Connor Cruise Lands a Role in Spielberg Movie

UPDATE: Connor Cruise will play Will Smith’s son in the movie!
Connor Cruise has supposedly landed a role in the Steven Spielberg movie “The Trial of the Chicago 7“. It is rumored that he will play Bobby Seale, but according to IMDB, Will Smith is also rumored for the role. Bobby Seale is actually one of the demonstrators and was tried for conspiracy, so I am thinking maybe Connor is playing another part in the movie? 
I am a bit baffled, but I’ll keep my eye on this story. I would love to see Connor Cruise in a movie, if he is aspiring to be an actor!
The Trial of the Chicago 7 sounds like quite a heavy movie.
During the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, there were massive demonstrations against the Vietnam War, which was reaching its peak. When a curfew was finally instated, this led to even further protests, eventually leading to a police riot. Following this, eight of the demonstrators (Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Bobby Seale, John Froines, Tom Hayden, Lee Weiner, and David Dellinger) were tried for conspiracy. This is the story of the trial that followed.

Thanks for adding my link. I was shocked when I first read this as I didn’t see him putting his kids in a movie. But thinking back I remember a rumor (I know another one) that Suri was being looked at for a small voice thing. Seems that didn’t turn out, but still. I’d love to see Connor on film, he seems like such a quiet little boy. I also heard Will would play his dad in the movie.
whatever my opinions are of connor acting - i will certainly have to say that that young boy certainly has movie star looks

Damn, I totally forgot that the Lions for Lambs DVD would be out this week! I think it is already out, and to think that I was at TARGET the other day. It probably wasn’t there that day. I am gonna buy the DVD as soon as possible! Wanna see this again!

Connor is such a cutie and I’m delighted for him. Tom and Nicole must be bursting with pride. I’m glad that the reports are that Connor went through the whole audition process and won this role on his own talent by wowing everyone with how good he is . He must have payed attention and learned a thing or two from his Oscar winning mom and triple Oscar nominated dad ! He definately has the looks to play Will’s son, I just noticed reading about this that they actually do look enough alike to play father and son.
This is just another intentional rumor to give attention to a movie that nobody knew about, until now. Cause you know, nowadays, if you want attention all you have to do is concoct a story and link it Tom Cruise. I had no clue this movie even existed until this rumour. Now, this has already happend in the past. Some ditz, dunce author tried to link her novel to the life of Katie Holmes, and then some other rumour started, about Katie Holmes telling Posh about her fertility secret to make a baby girl, from some book that is paganism, another rumour to profit off the fame of tomkat. Then you had the rumour about Tom Cruise being cast in, Watchmen, and then, all of a sudden, the movie ends up on the top anticipated movies list, then you they got him linked to , Doctor Who, and then all of a sudden the show ends up being one of the top ten things being googled in North America, then they made rumors about Tomkat attending the Oscars this year, wich was not true, but they kept saying it in articles, cause people would tune in, but gladly, I did not tune in cause I knew there would be no tomkat, and as no suprise, The 2007 Oscars tanked. Now the list goes on, more rumors linking tomkat, just to profit of their fame!
If Connor wants to act, he should. He is adorable, and yes has that look!
Wouldn’t he need his mom’s (NICOLE’s) consent to act? He is under age and I would think they would need both parents consent. Sorry folks, as much as Cruise and Holmes want to pretend Katie is mom, she isn’t.

nicole is his adopted mother we know this but katie has been his mother the last 3 years when nicole was with her husband she knew her kids wanted to be in la and she choose to be somewhere is so dont pretend you dont know that katie just loves and support them good for them
how ‘good’ a mother could katie have really been over the past three years when all we have seen are day AND night shots of her out shopping, travelling, shopping, having a baby, getting married, shopping, travelling, shopping and made a movie to boot….
whether you like it or not - nichole is their mother, katie is their step mother - i am not saying she isn’t a good step mother, merely that she is a STEP mother
I am happy for Connor if this is true, Katie is not his mother, she is his step mum and am sure every one appreciates that. This is another instance of people complaining for nothing. The original story says that Nicole is thrilled for Connor. I remember Nicole saying that Bella is introverted but Connor loves the whole showbiz glitz. He loves the red carpet and you could see this during the MI3 launch.
Good for him if this is true. He will certainly not lack any advisers on how to make it in showbiz. No one can deny he has the look.
This story has been denied by Paramount who is making the movie.
honey, tc was there last year, yet the ratings were extremely low. this year they were even lower because there were no upbeat movies and the writer’s strike. it’s not about tc, or kh showing off a mega expensive dress. tc’s lucky to have a good fan like you though.
i just hope that tom isn’t starting up PR shifts for his children to work - suri did last year, and now that she is off the scene connor is stepping up…or am I being cynical? surely no one would use their children for their own purposes?!
Amy, I think you’ve been cynical to think PR doesn’t involve celebritie and their kids…if that is the case, why do you think celebs sell pics of their newborn babies or their wedding with their family?

