Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes

Good Quote from Will Smith

by Julie on March 23rd, 2008

I just think that Will Smith is one of the most level-headed celebrities I know. I wanted to share this quote with you that I thought was just great.

Smith, a good buddy of Scientology poster boy Tom Cruise, says he is not a church member. “You don’t have to be Jewish to be a friend of Steven Spielberg. You don’t have to be a Muslim to be a friend of Muhammad Ali. And you don’t have to be a Scientologist to be a friend of Tom Cruise,” Smith tells us. “I am a Christian. I am a student of all religions. And I respect all people and all paths.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself. Thank you Will Smith. :)

Please…that is a very ignorant statement lined with a spec of validity, but not in the case in point.

ws is friends with tc. their children worship together. Seems Will and jada’s lives are starting to slow down so they too can have a lot more free time to promote his lifestyle choices just like tc is doing.
    You GO will!

    THANK YOU!

All the religious bullying is absolutely disgusting. Why is his religion so much more unbelievable than anyone else’s? I could not care less what he does so long as he’s not killing people and makes good movies.

Well said Will! But then again those with religious hatred are not always level headed people you can rationalise with.

I hear what Will is saying, but honestly Will should worry about Will more. I think Tom can handle himself. And yes it appears Tom has lots of friends from different dominations, but I am sure having religioon “in common” can be a help too in certain friendships.

I heart you Will. Zoe, Will was asked because of his friendship with Tom so I guess it was inevitable he talked about him. He does make a good point though.

Get real, people, Scientology is a cult. This is not the opinion of a bunch of “haters,” it is the well-informed opinion of many courts and countries, like France and Australia.

A lot of the previous posters seemed genuinely concerned that Katie and Suri were being hurt by this cult, they weren’t attacking Katie and Suri.

Well said midwestern girl. I will admit sometimes things did get carried away but everyone was genuinly concerned mainly for little suri as she has no say in the life her parents have planned for her. Scientology is a cult not a religion.

Fair enough Anne. I have never liked Will Smith, so I am not objective.
I think his son is adorable however.

It sounds like some serious back-peddaling after negative press! As stated earlier, scientology is viewed by a majority as a cult. To be associated with it and seem to agree with it could only hurt Will Smith - thus the damage control statement.

    Julie,
You deleted my comment which was completely on topic. Will Smith said that he respects people of all paths, or religions, yet anyone who is either a fan or non-fan of TC knows that he has a problem with people who are not of his “religion.”

  • tyler
    Mar 25, 2008 at 8:59 pm

To clarify my earlier statement. I didn’t mean to say that TC hates other people who are not Scientologists. I don’t believe that.

So what were you saying tyler?? Im not sure i understand. What did you mean by “seeing sp’s being gone from this earth?”

Even though your comment was removed (its about time julie started to review comments made by tc lovers) its a bit hypocritcal to say things like that when tc fans are supposed to be spreading the peace. (so you say anyway)

Whatever scientology is, cult or religion, I doubt whether running around the internet attacking Tom Cruise and his family will make it go away.

Candice, I know there are those who are genuinely concerned for Katie and Suri but most of those who posted here abused both Katie and Suri all the time. I am sorry but I don’t see how calling Katie a robot or a stepford wife or building conspiracy theories about Suri’s paternity is concern for them.

Lauren, some were attacking and some were having an opinion about a potentially very dangerous cult/religion. I didnt know anything about scientology when i first started visiting this sight but i have googled and researched it and in my own opinion find it to be a sick and twisted cult. I am concerned for ANYONE involved in ANY cult of ANY kind not just little suri or katie. While i didnt agree with most of what was said on this site i did read it with interest, think about it and then made my own opinion and commented on that. That was the reason i came here. Something isnt quiet right with the cruises. There are to many things that dont add up but having said that, you are right there was to many nasty things said about katie and suri to which i responded and debated about. Like the cruises or not we should all be allowed to discuss what we think of them freely (but respectfully). Im actually tired of reading about how everyone is “happy the rules have changed”, “leave if your not a tomkat fan” and “we are so happy we can come on here and comment now the haters have gone.” Are you all so weak that you allowed differences in opinions to stop you from doing something that you obviously wanted to do in the first place?? I was called names and had many arguments but i didnt let that stop me from saying what i wanted to say!! If you were true fans you would of stood up for yourselves and the cruises. Some of the things said from the “lovers” on this site are just as bad as the “haters” which is hypocritical and a joke. Did you all sprout some courage now you have julie’s comment editing to hide behind? Where were you before when tomkat needed defending??

    Candice,

I appreciate your views and sentiments and am sure you have valid reasons for holding them. However, the essence of being a fan is to have fun and enjoy the whole process. No one becomes a fan to endure taunts and put up with so much negativity and absurdity. There are other sites where one can go to see pictures of Tom and Katie. This site was a very nice site with a fun community (of both fans and detractors) and if you check the first posts, it was satirical and even fans enjoyed that satire.

However, an army of negative posters swammed the site sometime last year and I doubt any fan wants to fight wars for star even if you love them alot. As you have noticed, there are several fans on several Tom and Katie fan sites, most of these fans say they would rather not visit a site where they are going to be attacked and prefer friendly sites where they can catch up with news and pictures of Tom and his family. I doubt you will find many fans on Perezhilton or dlisted.com. It is not because Tom and Katie don’t have any more fans (which most non fans prefer to believe), far from it, judging from the vast numbers on their fans sites. It is simply because no one is in this for a fight.

