened with a law suit. However, in my opinion for Jerry O’Connoll to spoof Tom Cruise like this (which I think is funny) there is almost like a public “its okay” to now publicly make fun of Tom Cruise.
I remember when Michael Jackson was so well respected after he won all those Grammies and everyone was playing his records Billie Jean, Beat It, etc. It seemed like he could do not wrong. I actually went to one of his concerts and in a live concert he was AMAZING, TALENTED, etc., I knew I was witnessing a special talent. Fast forward a few years and Michael is Wacko Macko or considered by many to be a pedifile and after so many lawsuits and his once huge playground NeverLand was recently sold due to financial problems in Michael’s world. At one time, this would have seemed impossible for him but it happened.
I think the same thing will happen to Tom Cruise. The private planes, expensive hotels, security time, staffing his 3-4 homes, etc. all of these things cost money and one can afford this lifestlye when one continsouly brings in a steady large income but this tide has turned for Cruise.
The damage has been done. The problem with him is that image is a big thing in the entertainment business and I think people think he’s over the top.
At least when you are a recording stary people like your music and might still buy your records but in Tom’s case he’s in the movie business and when the public stops go to see your movies you better start thinking about doing something else.

Hello everyone,
I am new to this site and live in the UK. It isn’t that common for TC or KH to make the news over here although the scientology video leaked the other day was mentioned briefly on the news. BUT most people I know in the UK genuinely have no idea who KH is or have ever seen Dawson’s creek etc.
I would like to take this opportunity to show you a clip from a comedy programme we have in the UK which is written by and performed by women. This sketch really sums up how we in the uk (and I suspect many more people) regard TC as a power mad nutcase who has lost the plot. I saw this video last night on People.com and I found it to be hilariously funny. I laughed quite a lot over it. I do want to question those here though who have said that People is in TC’s pocket and that they only print and say favorable things about TC and KH. If this were so then why did I find this video on their website last night? Just some food for thought. Anyway…this video is definitely worth watching for some laughs.

I just came across a story online written by Mark Morford who is a columnist with SF Gate. In it he speaks about TC and his connection with Scientology. It has a link there to a story by Anderson Cooper that was apparantly aired a few days ago (not sure when) but the info there indicates that LRH had a son who was gay and committed suicide in 1976. There more I read about Scientology, the more worried I get. It is just really bizarre stuff.

I agree that he will have to curb his and Katie’s spending. Yes, theorectically he could just live off the interest if he was willing to live just a little less lavishly. This man, however, has a lot of overhead. Heck, he spends a million dollars a year just on jet fuel for his planes. Also, we don’t know what he’s paying out to other family members who mostly seem to dwell with him. If bankruptcy could come into play with Michael Jackson, Tom Cruise isn’t exempt either. Pretty soon they’re going to get to the point where more money is coming out rather than coming in because these two seem to LOVE to shop. He could possibly shop himself into the poorhouse.

I am about to finish Morton’s book. Just curious, do you think Katie is brave enough to read it? If she does, she would probably shrug it off a lies anyway. If she did read it, she would find that Tom was just looking for any female that would go along with Scientology. Nicole wouldn’t…neither Penelope or Sofia. In fact, Tom was grooming Sofia for marriage just a couple of weeks before he and Katie got together. Katie should have done her homework….I guess Tom “being the biggest movie star in the world” was enough to snag Katie. If I were in her shoes now and read the book, I’d feel like a total idiot and be TERRIFIED!!! I hope her family reads the book to see what kind of control freak he is.

Okay, my husband is home sick today, and he comes into our PC room to see what the hell I’m laughing about so loudly. I have to explain the whole TC COS thing to him…then I show him the TC video. Then I show him the Jerry O’Connoll video. Needless to say, TC has one less fan in the world! LOL! The Jerry O’Connell video is a riot. I’m so glad people are starting to see TC for who he really is. I can’t stand him!!!!! The Internet is abuzz and I’m laughing my arse off!!! I predict TC will go into hiding…or have a face-off with a major network…any other predictions???

