Rumor has it that Katie was recently seen buying tons of little blue outfits for her incoming spawn and sources have gone out on a limb and asserted that the kid will be named William Oscar (as opposed to the planned Ella Elizabeth for a girl). After the news that Tom bough a sonogram it wouldn’t be surprising that they know the sex of the baby.

On Tuesday, ABC will be airing its “10 Most Fascinating People of 2005″ special, in which Tom Cruise is interviewed by Barbara Walters. Among the topics they cover, the “silent-birth” rumor (Tom says its “nutty”), and the couch-jumping incident on Oprah (Tom says he’ll always be jumping on couches and that all men should jump on couches, we agree). No the couple is not getting married to a placenta, rather (as the National Ledger notes) they are going to wait untill the baby is born to tie the knot. The couple has said the wedding will be sometime in 2006, but they have no set date yet.

Word is that Tom has spent up to $200k to purchase a sonogram machine so that he can view his and Katie Holmes’ baby before it is born. He has said that he will be donating the machine after the child is born.

The LA Times has reportedly named Tom Cruise the “tackiest” star of the year. Our vote for tackiest newspaper of the year should be obvious.

Shanghai Daily is reporting that our beloved Mr Cruise has arrived 3 days before he had planned. And rather than whisk around town with his entourage in a car he deigned to walk amongst the mortals, which made his bodygaurds nervous. Cruise is working on the third installment to the Mission Impossible series which is set to be released in May. Last week an entire ancient water-town closed so that a set could be built for the film. This better be good.

Bret Easton Ellis, author of the much heralded and very grotesque ‘American Phsyco’, is working on a new adaptation of another one of this novels, entitled ‘Lunar Park’. The story features the author himself as a character and he is currently searching for leading males for the part. IrelandOnline reports:

Ellis is even prepared to stay away from the movie set if fears of his irreverent behaviour or bisexuality are the reason behind the actors’ reluctance to accept the role.

He says: “I actually mention Keanu Reeves in the book and really wanted him to play me. He said he’d loved the book, but refused.

In one of the more bizzare stories we’ve seen come out of this whole TomKat thing, it appears that Katie Holmes was ejected from a movie theater in California when her “buzzing aid” annoyed other movie goers. From SouthFlorida.com:
