Gossip Cop Takes On In Touch Rumors About Tom and Katie

Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and their daughter Suri Cruise are gracing the cover of yet another tabloid magazine. This time it’s In Touch, where the headline reads “The Fight for Suri”. You can see the cover here.
What is the magazine claiming this time? That Tom and Katie are fighting over Suri’s education. They are coming up on their third wedding anniversary (YAY!) and the magazine apparently can’t stand that they are still together and (gasp!) happy!
The magazine article states that Katie has grown disenchanted with Scientology and that she wants Suri to go to a Catholic school, while Tom wants her educated in the principles of Scientology.
A rep for Tom told Gossip Cop that the magazine headline is “utterly false and ridiculous”.
Okay, so let’s say for one moment that maybe they are disagreeing with Suri’s education. What business is it of ours? Oh wait! It’s not!
Gossip Cop goes on to point out their favorite part of the article, where it says “While the pair has made a point of going out together in public – most recently they were spotted jogging through Boston in what another confidante describes as a ‘planned photo op’ – the tension between them in private is commonplace.”
LOL! In Touch….you are SO funny and digging deep for a story.
Gossip Cop is also hearing from a source close to Katie that the couple may be taking legal action against the magazine. I seriously hope they do. These stories are getting old and ridiculous and are pulling a young child into it. These tabs are the lowest of low in my opinion.

Why should it matter to us whether this story is true or not. Their relationship doesn’t impact us in any way and so whether these claims are true or not is their business. Just because people like TomKat doesn’t mean it can’t be true. I am not saying it is true but look at the number of mariages Tom has been through. Who was the common denominator in all those marriages? Tom. Who is Katie married to? Again I am not saying these allegations by the magazine are true however just because we may like the couple doesn’t mean their lives are going to be perfect. I liked Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston and they divorced. I like Reese and Ryan and they divorced. Divorce is a fact of life… especially in Hollywood.
I hope they do something too because saying nothing has done nothing to stop them.
Gossip Cop? Seems like we’ve just traded negative gossip for positive gossip that’s more palatable to us fans.
Bellegirl is right. Divorce is a fact of life everywhere and especially in Hollywood. And with Tom….well….it really is a fact of life for him. I wish Tom and Katie the best, but IF they do separate, no gossip magazine or Gossip Cop will know anything until they make an announcement which is exactly what happened when Tom divorced Nicole Kidman. It was a shock to everyone. Again, I wish them the best and I hope they make it forever, but for various reasons I don’t think they will. Sorry….that’s just my opinion. 
I’m also going to make a bold prediction here: Tom and Katie will NOT sue In Touch. Believe me, it’s not going to happen. They may issue a statement that the mag is lying, but they WILL NOT SUE. Nor will they sue the Star which I hear has a similar story. Winning is next to impossible.
I wrote years ago that I suspect thier marriage will EVENTUALLY end in dissolution. Whether that termination occurs in one year or in ten I cannot speculate, but I firmly feel it WILL end in divorce. I like these two together b/c Katie dreamed of marrying Tom, but will they last until death, no, I do not believe so. TC appears to me to be very challenging to live with, perhaps even demanding, and definitely high strung. Katie with her laid back attitude may be able to deal with his personality for a long while, but eventually she may grow weary and as Suri and possibly other children they have are raised, I see Katie and Tom separating. Constant travel as CRose mentioned cannot be healthy for their marriage either or for their child(ren). Just my thoughts. If they do divorce I will lose interest in this website b/c I like teh pics of them all together as a family

I try to not to speculate, but I do find it interesting that they’re not having more kids. You’d think Katie would want to give Suri a sibling her age since she’s so isolated.
I think the only way any of these hollywood marriages work, if they pack it in and move out of that town and remain low profiled. I do not think either one of them want that…
But from a fan perspective, I would love to see another Suri….could they get that lucky twice? she is too cute.
I agree with CRose’s comment about them not suing the magazines. If every star sued magazines for slander and gossip we would have no magazines left to read. The gossip and slander comes with their popularity.
Hmm I tend to think that these gossip rags usually have some bit of truth to them. Look at the Nat. Enq stories that John Edwards had a love child and a mistress for what 2 years before the story actually broke on the news?? I do believe that Tom is extremely controlling of those around him. His mother was a devout Catholic who left the church and joined the COS. She had a life in Florida and a husband that she seemed happy enough until one day she just left and next thing she is in the COS and living with Tom. When Tom is done with something or someone he doesn’t seem to look back..he just moves on. I don’t think their marriage will last and I would like to see Katie smiling and happy and laughing and enjoying friends like she seemed to for that week she and her mom and Suri were in L A. I am glad she is in NYC–she loves it there and I think it is a bit of relief that Tom is going to be going around the world filming at the moment. Perhaps we will see pictures of her out with fellow cast members, friends visiting, her folks close by…I don’t know how long their marriage/relationship will last, but if he is smart he will back off and give her space and let her decide some of the things she wants to do or where she wants to go.
Who cares? I have found that with any newspaper, magazine, etc they are about 20% fact and 80% false. (Over the years having actually been in earthquakes, riots and fires in LA and the news blew the scene up ten-fold; anything for a story!) And, who cares anyhow? Celebrities have a right to live their lives however they want; their religion, how they raise their child, etc is their own business, not anyone else’s. I say to anyone who actually reads all the gossip, etc: Get a life. Looking at the pictures and seeing beautiful Suri and Tom and Kate (that lovely couple) now that’s fun! Admire the pictures and let them live their lives!
PS. Who says Tom’s not giving Kate space and letting her make her own decisions? The tabloids? Magazines? Think about it. Speak to Kate before you come to any conclusions.
I’ve always been a fan of her and Joshua Jackson (Pacey on Dawson’s Creek). Dawson’s Creek is in reruns right now and the current episodes are the ones where Joey and Pacey begin to realize they have feelings for each other.

I’m confused guessagain! Who isn’t letting Tom and Katie live their lives or practice their beliefs? I haven’t heard anything about crowds outside their door not letting them go to the Scie. centers or police preventing them from going to their church or anything. Just like all of us in this country, The Cruise’s have the right to practice any belief they choose. Tom also has the right to speak freely about his beliefs. However, all that is a double edge sword. If he can speak freely, so can those who are critical of his belief system. That’s the way it works in this country!
Also, I don’t think you’re going to have much luck stopping people from reading gossip. It’s big business all over the world. Lot’s of people read it and I imagine most of them do have lives. I think people will always wonder what part of the story is 20% truth.

I think Tom gives Katie heaps of space to pursue her career. He’s been there done that, she hasn’t, and even though a lot of seperations are not too good, neither is not fullfiling her dreams and ambitions either, thats a danger in itself, because she will become unhappy and resentful.
I try so hard to keep reminding myself that I don’t really know these people, but I do get influenced a bit about what is written about Tom, and that makes me think that maybe they are not going to make it, that maybe one day Katie might wise up a bit , and maybe she will walk
There are things that I have read about Tom, that don’t sit too well with me, at all actually, and I do try to be fair, but the more that comes out , really I’m finding it hard sometimes to look at him objectively.
When I read about lists and girlfriend auditioning, talking to door nobs and the rest, I find him a bit of a worry.