The seasons have clicked and the tide has changed for Cruise. Sorry, but those are the facts. Just like there was time when things changed for Michael Jackson who I think at one point was the biggest entertainer in the world, everyone knew who he was, I think times have changed from Cruise. What affects him will affect the COS. Even Travolta doesn’t want to come out swinging too hard for Cruise because the backlash will also affect him.

LEO: I’m a fast reader and I really don’t think it was written as a salicious novel. I think its kind of an informative book. It doesn’t slam him it kind of informs you and how he possibly became a Scientologist and how he was really looking for a woman to occupy the position of his wife. A few weeks before he became engaged with Katie he was pursuing Sofia Vergara who decided she did not want to be caught. I remember seeing pictures of them photographed and then suddenly he was dating Katie. And ladies you know that saying “he chased me until I caught him.” Sofia did not want to be involved with him after she realized the price was too high. She would have to give up to be involved with him and she also has a son who’s being raised as a Catholic.

I honestly believe these people could careless what we think about them, unless than can sue and make money over it.
Funny, Jackson’s downfall began with him suing people over what they said (i.e. the allegations). This is just a larger scale of suing and humiliation.
My husband did not see the big deal of these Scientology tapes being leaked to the media. He said “Well, that is what he believes.”
My only response is then why is he suing to hide it? He is trying to deny this cult in public.
JLo had a celeb baby shower in New York last weekend. Noticeably absent: Katie Holmes. From what I understand, she wasn’t even invited. I thought they were all BFF’s. Also, notice the Beckhams and Smith’s aren’t hanging out with them any more…at least not in public.
This has got to cut Katie that she married for all this popularity, A-list friends, great new movie roles, and to basically to become another Nicole Kidman; and now she is brunt of public ridicule, her movies are doing worse, and using her Scientology PR baby just to get photographed.
She will eventually have to address Scientology and her beliefs in the media.

First, that girl is going to have some serious back issues with the way she hunches over as she walks. She is not fashion model material with that hunch either.
Second, is anyone even KH’s size in her family? Nice to share cast-offs, but would they honestly fit a normal person who eats.
Third, If I were a family member, I would feel really degraded and not good enough to have to be ‘dressed’ to hang out with my sister/daughter.
Fourth, you can tell they are trying to hide from the press. I guess Katie can’t face the truth about her bomb.

Ok, now here comes the conspiracy theory expert. I’m am speculating that something definatley smells rotten in Denmark, right? The investigators for Heath Ledger’s death indicated that his aprt. was “too cleaned-up” and it looks like “someone covered up their tracks.” WHy did the messuse call Mary-Kate Olsen before calling 911? Well, maybe Mary-Kate was supplying drugs to Heath and her name may have been on some of those drugs. Maybe it goes deeper than that.

Given his history, yes, I would say there is a drug issue here. But, I am thinking this is more like Anna Nicole Smith who o.d. while she was sick. Her place was “cleaned-up” too.

Regarding Anna -Nicole, I think that Sterns had a hand in her death and in her son’s death. He was claiming that the baby was his, until the DNA test indicated that he wasn’t. I think he wanted to hang onto the kid for money. Greed is one of the 7 deadly sins.

I assume you are speaking to me, Carla,even though you did not address me directly. I have no idea whether we are from the same generation since I don’t know how old you are. I was born in the late ’60’s so I will leave it to you to tell me whether or not we are from different generations. I will clarify my statement from 10:01….it is a safe assumption that Heath Ledger’s family and friends are grieving right now…seriously grieving. Anyone who has ever lost a loved one knows how difficult it is to go through. Most of us, though, do not have to go through listening to or reading assumptions about how they died. Just because he was found with prescriptions in his home does not mean he died because of taking too many….or if he did it does not mean he committed suicide. When I say I think it is vulgar I only mean that I feel it is unfair to him and his family to be speculating about the hows and whys. It serves no purpose whatsoever and IMO anything that can further hurt grieving parents and other family and friends is vulgar and indecent. You don’t have to agree with that opinion nor does anyone else. And no, for the record, I am not touchy…I just believe in saying what I think and how I feel.

