Broadway Ticket Prices Expected to Soar Due to Katie Holmes

by Julie on June 18th, 2008

katie-holmes-pictures-08-small_nc.jpgLargely due to Katie Holmes‘ appearance in the Broadway play “All My Sons“, Broadway ticket prices are expected to rise. Normally, the top price for evening performances as well as Saturday and Sunday matinées are around $116.50 and Wednesday matinées are $111.50.

There is no official word out yet as to what ticket prices will be for “All My Sons“, but they are expected to possibly go as high as $251.50 for the best seats in the house. During Thanksgiving and Christmas, ticket prices could go as high as $300 for the best seats.

Needless to say, people want to see Katie’s performance on Broadway.  When someone like Katie Holmes makes a debut on Broadway, it’s a big deal! I am so excited for her and think she’s going to knock the crowds’ socks off. :D

Katie’s debut will take place on September 18th. The production officially opens October 16th and will run through January 11th.

Julie, there are so many great pics of Katie. That one isn’t showing her at her best. Good topic, however.

Julie, “someone like Katie?” Can you elaborate?

Tyler - meaning someone as talked about as much as she is and someone who hasn’t been on Broadway before.

Agree with Kelli! There are many proven actors in that play. I am sure Katie is helping with ticket sales because of who she is, but I think that it is the rest of the cast that is carrying this play.

Wow, she must be under a lot of pressure. I work best under pressure. Let’s hope the same for her.

I agree about the cast and the pressure. When you look at the castings, they are top notch. I like Katie’s role too. She is gonna knock them off!

This will be a serious, FULL-time job for her. She will need to try and stay healthy for all those months, especially b/c she will be entertaining during cold and flu season. She is gonna be working hard with all those matinees followed by evening performances. Once that curtain goes up the momentum kicks in and there is no stopping like on a film set where Katie could perhaps ask to walk off the set to blow her nose or take a sip of hot tea. Once on stage if she gets a coughing spell if sick then she just stays on and keeps feeding her lines…..as I said before, stage is tough and she can make a name for herself as being a serious actress who can handle the nightly pressure. My friend starred in Wicked on B-Way and its alot of work….but great fun. I just want Katie to stay healthy b/c the show runs through germ season…nothing worse than being on stage with strep!!! I was in that position….but as they say”the show’s gotta go on”!!!

That would be pretty tough, Jenna. I guess you have to pick yourself up and go ‘on with the show’!! That definitely doesn’t sound like something for the faint of heart!!

Sounds like this experience is going to be a tough one for Katie, but I think she can pull it off with the support of her family.