Yes you may call us coward and all sorts of names but the truth, is life is full of too much bitterness and hate for me to come here every day to argue with someone who has shallow, absurd and often sick conspiracy theories.

Suri has had how many fathers on this site? The same people say she is Kleins, then Hartnett, then Hubbard, she was Born in November, then December, then Jan then Feb. Katie is the mother, then she is not the mother. Katie had an abortion. One would run mad trying to reason with such shallow hair-brained theories. I even saw a poster suggesting that Tom Cruise was behind the death of Heath Ledger. LOL. Now how low is that? Why would any one put up with such levels of reasoning?

Why make being a fan such a pain?

Tyler: I deleted your comment because I didn’t understand it completely and it sounded like it was attacking the non-fans.

    Jeanne: Thank you! ;)

Hi Lauren! I am glad you are finding this a better place to hang out for your TomKat news. :)

Lauren, I don’t know what “poster” you saw, but that wasn’t on this site. So please stay within what you saw here if you are going to talk about all the ‘negative’ posters. I for one, have had only one hope and goal posting here, I want KH to take herself and her innocent child and get the heck out of Dodge. That is it. Short and sweet. There is so much information available out on the web about this cult that it surprises me that anyone can say it is just another ‘religion’. It is so not. People have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to climb that bridge. You don’t get to know the really deep ’secrets’ until you get way up the ladder. What kind of religion is that? In my opinion, faith and the tenets of one’s faith should be free to all who want to enjoy or explore it. I am a Christian, and although I study other religions for informaiton purposes, I can’t be a Christian and a Scientologist. Their core beliefs are way too far apart. LRH studied with a Satainist. That is very much the opposite of my faith and beliefs so is it also the opposite of the Catholic’s beliefs. Therefore it causes me great concern for a young woman like I believe Katie was, rather innocent, to embrace a so called religion so unlike her own that she was raised in. I can see how TC would have the money and excitement and the charm to reel her in. There are entire countries around the world that have banned Scientology. There has to be something to all the fuss about it.

What I meant was I can see how she fell for TC and got pulled into the rest. But with all the fuss everywhere about CoS, there has to be something to it. Too many stories and testamonies of folks that have gotten out of it.
Do I like to see new pics and things happening with KH? Yes. And yes, I believe eventually, she will have the strength to move on and then she can once again follow her own dreams for herself.

To whoever asked if I’m a fan or non-fan, neither. I call it the way I see it. What I said about SPs was directly from TC’s mouth, nothing more. I won’t rehash it here, just clarify what I said.

@ Julie, Thanks too for making it a nice place to visit.

@Concerned mom. I would, if I had the time, energy and interest dig back and link you to all the posts I have alluded to above, as it turns out, it would not change your mind anyway so that would a waste of time.

As to your goal for posting here, I doubt Katie Holmes will in a million years visit this site to listen to your advice. No offence but unlike most of us who sit infront of the computers to discuss lives of strangers, she seems to have a full life at the moment.

I still don’t understand why if you want someone to leave a religion/ cult for her own good, you then proceed to sabotage her career, harrass her, attack her person, cultivate vile conspiracies about her and call her names.

I repeat, I don’t care about scientology and were the former members not so vile, I would even have some sympathies for them. As it turns out, they are no better than the cult they condemn, resorting to underhanded tactics and harrassing Tom Cruise. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

I am sure there are sites where any one who wants to know about scientology and its perils can go. This is a Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes site (now a fan site!) and not a pro or anti-scientology site. Tom Cruise may be their poster boy but he is not the religion and bringing him down will not make scientology go away, it will only get another star to use. To harrass him and his family is hypocrisy when you attack his church for harrassing former members.

Cannabis/ Marijuana has killed more people than scientology ever will and yet Brad Pitt for years campaigned for its legalisation. I did not see any anti-cannabis campaigners camp at Brad Pitt’s site to harrass him.

Yes, most of you non -ans were hoodwinked by a cult as you call it. Sorry but, you are neither the first nor the last. There are thousands of cults in the US. The difference is that unlike other former members of these cults, former scientologists have a punch bag that is Tom Cruise and his family to harrass and vent their anger. To me that is very unfair and for that reason I will not even listen to your arguments and your reasons for hating scientology. Get over it, move on, help those you can (camp outside the church and talk to members), and stop using your past folly as an excuse to attack an innocent man and his family.

    Lauren,
How do you know people here don’t have lives? How do you know KH’s life is so full?
TC is not Scientology, but he has been its face over the past several years so you can’t blame people for associating the two.
Interesting, that you don’t want to hear negative things about TC, but you have no problem sharing negative comments about Brad Pitt. What does he have to do with TC?
As a fan, why don’t you set a good example?

  • Lauren
    Mar 27, 2008 at 10:58 am

Tyler, I was giving an eample about Brad Pitt. I doubt he is ashamed of being associated with Cannabis since he has always been proud of it. It is a fact not a rumour. I could say the same for you. Why defend Brad Pitt and find no problem with people negatively attacking Tom and his family moreover relying on just rumours most of the time.

No one has the right to harrass another person for his beliefs. Yes Tom Cruise may be their number 1 champion but he is not scientology. If Tom Cruise died today, Scientology will still exist just like it did before him. Attacking and harrassing him, is using him as a punch bag for all your frustrations. My advice is get a life and move on, you left scientology, good, now get rid of the bitterness and get on with your lives.