Carla, I understand your point but I must say that I personally feel that some lines must be drawn and that there are times when saying what you think and feel is not okay. I think that as humans we should be required to censor our thoughts if it is possible they may cause extreme stress or pain for others during a particulary difficult time. And I can think of no more difficult time than having just lost a loved one. Being opinionated is fine and saying provocative things can certainly have their place…but I just think that a little sensitivity is in order right now. Perhaps it might be sensible as well as prudent to wait until the reports come back that would indicate his cause of death?

Ok, so when his body was found the first time, he was alive snoring, they called mary-Kate Olsen twice for instructions, and then called 911 much later and he was in a coma. He’s declared dead, but no one called his parents. Talk about insensitivity! I heard that the autopsy report was inconclusive, regarding any medication being in his body. Pill bottles that were found near his body were full, indicating that none were taken. Weird shite, if you ask me.

I, too, find it a little strange that the reports indicate that 911 wasn’t called immediately. Hopefully that will turn out to be untrue because why would any reasonable person call anyone other than the authorities first?

I’m not going to join in on the conversation here about heath.
I’m responding to the person that posted that link to the tc interview from 2006…the article said he “skipped” his graduation in 1980…if he was born july 1962, that means he would have been 17 if he graduated. that doesn’t make sense. I mean I was 17 when I graduated, but I was put into school early because my birthday is in the late fall.
Can any of you mothers chim in here….this isn’t adding up to me somehow

Libra, I know that each state has different rules about when a child can start kindergarten and that those rules tend to change over the years. I was 17 when I graduated and my birthday is at the end of August so I didn’t turn 18 until about 3 months after graduation. Where I live now kindergarteners must be 5 by June 1 of the year they wish to start school but that date has changed many times over the years…it used to be 5 by Sept 1 but educators thought that it made for really immature kindergarteners. It just depends on the state and the current theories.

I read that 2006 interview too, but what really caught my attention was “the very pregnant” katie.
I didn’t really check the date the interview was conducted, however, there’s a date there noting, I guess, the date it was published, and it is April.

Honestly, when I first heard about the engagement, I thought she was pregnant and she did get pregnant right away to keep ahold of TC and his money. He went through how girlfriends before her. A baby would certainly do that for Katie. So, yes, I saw her as money and fame grabbing then. I am sure she jumped feet first into bed with him on the first date.

This theory sounds really good, until you remember his past history with women; not one woman became pregnant with him, while they were with him, and that includes his two other wives and his two other girl friends. We all know about Nicole’s two misscarriages, but they don’t count because we really don’t know for sure who the daddy’s were. So, now we have this younger woman, Katie, who meets him, and according to this theory, jumps into bed with him, maybe the same night that she met him, and became pregnant by him? Geez, then how do you explain the fact that she is having trouble getting pregnant again, just like all his other women? No, Suri is from another sperm.

I agree. Regardless if Cruise is Suri’s biological daddy or not, he has publicly declared her his baby to world. And this baby isn’t going anywhere even if Katie does one day. A perfect example are Isabella and Connor. They were both adopted and when the lines were draw they stayed on Cruise’s side. The same thing will happen to Suri althought I don’t know that Cruise and Katie will stay together 10 years. This is a different season in Cruise’s life and it may in fact be Katie who decides to walk.
The Morton book makes an interesting comment how it was Katie pushing for a prenuptial agreement this way she would be guaranteed X amount of millions that she would need to fight Cruise in court for Suri if and when they got divorced. Which means if she’s getting 3 million per year it would be to her benefit to stay several years because it would become a dragged out fight in court and she would spend a lot in lawyer fees. But who knows because her father is a lawyer and she may might someone reasonable via him.
I just don’t see them staying together 10 years but anything can happen.