Tom and Katie are hands on with Suri and refuse to leave her to be raised by a constant parade of nannies and it’s PR?
Katie has said her own mother took her everywhere with her.
Tom was very hands on with Bella and Conor as well.

You are right Mary. It is absurd that people never go back to check the insults they hurl at Cruise over false stories and feel ashamed. They just go right ahead and attack him then when the story is denied, they all go mum. Will Smith used his son and daughter, was that PR? In any case, I wouldn’t expect any higher standards from most of these anti- TC people. Thats their level of thinking.

anybody can be legal mom but it takes a mom to act like one katie has been with the kids from day one and she has never lived somewhere else like nicole who picks other things over her kids katie and tom are away from the kids only when they work and like you said katie is stepmom so she does not jhave to be there but she chose to nicole has no excuse no movie no matter what any mother would be with thire child at least the same city oh well nicole must be listening to stuff thats why after 3 longgggggg years she decided to buy house in la maybe katie will get a break
How exciting! Well, I think that if Connor wants to act, this is a great start. Starring in a Spielberg flick and working with Will Smith should be a really positive and protected experience for a new young actor.

Lauren, I am going to say that I seriously doubt this story. I think both Bella and Connor are lovely kids, but a movie with Steven Spielburg? SS is professional enough to put Connor in the movie if that is what he wants to do. But if anyone actually reads anything else on the internet and watches the interviews SS and TC did together, there is a problem between those 2 men. Huge issues. I think SS felt that TC was so busy declaring his love for KH all over the world that he ‘forgot’ what he was on all those shows to do–promote a movie. If TC’s original publicist had still been in charge, it would have been an entirely different story. Does anyone here at all see how different TC has been the last 2-3 years? Back when he kept his private life well private, I think he was definitely one of the big power players in Hollyweird. Dignified, respected by his industry. By the way Lauren, if this turns out to be true, I will come back and apologize. If Connor wants to be in the biz great. He definitely has the looks. Haven’t ever really heard him speak yet, but I bet he has the talent too. But taking him on in a movie, would probably mean having a tent set up on set, TC on set all the time, and all the rest that goes with TC these days.
sorry concerned mom but that what people said about tom on set with katie and they were wrong which they always are tom feel in love with katie and just went with it nothing to be ashamed of and as you noticed tom has never complained about what sad people say about him never and how tom raise his kids are nobodys business since tom is left alone with them with katies help
Concerned mom, I think you may actually be behind by three years. Spielberg and Tom Cruise made up long ago, infact in 2005. Spielberg has also been on record for saying he believed 100 percent in the Cruise Holmes Romance because he witnessed it first hand when it was happening. Just google it and you will see the articles. Infact the actual reason they fell out was because Tom was criticising drug companies suring the promotion of war of the worlds yet his Paramount bosses also own major stakes in these companies.
Cruise in 2005 presented Spielberg with an award and they hugged which showed that they had mended fences. Spielberg also attended his LA wedding party in 2006 if you remember.
I must say I fully agree with Lauren about people who attack TC over crazy rumours and never feel ashamed afterwards but go right ahead to attack him over another crazy rumour.
I am not sure how true this story is but if it is, then am happy for Connor who seems like a nice kid. Bella and Connor seem to have agreat relationship with Katie from the pictures at the football games. Infact, I don’t know any one who does not love her (save for those crazed internet stalkers). There must be something nice about her. Every one can’t be wrong.

