Today (July Katie Holmes was seen on the set of her movie “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” walking alongside her body guard. She was dressed in a black cardigan, skinny jeans and black flats. It looks like it was one windy day in Melbourne!

Earlier in June, we heard that great lengths were being taken to lock down the film set in Melbourne in order to give Katie some privacy from the media. Miramax had confirmed that security would be at a premium and booked all of the sound stages at the studio complex.

Well, it seems that there was a breach in that security when NOVA 93.7 presenters Ryan, Monty and Wippa made it onto the set with no problems at all. They caled it “Mission Not Impossible” and were disguised in a gold cart with Wippa acting as their security guard.

They were able to drive around the set for about 10 minutes, going past the costumes and set. They saw some paparazzi at the gate and soon a security guard came up to them and said they had 4 minutes to get out of there. You can see the video of their little mission here.

Katie Holmes was seen on the set of “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” today (July 7) in Melbourne, Australia. According to Splash Online, she was there for the casting call of the young Katie.

I can’t wait to see who they choose to play a young Katie. My guess is it’s going to be someone local in Melbourne, but who knows.

Katie looked very focused and ready to work as she walked onto the set with her security guards. She is wearing her hair up in a clip, which looks really nice on her and is dressed for the cold Melbourne weather.

As you know, Tom and Suri are in Melbourne with Katie and they had a very busy holiday weekend. They celebrated Tom’s 47th birthday, saw Jersey Boys and Katie was seen on the set in a pair of horn-rimmed glasses.

Finally! Some photos from Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’s low key birthday celebrations at the Collingwood and Essendon AFL Match.

Instead of the standard crazy Hollywood celebrity party, Tom and Katie hung out with good friend James Packer and Katie’s “Don’t Be Afraid of The Dark” co-star, Guy Pearce in a corporate box. During the game, Cruise was friendly and smiling to fans who I were surprised to see the famous couple out for the match on Tom’s birthday.

This was just a night for Tom and Katie; Suri stayed at home. As close as the Cruise family is, it’s always nice to see Tom and Katie get some alone time to hang out and be a couple too!

Officially, “Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark” begins shooting on Monday, but Katie Holmes was seen on the set today looking cute and casual in a black beret and horn-rimmed glasses. Her tights and black flat shoes look very laid back and comfortable too.

It’s interesting to note how much emphasis was placed on the set being closed and very carefully monitored by security, but photos of Katie on set surface before shooting has even begun! Even though I hope the photographers don’t intrude on the actors trying to get their work done, it is really great to see Katie with so much on the go this summer. Between the Dizzy Feet Foundation, practicing for “So You Think You Can Dance” and now getting into the groove for “Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark”, Katie has a lot on the go!

On Monday (June 22), Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes helped celebrate with Cameron Diaz, who got her star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.

Katie was all in white, showing up in a pair of white ripped jeans, white shirt and a white cardigan.

As you probably know, Tom and Cameron have worked together before in the 2001 flick Vanilla Sky. Reportedly, they are set to work together again in “Wichita”. Sources say that they have both signed on for the film, approved the script and their negotiations are in the advanced stage.

Cruise will play a secret agent who pops in and out of the life of a single woman. “Wichita” is slated to be released in summer 2010.

Katie Holmes and Suri Crusie were seen at a dance studio in Los Angeles yesterday (June 17). Katie was all smiles as she hugged a friend.

Katie carried Suri out of the car, along with a blanket and big stuffed teddy bear. There is one picture of Suri peaking out from the car and it’s so cute! You can see it below.

I am not sure if the visit to the dance studio was for Katie or Suri, but according to sources, Katie did tape a segment for “So You Think You Can Dance”. UsMagazine has quite a few details from a show source (I know, I know…they are a tabloid but who knows…maybe it’s true!). According to the mag, Katie will be playing homage to Judy Garland in a number from the 1950’s musical Summer Stock.

Last week Katie Holmes was seen meeting with “So You Think You Can Dance” judge Nigel Lythgoe. They met at a dance studio and the rumors started flying that Katie would be appearing on the show. A show insider said, “She’s met with Nigel Lythgoe and everyone hopes she appears on this season or next season of the show”.

Yesterday (June 14), Katie was spotted at the CBS studios! Obviously, she could be meeting for other reasons such as appearing on another TV show. Who knows! All we do know, is that Katie is up to something and I can’t wait to hear what it’s all about.

Katie hopped out of her black SUV in a gorgeous Juicy Couture dress and has her hair pulled back in a pony tail.

In other Katie Holmes news, Lifetime has picked up the cable TV rights to Overture Films’ first released film “Mad Money.” Reportedly, they will pay license fees to Overture of just under $4 million which is around 20% of what the film has grossed domestically. Lifetime may start airing the movie sometime in the second quarter of 2010.

The film stars Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, Katie Holmes, Ted Danson, Roger R. Cross, Christopher McDonald, Adam Rothenberg, Paul Rae, Meagen Fay, J.C. MacKenzie and Drew Waters.

Katie Holmes was seen arriving at a dance studio Thursday (June 4) in Los Angeles. She was dressed comfy and casually in a gray sweater and black pants.

According to Just Jared, Katie Holmes has been praised for a certain fashion choice by Roberta Armani, Giorgio Armani’s niece, who handles VIPs for the family business.

She had this to say about Katie:  “Don’t be scared to be bold. My friend Katie Holmes wore some amazing bright blue shoes with an orange Armani Prive dress last year to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala in New York - she looked fantastic.”

She is referring to this look.

Katie Holmes was seen leaving a dance studio in Los Angeles, CA today (June 1). She was carrying her favorite Valextra shopping bag, which she has been toting around quite a bit lately.

Katie had her hair slicked back in a pony tail and was sporting a pair of wide leg jeans. Over the weekend, Katie and Suri spent some time together at The Grove shopping and grabbing a bite to eat. Popsugar has THE cutest pictures of them (which I am VERY frustrated I don’t have access too! sigh.)

The family will be heading off to Melbourne this summer so Katie can film “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark”. She better soak up that warm Cali sun while she can!