I think Katie was speaking as a young, idealistic girl. She’ll change her mind after a few years.
I think Nicole felt that way but changed her mind after her divorce. I think she was a very ambitious woman who had according to Morton’s book run off as a young girl with a man and then another man. She when she met Cruise she was living with someone. She didn’t tell him she was flying to Los Angeles to meet with Cruise. The rest is history. And so this is not the first time Cruise is involved with a woman that is seeing someone else or recently broken up in a relationship.
I think when Nicole married Keith Urban she felt this was now the real wedding only she was going into this marriage with millions of dollars to her name, an Academy Award, and several homes thanks to her marriage with Cruise.
I think Katie never thought she would meet or marry Cruise and that’s why she said what she did at a young age. I mean I remember 20 years ago (and I’m not old) thinking Al Pacino was so handsome and sexy looking. I never thought I would see him in person. I have seen him twice in person, both in theatre plays Hugie and Salome and afterwards to get his autograph. He was very nice and pleasant and kind of shy. However, as I stood about 2 feet away from him I was thinking “Michael Corelone, Scarface, Heat, etc.” here in front of me was this great, famous actor. Wow! Now imagine how Katie Holmes felt to see her teenage crush in person.
However, she couldn’t been completely blind to all the Scientology talk that was going around. I think she was lured in NOT by e-meters/audits but by designer clothes, mansions, glamorous parties, private planes, money, promises of a great career, Academy Award, etc.
Can you IMAGINE how powerful and important Katie must have felt when Cruise let her go to Paris with Suri for one day on his plane? She didn’t fly first class she had an entire plane to herself and Suri. Of course this was AFTER they were married but who knows what things he gave her or promised her before they got married. She in turn would have to sign several contracts regarding her children and religion.
And we all know, this is NOT gossip that merely a few week (five or six) he was after Sofia Vergara with the same passion and excitement he declared to Katie on Oprah only Sofia decided to take a pass. She was smart. I used to think she was a bimbo but no more. She was not as ambitious as I thought she was. I am sure her son played a major role in her decision to not go along with Tom Cruise.

I disagree. There was a hold up of the wedding plans for awhile, until katie and her daddy got their ducks in a row. Her daddy said that he and cruise came to a compromise where the pre-nup indicated that Katie and Suri would be well-taken care of, if they split. I interpret that to mean that katie would take HER child with her. Maybe he has declared to the world (among many other lies) that he is her father. But we really don’t know her real name. Maybe it’s Suri Holmes. Maybe the wedding was a big fake. We don’t know. The only reason why he kept the other kids is because they were adopted. They are legally, not biologically, both his and Nicole’s kids. During the divorce, she probably signed custody over to him, for a large sum of money.

Anyone with any substantial assets needs to protect those assets with a prenup. I believe that Cruise’s prenup benefiited him, but Katie pushed for a prenup that benefitted her. Her daddy added alot of clauses and addendums to the final contract. Suri is hers. I’ll bet that they will come up with some lame excuse as to why she can’t procreate anymore, and they will adopt, probably another boy. Then when they split, they will split the two kids. It’s all an act.

Regarding community property after the ten year mark: If you have a prenup, that usually indicates that anything that you had prior to coming into the marriage, is yours. Anything that you and your spouse obtain during the marriage is equally distributed. Katie will never get her hands on his billions and all his properties.