I must say that altho I sort of think TC has taken a bit of a turn around the bend, I totally enjoy news and pictures of Katie and Suri and even Bella and Connor when we see them. One of my closest friends and I used to go to every movie of his on opening weekend. We had a lot of fun. I was a fan I guess until the breakup with Nicole time frame. I sort of thought he blindsided her. They had just had their 10th anniversary huge party in
Colorado?? Not sure. What happened is their buisiness, but it seemed to have taken her by surprise somehow. Hmm did he start dating Penelope Cruz around the Vanilla Sky movie time frame? Altho I really did not get that movie, I saw it. The last movie I saw of his in the theater was probably MI 1. I was a complete DC fan watching it with my daughter every week. It was something we could do together. So I have always seen KH as a sort of sweet, nice girl. She is in the age brackett of my daughters so I enjoyed watching her career developing. I support her and Suri.
For all of Cruise’s confidentiality agreements, we certainly have a huge group ‘in the know’ here.
Some thoughts about Mom of the Year KH: According to media pics, she spent 6-8 months away from her step children Bella and Connor. Sorry, but as teens, they need more guidance then Suri does at age 18 months. So, I guess Cruise took lessons from Nicole of abandoning his adopted children. You can’t parent from Berlin/Louisianna/New York/Washington D.C./Italy when your kids are in L.A.
One more thing, Nicole has been in L.A. quite frequently over the years filming movies. So, she has been there to see her kids. The kids have also been to Australia to visit their mom. This is also called the reality of divorce: KIDS VISIT THEIR PARENTS!! Also, TC has pawned his kids off on his sister to raise and educate. As a mom, I have always been hands on.
Also, according to Scientology, if a parent leaves Scientology like Nicole has, the kids are taught to SHUN that parent. There are numerous stories to back up that reality.
What’s funny is that this pawning of the adopteds off onto others is not happening to Suri. According to Cruise, he can’t bare to not have her with him. Connor and Bella are another story; he can bare to be without them.
BIG FACT HERE though: NONE OF US KNOW THE ENTIRE SITUATION. KATIE COULD BE THE WICKED STEP MOTHER. NICOLE COULD BE A GREAT MOM. NO ONE KNOWS THE TRUTH, EXCEPT THOSE CLOSELY INVOLVED.

Honestly, I think half the time none of you have been in a divorce situation or have had kids. If you were the MOM and some little honey your ex married walked around as if she were the mom, you would be quite insulted…and justifiably so!
Speculation is always just that. I doubt Tom would ever deny Nicole access to her kids. He said on Larry King in 2002 that they had a 50/50 custody arrangement. This reminds me of tabloid reports that Suri drinks only Braley because Ron Hubbard wrote something like that. Some choose to believe that over Katie’s assertion that she breast fed and pumps. She said this in several interviews.
I also wonder why someone would deduce from the media reports how much time Katie has with her step kids. Do you know where she is now? She said in an interview that they wake up with the kids and they travel later in the day. They have three planes so it is not hard for them. Media only covers less than 1% of these star’s lives and you cannot draw conclusions from only that.
no one special katie is not some little honey she is tom wife and if katie did not treat them well there wold be this big uproar good for katie for treating them no different and also the kids are big and dont want to follow tom and katie. if i were thier mom they would be with me equally if i were mom but the kids want to be with tom and katie. i would like to say you dont know the truth about divorce nicole said she did not know tom said she did i got to believe it did not come as a complete surprise but they blamed tom and he did noy say anything else for his kids sake katie has not been in italy for periods of time and you really dont know about germany you just didnt see them if nicole wants to play mommy i doubt it but put your kids first until she does dont feel one ounch of pity for her never did too goody goody
i would bet nicole’s trying to respect her kid’s life they’ve ever known. i agree that she should live near her kids though, even if it’s unpleasant to be near tom. they need her. tom brought a young girl into the kids home raise them. if i were nicole, at that point i would have fought for them.

Tyler, the only reason it might be unpleasant for NK to live near Tom is if she is still in love with him. How many times does she has to say they are in good terms and she has said nothing but good things about Tom as a father and isn’t that what should matter about your children’s father and ex husband? She has said he was lovely and good to her and that she still loves him…so no reason not to be closer to her kids. But like someone said we don’t know how much time she spends with her kids. I’ve read both Tom and NK have said they have joint custody (NK did an interview where she admitted, they have joint custody, but Bella and Connor prefer Los Angeles and being close to their dad) and with the media we have today it shouldn’t be hard for NK to use them to see her kids, if it wasn’t the case or if it wasn’t by choice.
Tyler, Nicole said that she is till in love with Tom and will forever love him. She thinks the world of him though she obviously no longer shares enthusiasm for his beliefs. I doubt she will find it unpleasant to live near him. The problem with hanging out with uncivilized internet buddies is that you tend to think every one else is uncivilized. These are grown ups and I guess it is about time Nicole realised that if she wanted to raise her kids, she had to be realistic.
I still can’t picture what her child with Keith Urban will look like. I also want to see Halle Berry’s baby. Must be gorgeous.
Spielberg won’t be working with Cruise again, trouble between them is way too big and way too personal. Don’t take my word for it, just watch the future. I ain’t gonna happen