If I were living this nightmare and people were saying things that were untrue, I would come out with my guns blazing and demanding that people knock it off. Yes, i think Britney needs to take responsibility, but she doesn’t have anyone in the core of her life to help her. The only reason we found out Jamie Lynne is pregnant was because MOM sold the story to the press for a $1 million. Someone who genuinely cares would not do that. Brit’s mom also sided with K-Fed during the initial child custody hearings because she manipulate K-Fed better. I think if Brit had someone solid in the core of her life to turn to, she would not have gone so far off the deep-end. Also, her downfall was walking out of her marriage. Toledo- [she is actually from Sylvania- a small affluent suburb of Toledo] is a dreary, depressed, “blue-collar” city [Detroit is just 1 hr north] with decreasing population as people move out to find jobs or better jobs. it is known for industrial manufacturing, although these industries have declined considerably. the sun rarely shines in the winter and the incidence of s.a.d. is high. Peyton place like?- maybe. I know for single yuppies- it is “slim pickings”- all the singles know who each other are and who’s a good catch and who to avoid “like the plague” [someone’s brother for example..] people on the whole are nice, decent, and hard working.
KH always wanted to act and she always wanted to live in NYC and act on Broadway, she “loved new york city”. She had just moved to NYC when she was summoned by TC. Guess she can kiss those dreams goodbye!

It is very clear that the people who succumb to Scientology are clearly lost souls BEFORE they were ever introduced to Scientology, looking desperately for something to “free” them from their personal horrors. It really is truly sad. I feel very strongly that Katie’s family would never turn their backs on their daughter and granddaughter. I’m sure at this point they feel powerless. I know my parents were always there through the good and the bad, supporting us and “trying” to love the “losers” we brought home when we were young and stupid. I think Katie comes from good stock. She unfortunately obviously lacks self-confidence and self-esteem, looking outwardly for adoration. She’s paying an extremely high price. I can’t imagine the horror that poor girl is living through right now. Remember, there are 24 hours in a day, and we all must retire for the evening, put our heads down on the pillow, close our eyes, and rest. I know this sounds harsh but your religion, your beliefs (for most people) are your center core, they are so profound in your life, especially when these beliefs are introduced to you by your mother and father. Suri will probably think that the person that is trying to deprogram her is evil or crazy. All for what?
Why did Katie put Suri in this position to begin with? It was NOT for love. And the reason you can’t say it was love was because it is documented in People magazine, US, InTouch, all the rags photographed Cruise with Sonia Veraga that they were dating and he took her to the Celebrity Center. They gave her Scientology handouts. She then returned again with her mother who is a DEVOUT Catholic. They did NOT give the mother any Sceintology materials because she was NOT interested in receiving any. She knows what she believes in. About 2 weeks later, Sofia Vergara was suppose to meet with Cruise and go on a trip with him. Instead, she disappeared without telling him WHERE she went (in case she wants to hide there again). A few weeks later Tom was on Oprah declaring his passion for Katie Holmes. This was NOT love, he was acting (over acting) and Katie was also acting. They had both entered into an agreement. The problem is Suri didn’t enter into this agreement, she was born into this. I truly feel for this little girl. She has no idea what’s in store for her.
Being an American born Latina I must say it will be very hard (not impossible) to get a Latina to leave the Catholic or Protestant faith and become a Scientologist. Now, I know there are Latinos that are Scientologists because there was a minder who’s last name was Rodriguez who clearly was Hispanic and she was the person that was always with Katie in the beginning. But from my experience with Latinos, it is a VERY family orientated, religous group. That’s why Sofia Vergara ran for the hills.

Your faith or religion is the center of your core. And when mom and dad introduce to you to your faith and are living by their lives by that faith, it must be terrifying to later have one of those parents tell you that it was all a lie, something that is not true. What then do you believe in? This is going to be very bad for Suri. But why did her ridiculous mother even subject her to this cult? This is what boggles my mind.

Has anyone seen Isabella or Connor with Suri recently? The last time I saw any pictures of the three of these kids together were the Vanity Fair and wedding pictures. I wonder if they even like Suri or resent her for dethroning them. I mean this little girl has only been alive 2 years and ever since June 2007 I have yet to see them all go to an event together. They are like two separate families. They don’t even live in the same house. Yeah, we have all heard about the remodeling, etc., but even in the recent picture of Connor, it was only him and Cruise.
